今天和各位講正知正見
Today I want to talk about
right understanding and view.
我們信仰佛教要有正知正見
Taking faith in Buddhism,
you should have right understanding & view.
你要想做人你要有正知正見
When you want to be a good man,
you should have right understanding & view.
你在這個世間上
When you
在機關服務、在哪裡工作
serve or work in an institution,
你都必須具有正知正見
you should have right understanding & view.
知 知識
Understanding is knowledge,
知識很好很重要
and knowledge is good and important.
一個人沒有知識人家看不起
A man without knowledge
will be despised by others.
但是這個知識你要正派
But the knowledge that we
talk about here has to be upright
要正當的知識
and proper.
你不能邪見的知識
You're advised not to have false views.
知也會生病
Sometimes
你看我們知道的知
understanding can be sickening
加一個病字頭那就是愚痴了
and become ignorant.
聰明反被聰明誤的人好多
There are many people who are
too clever to be wise,
自以為他聰明
yet they think they're wise enough,
那個邪的聰明、假的聰明
having only vicious wisdom,
fake wisdom,
不正當的聰明
and improper wisdom.
這個知識也沒有用
The knowledge they have is also useless.
這個正知就要有正的見識、見解
Right understanding is correct
knowledge and view.
比方說
Say for example,
在佛教講正知正見
Buddhism promotes right
understanding and view.
比方我們相信人生
Take for example, we believe there are
有過去、現在、未來
past, present and future lives.
這個人生有過去、未來的
Life is of past and future.
人生不是只有一世
Life is not limited to a lifetime.
這就是正見
This is right view,
相信有因有果
by which one believes in causes and effects.
這個世間必定有善惡因果的
In this world there is certainly
good and evil as well as causality.
所謂善有善報 惡有惡報
Good begets good; evil begets evil;
不愁不報 時間未到
it's only a matter of time.
你要相信有善人、有惡人
You have to believe there are
virtuous people and wicked people.
有善惡、有好壞
Men are good or evil, or good or bad.
這個是善的我要和他相交
Befriend with wholesome men,
這個壞的、惡的我不能和他靠近
and keep away from bad elements.
所以這個正知正見
So right understanding and view
對我們的人生是非常的重要
is extremely important to our lives.
如果你這個知識不正
If your knowledge is crooked,
見解不正
or your view is crooked,
你做事、處人看法錯誤了
or you've a wrong view on being a man
and handling affairs,
你走到邪道上去不走正路
you embark on an evil path rather than
treading upon a correct one.
你怎麼會走到好的前途呢
If so, how could you get good prospects
怎麼有好的結果呢
and good result?
所以信仰宗教或者你學佛
So in religious faith
or when studying Buddhism,
我想最重要的正知正見
I think the most important thing
is right understanding and view.
那一個宗教好不好
To judge whether a religion is good or not,
要看這個宗教的裡面的教義
we need to check if its tenets are
正不正、善不善
right or not right,
wholesome or unwholesome,
清淨不清淨
pure or impure
善美不善美
wholesome or ill,
我才要相信它
before you start to believe them.
假如說
Say,
就是交朋友吧
like making friends,
對了 我看到你這個人
When I see that you
不是好像善良之輩
do not look like a wholesome man,
我和你來往了以後我會吃虧
I'll know I'll become put-upon
after getting along with you.
所以我也要知道
I should also know that:
你講話要很正派
be upright when you talk
你做事要很正派
and accomplish tasks.
你給我感覺到你很正派
You make me feel that
you are very upright.
我就覺得很安全
I will then feel that it's very secure
和你來往做朋友
to make friends with you,
沒有未來的不好的事情發生
as nothing bad would happen in the future.
所以因此
Therefore,
自己做事自己也要正派
we need to be upright in work.
我們在看這個世間
When we look at this world,
也要有正知正見
we need to have right understanding
and view.
正知正見的人生
One who has right understanding
and view in life
才不會吃虧
would not be put-upon
才不會受苦
or thrown in sufferings.
才會幸福
Instead, he becomes blissful
無災無難
and is free of disasters.
