Hi Howard, I so enjoy you're lessons, they make me feel so relaxed and confident, I wished that you would have been around when I started in the late 1950s/1960s, all I had was my British Bert Weedon 'Play in a Day' book, no video, no TV and no RUclips! Take care and many thank for FAB lessons.
Thanks so much :-) Yes, back in the day, we were hard pressed to even catch clips of our favorite guitarists playing live... Things have changed. Thanks again - Howard
One of the greatest love songs ever written. Glad I got to see the Moody Blues perform it live in my lifetime. I taught myself the chords years ago by ear but I never considered doing the little riffs you put in there. I will now. Thank you.
Appreciate your lesson. That little lick/riff (Lower Octave) caused me some severe issues. Now I got it. You're right the Lower Octave (to me) fits in better. Thank you so much! 🎶🎶🎶
Thanks for posting. I had learned to play this one awhile ago and it sounded off because I learned to play it in 4/4 time rather than 3/4. Adding the embellishments throughout also makes it sound a lot fuller!
Hey Howard, I’ve watched several really good tutorials on this song, and I want you to know you are head and shoulders above all the others! I’ve learned more from your tutorial than any other. I think part of that is because of your teaching methods. To me, it seems everything you teach I instantly understand what you teaching. There’s some pretty good instructors on You Tube but a lot of them I just don’t where they’re coming from. With you, it clicks! I’ve also learned through your video that this song can be as easy or as complicated as you want it to be. I chose to be complicated. It is my goal to learn every riff and embellishment that you teach. This is one of my all time favorite songs and I want to do it right. Outstanding video, thank you so much for taking the time to do it. You are a blessing! Btw…even though I’ll be singing it, I want to do the shuffle. I’ve listened to this song since it was first released and I never caught that. Excellent catch! 😎👍🎸
Howard thank you for such a great lesson. Your lessons are so clear and detailed. Your “Tangerine” lesson was superb! This is just as good! As a beginner I find you to one of the very best instructors. I finally can play Tangerine start to finish using all your embellishments now work on this song. Thank you!!!!!!!
Great lesson!. I think it was played on 12string guitar when first recorded. Thank you for posting and sharing your knowledge, of not only this lesson but all your lessons that you post. Thanks Howard - James 🎸
Hi Howard - thanks for doing the hard work here. Would you consider putting up a lesson for "Return of the Prince" - Rush [from Caress of Steel / Necromancer part III]?
