    UPDATE. As of April 2024, I made styrene housings for the headlights to replace the plain electrical tape ones shown in the video for engine 407.

    This video was very helpful to me. I’ve been trying to convert my old custom-painted Milwaukee Road SW1200 to dcc, and this video helped me do it.

    I like your motor mount solution! I've never seen anyone do that before!

      I think that was the reason why Athearn cast the holes there; specifically for adding 2-56 screws in leiu of the plastic motor mounts.

    3M makes an "industrial" double backed tape that works very well; it comes on a roll with red backer.

    CAN YOU ADD SOUND? IF SO, HOW?

    Just for clarification,
    1. amperage draw is based on stall current, not what it draws while pulling. Stall current would be higher.
    2. amperage displayed on the throttle is “.” and the number (eg .35, not 35) - huge huge difference.

    Thanks for posting, You never did show the fwd light being hooked up to both the yellow wire and white wire pads, did it work? and thanks for posting John 8:12, we need that light everyday.

      You are welcome. I assume you are talking about the original bulb one? If so, yes it did. Amen to that!

    Is that newer style motor quieter than the original motor?

    • @AndyMicoley1995
      @AndyMicoley1995  6 месяцев назад

      Not much quieter. The locomotive itself could affect performance and noise too. I have a small Athearn BB Rio Grande switcher that is reasonably quiet at slow speeds and performs well at slow speeds too for a motor of that type.
