100%. The effortless nature and fluidity of his playing is incredible. At 53 I'm not sure i'll ever be able to play as well as Brian, but i will continue striving for greatness :)
Saw this man back in mid 90's at a bass guitar clinic in San Antonio. Impressive then and awesome to still be hearing your brilliant work. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely, unequivocally the greatest unsung hero of bass with nowhere enough credit. Thank you for being the influence you’ve been for me and my playing career all these years.
He’s the man! Carvin endorsed him several years ago. Played some great stuff. Check out his Jaco interpretations. I just listened to Teen Town off that. He did a CD of his versions of Jaco. Fantastic !
This man should be in the Bass players hall of fame. His innovation on the instrument are unmatched. Man who else y’all know can make a bass sound like a nylon string guitar who
personal preference...I wouldn't say unmatched especially with players like Marcus miller... Victor wooten Stanley Clarke...Brian sounds great a balanced style reminiscent of a gospel bass player...but i hear marcus millers tone in his bass
This guy is fantastic. When you can convey your personality through your playing, you've got something special. Just found about him about a week ago when I started following a Jazz Facebook page. Like so many artists, they fly under the radar. I'd like to see him with Victor Wooten, and Stanley Clarke in a B3 concert.
I Truly love Brian's bass playing particularly his upright tones. His electric playing was also phenomenal! One wonders how someone can find the time to truly master both instruments the way he does. On the electric he slaps, taps, plays harmonics, chords and gets a beautiful tone playing fingerstyle. The high registered bass sounded wonderful too but I found myself missing the deep dark beautiful bass tones. It sounded to much like Wes Montgomery on guitar to me. But none the less each artist has his or her way of self expression and thats fine.
Yea, he's a big fan of Piccolo Basses, which, pretty much reach the low end of a guitar. Match that with Wes' inability to use a pick (lol, what a hack, right?) and it's basically the tone you're getting XD
Hi Brian Ive been telling everyone I play or Jam with or meet with world wide about you from New Zealand through Noumea to St Petersburg & everywhere in between for years. Name it Red Sand because when u played the first phrase I saw the Grand Canyon pop up in my mind & the red Sand & rock at sunset.
Is that a Carvin Brian's playing on "Bass Face"? Looks like the Carvin name on the headstock to me (even though my reading sight isn't what it used to be).
Saw BB with the Downright Upright All-Stars at the Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis about 12 years ago and was blown away!!! Bromberg on the acoustic bass AND the electric bass...INCREDIBLE!!! Not to mention, Dave Weckl on drums!!!
Mister Big Bang said once to myself: un paranoïaque: c'est docteur ch/TIQUE.... un mec bien? c'est docteur CHTAK....juste collé en gravité à la poussière du CHTIQUE...pour l'appeler CHTIK..
easily one of the best bassist Ive ever seen

Brian Bromberg is such a great player! He truly deserves more recognition for his work.

One of today's incredible acoustic bassists. His electric virtuosity is epic.
My brain just blew up, aaaand hitting the replay button.

I’d rather see just Brian and Victor; Stanley ruins it, imho.
Saw Bromberg at Ram's Head Tavern in Annapolis about 10 years ago with the Upright All-Stars and Dave Weckl on drums.
My jaw STILL hurts!!!
His dick must be huge.
My Goodness I LOVE This Brian!! (A bass playing wannabe in your hometown Tucson)

Well... I mean... the deep dark beautiful bass tones are happening in the backing track...
Yea, he's a big fan of Piccolo Basses, which, pretty much reach the low end of a guitar. Match that with Wes' inability to use a pick (lol, what a hack, right?) and it's basically the tone you're getting XD

This guy knows his finger board...!
oh, piccolo strings in the last one, nice :)
Question: is he using that ampeg on all three songs? Anybody able to see?
Is that a Carvin Brian's playing on "Bass Face"? Looks like the Carvin name on the headstock to me (even though my reading sight isn't what it used to be).
The first track sounds like a Jaco Pastorius interpretation of the FRIENDS theme song
oh god.....
more like mercy mercy mercy...
Saw BB with the Downright Upright All-Stars at the Rams Head Tavern in Annapolis about 12 years ago and was blown away!!!
Bromberg on the acoustic bass AND the electric bass...INCREDIBLE!!!
