    I would recommend upgrading the sway bars, I did it with my 04 Prius and it made a huge improvement. Also the wheels from the Toyota gt 86 fit the Prius I have some on mine and am running 215/45R17 so if you want bigger wheels you can grab some used ones and easily fit some 225/55R17. Great video btw 👍

    Compressing the spring you can use bailing wire to hold the compression take the compression tools off place in the strut in the strut area. . Cut the wire once in the car to release the energy.

      @@soilliamregarding the transmission oil cooler... I couldn't find were I asked you originally but here's what I learned from a Toyota tech and a hypermiler that's owned a gen 2 since new
      The eCVT trans doesn't have any lines that directly connect to the radiator..
      The inverter indirectly cools the trans by having its lines next to each other
      The methods recommended... Replace the GEN2 radiator with one from a gen3 inverter coolant radiator and/or place an auxiliary fan next to the inverter radiator for improved airflow
      My though are possible adding another small radiator inline with the OEM inverter coolant radiator.. add a fan.. the add an engine oil cooler
      Please let me know your thoughts

    lol people laugh but I did a lot of hauling heavy loads with my Prius as well for years. It tows really really well! I just used some of those twist lock coil spring spacers to keep mine from sagging. Worked out great! Strange but it also made the ride much smoother.

    Thanks for the video! Love it! I've got a 2007 Prius I added a +1.5" spacer from Prius Offroad and +1.75" in the rear from a set of springs from valley spring works. When I was installing the rear axle with the spacer and spring, I was running into a clearance issue with the hydraulic brake lines. What did you do about those? Did you remove them from the mount and leave them hanging? Thanks!

    • @soilliam
      @soilliam  8 месяцев назад

      I had to remove them from their mount during installation while the car was jacked up and the axle was hanging freely, but I reconnected them after I installed the strut and jacked it up a little bit. I hope that helps

      @TheVadnay Год назад +1

      @@soilliam You cannot carry not even heavy loads but neither lighter stuff. The maximum is what a Prius gen 2 can carry is some bikes and sport equipment. According to Toyota. Im sure the original manual contains it.
      Not the inverter, breaks and suspension, undercarriage and the planetary gearset is capable for this.
      It will kill your inverter.

    I did the same upgrade but now my driver side has a squeeking sound when turning. Sound like its coming from where the rubber lift meets the strut at the upper part of the strut. Especially loud when i open my hood and put my ear by the 3 bolts. That part doesnt turn but the squeeking sound is heard the entire time the steering wheel is turning. Any tips on how to fix this?

    The snapped bolt probably wasn't your fault, those cheap ebay kits just have really bad quality bolts. I have a similar kit in mine and also recently had the problem of a pothole bending my strut mounts because the plastic spacers don't spread the load properly across the whole top hat like the factory struts or a quality lift kit does. I certainly wouldn't recommend anyone buy those cheap plastic kits for these 2 reasons, the Prius Offroad ones are better in every way

    Has increasing the front height decreased your gas mileage from the axle joints having to rotate at a higher angle?
