i had about 15 minutes during soundcheck to program all the sounds i needed for a show.. no experience with this model you totally saved my life, thank you!!
Great video. For anyone wondering how to Name and Store the voicings: To Name: Select "EDIT" > "SF6" Button to name it (SF6 and SF4 clears and stores the letters). To store: Click "STORE" > Select location > Select "Yes".
Thank u so much I just suscribe to your channel ..ive watched a thousand videos no one explain it better than u. Thank u so much for posting this video.
I hope it helped you. This was my first video. My next one will have a thumbnail of just the screen so you can see what I’m doing. I appreciate the input.
Some tips: shorten the sustain of the string pad so it won"t muddy up when playing faster stuff. And make shure the modulation wheel is turned off on part 1, 2 and 3 and only turned on on the organ part. When you do that the modulation wheel will only affect the leslie speed of the organ and not the modulation on the strings and piano.
I must say, this was helpful. I’m a blind pianist, and I have a preference for Yamaha. Not just because of its sound, but also its user-friendly interface, especially the Motifs. But it's hard to get someone who can explain to a blind person where which button and knob is. I’d love a more indepth one-on-one virtual session, just for you to guide me through. Would you do that please?
Perfect, I had a motif over 10years and couldn’t layer dongs songs. Thanks, I just wish you could teach some of those moves I heard you playing in your demo
Very useful but I have a problem, once playing if I keep the sustain pedal pressed the sound cuts off after playing about 10 keys in sequence. First I thought it was something wrong with the piano but then I played without the perform button and it doesn't do it. Any idea how to fix it?
This was a great video - I have seen some doozies as I am trying to figure out this keyboard to use at church! Question though - if I want to keep my settings - do I just hit “store”? And then, how do I actually find it? I am not sitting in front of the instrument right now so not quite able to play with it yet. I also would love to see a tutorial on the split keyboard!
How can you play multiple sound parts at same time in pattern sequencer mode? Basically I want to layer play channel 4 and 5 at same time for example on keyboard.
Seriously? lol.....your spoken info is fantastic, but c'mon, you HAVE to have an inset section that zooms in on the screen! You cannot see anything whatsoever on that screen from a distance!!

Thank you so much!! This is a total game changer. You explain things so clearly. Please make more Motif XF8/XS8 videos, if you have time! 😇

Thank you for the comment and subscribing! I’m glad it helped you!
Thanks for this but I’ll suggest you get the camera focused directly on the screen so we could also see clearly what and how you are doing it

I think you explained everything very well can you do a video on how to work the sequencer plz ?
Thanks. Great instructions!. Could you do a split keyboard tutorial please, with instructions on changing octaves of each layer in the split?
I’m glad it helped you! I’ll work on that tutorial for you!
Great and concise help!! How do I program channels five through eight? I’m not able to do that from the F2 function
Hey were you able to find this out? Im having this issue.
It’s been a while since I’ve looked at it and no I don’t think I ever figured it out

How do you save the layers

I will be making another video on how to store these custom mixes at a later time as well as splitting the keyboard. Glad you liked the video!
@@michaeltruck2154 Hi brother. Do you make the video about how to save it and also how to split keyboard? Thanks.
Thank you! Thank you! And thanks! 😊
You’re very welcome 👍
Hi, how can I lower or raise just one track (-12or +12)? Thanks
Thank you 🙏
Great video! Could you also do a video on how to save the created sounds with your own specified name?
I will work on that! I’m glad you found it useful!
How can you play multiple sound parts at same time in pattern sequencer mode? Basically I want to layer play channel 4 and 5 at same time for example on keyboard.
Is this the same for motif 6 very great explanation
Yes it is the same.
Thanks a lot! Does this same setting also apply to the XF7 for some reason I can’t save my layers on the XF7. Thanks.
This setting applies to the xf6, xf7 and xf8. That’s odd, let me know if you figure it out. You should be able to save the layers.
Thanks. But how do I assign to the 5th and other faders? I’m always limited to 4 faders.
I co-ask
thats impossible....its only allow 4 faders...thas why i prefer kurzweill and fantom g....lol
Same here
You can do additional layers in “song” mode
I’ve been trying to figure that out too. Why do they have 8 layers of we can only use 4??
Do u have the big ram cards installed?
why I still have another piano sound while all faders are off?
Kindly supply me with the prices of the three ranges of XF 6; XF7:and XF 8 yamaha key boards in ZAR
how can i name it?
I can only use 4 sound
How can I use volume 5 to 8
It would have been better to comprehend if there was a close up shot of your screen to view the parameters that you
are actually selecting.
Thanks for the info. I’m looking to have another shot of just the screen embedded in the next tutorial
@@michaeltruck2154 : Cool , that would be great.

480p video in September of 2020? Get real bro.
