- First thing's first. If you haven't yet seen it, check out our first video on the Yamaha Motif XF, a friendly, under-five-minute clip introducing some of the new sounds on the updated flagship workstation from Yamaha. When you're done with that, strap in for this epic demonstration of the Motif XF's workflow and new sequencer features.
Don't worry, Yamaha rep Blake Angelos keeps the tone light, the pace breezy, and the licks tasty, making this 18:15-long video fly by as if it were a mere 16:35. We promise, it's worth it. Yu'll want to see the new user interface, sequencer worflow, integrated audio slicing, firewire connectivity and project sharing options in action-all standouts of this fantastic-sounding workstation.
This was by far the best presentation I have seen of this board.
seriously????? it is one of the WORST! they have come a long way since this "presentation": you can't see a single thing he is doing, since the screen is not being shown....many tutorials have followed where there is a inset view of the screen so that you can actually see what buttons he is pushing and selecting....for a newcomer that knows nothing about this keyboard, this video is worthless....
I agree! That's the only reason why I haven't brought the Motif XF yet because as soon as I buy the Motif XF Yamaha will come out with a brand new workstation after I done had my Motif over a year.
Brilliant video. This will be immensely helpful in getting to know my XF8 which is on its way via FedEx! I can't even sleep.
I guess there are lots of us just waiting to see what will come out.
Yamaha should know this and get something new out so they can take our money:)
I sure would feel bad if I bought something and Bang, they come out with the new
Power house. They should be, its been so long. Just have the ipad hooked on and etc
is not enough. I guess we have to keep the faith.
This is really a great machine ! I love this keyboard.. I love the reality of the sound,the shape,the colour,everything !! :)
my motif xf6 will be arriving any day now it was ordered tue nite and i cant wait to add this workstation midi hooked up with my mpc3000 le and logic. its going to be a great day in happy land lol
I agree with Steve I want to see what buttons your pushing. You were telling what buttons you were pushing but I like to see what your doing as well. I don't know how hard it would be to split screen this. Cool stuff though, definitely a fine keyboard.
Wow that is alot of power. I sure wish they would bring out a new model so I could buy one and not worry about a new model coming out right after I buy one.
I'm getting the xf8 hopefully in the next week or so. I can't wait
it has its own sequencer. pattern mode is loop based composition where song mode is linear. its very good and easy to use
Love your video it will be nice to see the screen of the the keyboard
gillette gift This is obviously not a tutorial showing which actual keys are press for what thanks to the poor camera work and extra fast movements of the teacher. Sad.
This is amazing! I have to get me one of these!
i get mine next week cant wait hope i like the pianos never really like the ones on the xs love the power grand on my motif 8 like the vids
i just ordered my xf6!!!!!!!!!!!! just 3 more days. hahahahahaha yes!
The Sound quality the Yamaha Motif produces is terrific A very expensive tool. TIMBRE is a word used to describe sound. There`s a company known as Tall Grass Electronics that make magnetic cassette tapes. Cassette Tapes are magnetic and can be used to record your music if your a musician. Similar to a microphone. Microphones can pickup and record your music as you practice.
It is a truly impressive keyboard instrument. I really wish someone would present a tutorial that properly focussed on how to do this stuff rather than showing off how well the presenter can play. Do Yamaha think that everyone who buys their keyboards are Jazz players?
What I want to know is when is Yamaha going to bring out a new workstation.. I have the money
but I want a new model before I buy.
i really enjoyed the music and so did my cat lol
I would but the Korg Kronos X doesn't integrate to a DAW as good as the Motif XF does, because the Motif XF can send 16 channels of audio through firewire to DAW.
I agree with you Steve but I realize this is a sales video primarily not that helpful in showing the steps. I could not be happier though that I bought this keyboard. It's awesome sounding like few other keyboards
All your instruments (tracks) can be exported also separately to the USB Key?
