The Wizards defence was bad but that's because the lack of commitment, specially from the guards (Poole and Jones). They just need to send to the bench every player that cut corners. Anyway they don't need a heavy center that can't shot or dribble at all. DC is just like Gafford and you can get players like this with a lower pick. The Wizards will draft one of the french guys, and they can have a great defence with Bilal Deni and the new draft pick (they are very versatile with their size strength and quickness), Bagley is above average as a personal defender, and their only problem in this starting 5 will be Poole (but they can draft a pg with the pick they will get for Kuzma trade (probably)).
I mean the Wizards need a lot. I get Risacher has more upside, but the wizards two best young prospects are versatile wings with Demi and Bilal. They don’t have a paint presence whatsoever.
@@giyuwavy1771 I mean you could argue the same for Risacher. As of rn he’s a fantastic shooter with defensive potential, but his shot creation is questionable. He’s basically just a 3nD guy rn. Any other year he’s no where near a top 2 talent either. His ceiling is higher than Clingan, but Clingan’s floor is higher as well.
The Hawks would be rebuilding for the next 10 years if they trade Trae. The Spurs own their top pick for 2025 unprotected. It makes zero sense for them to blow it up and hope Kobe Bufkin makes an unreal jump from barely seeing the court to key player on a playoff team. Sarr would be as much a build-for-now pick as it is a build-for-the-future pick, because he immediately brings a defensive presence and rim running ability from the center position that the Hawks have lacked since pushing the NBA champion Bucks to 6 games in the ECF with an injured Trae.
@@scottwickett1273 Yeah, they could, but people are forgetting just how special a talent Trae is. You’re banking on Dejounte to be something he’s never shown, which is to be the centerpiece of a team competing for a championship. His career high single-season PPG was just this past season with 22.5 PPG. Trae for his career averages north of 25 PPG and 9.5 APG. We’re not getting that from DJM. Trae took a team with role players, none of which averaged more than 20 PPG, to a ECF. DJM ain’t doing that. Good to great player, but not the franchise changing player people think he is. If he was, the Spurs wouldn’t have traded him.
Even better fit for my Spurs if Houston doesn’t snag him. I know he wants that French connection with Wemby for sure. Rob dillingham at 4 Ron Holland at 8
Risacher and Sheppard for SAS.