That's compensated by 16 aduio tracks in the sequencer and a VST plug-in for Kronos, though a Cubase/Sonar import. The Kronos is a better "workstation" overall & when it comes to analog modeling, the Kornos is in a totally different class than the Motif. The Kronos MOD-7 engine (great for "FM Synthesis) can directly load Yamaha DX7 SysEx libraries. I guess it all depends on what you're looking for. Both keyboards are great (& expensive) & have their pros/cons. Just research before you by. =D
john geralr yup I agree with you on that! Korg is more user friendly, but the Motif is a great keyboard as well. you won't go wrong with either of them.
of course it has one sequencer. 16 tracks, 8 tracks of these are available for insertion effects
I wish he would have mentioned how his computer converted that file from MIDI to an MP3.
can the motif do tracking in the sense that is there a 1 stop function that tracks out each instrument as a wave file without soloing each one?
This really is a great presentation, how long did it take you to learn this new Yamaha?
Why no screenshots? Who needs to watch a guy playing a keyboard and hitting invisible buttons?
Because they're ashamed of the old technology screen. It's 2015 & they still didn't get the memo. Too busy making Motorcycles & Boats I guess.
I AGREE!
I totally agree!!! He is showing nothing but himself!!!
Do the programs have round-robin and articulation switching?
Can I add a drum filling when crossing from Section A to Section B ?
I purchased an xf8. My first workstation although I've been a key player for many years. Is there any video that would teach me to use the workstation correctly. I got the video and book that came with it, but I really need something basic that moves slowly for a beginner. I haven't found anything and it's getting so frustrating. Please help. Thanks in advance!
doitee52 hey man how are you doing with your Yamaha Motif FX8? Thanks
I sample a loop and sliced it. It does change with the tempo but is not completely on with the metronome. How do I get it sync to click?
good stuff!!!!!!!
I've spent years making successful demos on a Yamaha SQ16.
I need to change to a modern keyboard - but will this one do the things I want to do?
I usually make a rhythm track on Band In A box - save it to a gm midi file - then edit the song on the SQ16.
Can I do this on a Motif?
Will the slice feature put any sample(break beat) loop to the midi clock?
I wish Yamaha would put the damn flash drive socket somewhere on the front.
Ahhhh, is there any easy way to learn this machine for a real classically trained pianist /composer?
Buy a yamaha PSR E-403 instead
Did the *MOTIF XS* have MUSICAL 🎶 STYLES like 👍🏻 the MOTIF XF did?
I bought mine in 2014 but after two years with very little use and without moving it from the place I put it in my house when I bought it it started to show some very serius problems. The touch buttons with the arrows only respond to up and down but when I try to go left or right they dont respond and this has made for the last three years my recordings impossible. I even spent allá the money in order to try to plug it to my iPad so I could make my recordings using garage band App but to make things worst the Yamaha motif xf sinthezisers seem to be about the only ones that need to be configured in order to be recignized by an iPad!!!!
Therefore by not being able to move left or right on my screen I was never able to get my iPad to recognize my motif.
I am frustrated and very dissappointed with this sinthesizer and I wiuld not recommend it to anyone.
I have big love for music somehow
Have any mainstream musical 🎵 artists 👩🎨 such as “Kylie Minogue”, “Coldplay” and such likes 👍 used the Motif XF?
that direct record mode is new on the motif xf??
which performance is this???? its so chill! anyone kno which performance this is??
does the motif have its own sequencer. how would you be able to make a song on this thing. theres no videos where theres a track editor with this, anyone.
Yea you right.
Yeah, nice to add Audi files into track 16 but when you switch the keyboard off, you won't hear that audio again. Great keyboard but one of the lamest things about is you have spend huge bucks to add the flash memory, but it doesn't use the memory to recall any audio you load on it. The USB must be used. Dumb!
Is this the song from dead rising 2 ?!
naw it was introduced on motif xs
Does anyone else think he looks and sounds very similar to Mike Macdonald
good!!!!! you should make beats
Musik etnik Indonesia ?
sooooo lucky lol!
well if they did that it'd be easier to use the usb slot and that makes no sense. wait...........nvm, what i just said makes no sense
you may find motifator(dot)com has so many helpful folks over there
Nah just realized the kronos was better.
Just buy a Korg Kronos X instead =D
How porn music is made.
123.wav: I like 👍 it. What a cool 😎 title for a song 🎶.
