Do you mean head voice? She already support G#5 in head voice since 2020. If you meant mix voice than she has a really nice placement, but Taeyeon is a very chesty beltter. If she want to support G#5 than she needs to be less chesty
@@tisong2817 i'm not totally sure on the g5s, but the the eb5 before the sustained d5 was good, but the ones on the bridge were a bit too closed and tense.
Lmao that Some Nights edit had me rethink my life decisions I thought I heard it wrong in the live 🤣 I honestly loved 5:18 that section more after hearing it in the live clips it sounded better than in the official audio imo. Amazing video as always btw!
god i wish she did it! i considered editing it to be more convincing, but that was a bit much LOL... and yess i think her voice in the live performance had a lot more weight and impact to it
Taeyeon chesty, round and full mix voice will always be my favorite. Really has a different level of quality. She may not support G5 in mix voice but her placement is so good that why it's sound better than other top vocalist G5s
Placement on mixed G5s? That's not what good placement up there would sound like, she's pulling way too much chest up the scale and placing the note too low, resulting in a shrill, shouty sound. A well-placed G5 would be something like what Kelly Clarkson or Son Seungyeon have. The mixed G5 in this video isn't as bad as her usual ones, she's lightening her mix more, hence less shrillness, but the note is still incredibly thin and tense. 5:54, this F5 for example is already poorly placed and pulled. Also her mixing isn't really chesty and full here, it's actually more in line with what people like Wendy do. This is a much lighter and more nasal sound, roundness is palpably absent due to insufficient chest coordination and projection through the nose.
Really appreciate your hard work! Thank you for the video ;) btw I feel like I prefer her voice here compared to the dingo one. Seems like she sounds less nasal here? but maybe I’m not sure if it’s cause of the mic or my untrained ears >_
Great video as always! It sounds to me like she's making a permanent shift to this lighter coordination and nasal projection. That's not necessarily a bad thing per se, it allows her to handle Eb5-F5 in a cleaner way with less noticeable strain (5:41, I know this is studio but this F5 is doing way less damage to her cords than the Step Back ones). I do miss when she used to produce a chestier, fuller sound, however. There are still signs of that coordination existing to some extent, like 3:16, but even when it's there the nasal vowels kinda prevent proper resonance (more obvious at 2:48 and 3:36). 5:48 is another example, this could have been a nice open vowel if she didn't place it in the nose and added more of that TA muscle engagement.
thank you! i think she might be preparing for the natural aging of her voice? i know she's in her prime right now, given that she's in her early 30s, but it'd make sense to change her approach and opt for a lighter coordination to handle what's to come and maintain longevity/vocal health. i do miss her chestier sound, too, but her high belting is so nice to listen to now, so i'll take it lol.
@@taeydream Yea, I think I kind of mentioned something similar before. If you look at the SM vocal trajectory (or even kpop as a whole), there's been a gradual but significant move away from that kind of "Western belting" that we used to hear more in 1st and 2nd gens. We got Wendy in 2014, Doyoung in 2017, and now we have Ningning. They can all deliver healthy singing but not with the kind of advanced development that people like Lina or Jonghyun had. Even better 4th gen singers like Lily aren't going for that level of fullness.
@@taeydream imo her more chestier approach in the past, like in SNSD days 2009 - 2013, was holding her back. She had less freedom in upper belts, so I like both techniques, but I preferes this brighter approach.
@@timorcohen4641 oh, her current approach is definitely far better and healthier, and it's part of why we're able to get so many real soprano moments from her now. i just liked the sound of her chestier approach like g4-c5 because it sounded really full and gorgeous, but even with her current approach, her resonance down there is still insane and beautiful.
@@saltedpeanut4098 she seems a bit rusty, which is fair since she's sort of out of practice. the 2nd seoul show was the best so far; the timeless c5s were very good (although the one at the end of the bridge started a bit flat), and drawing our moments was surprisingly nice, particularly the big eb5. nothing super new, but i guess the "new normal" for taeyeon (eb5s and g5s are usually pretty solid).

excuse me if I find your comments funny, dear musical gourtmets....I imagined you all destroying a beautiful plate with your stuck noses and pursed lips "delicious", but a little more of this and a little more of that, I would make perfect oh oh oh. do they even know how to sing or put two running notes that sound good??
She's been solidifying her G5 lately, hope she supports G#5 more consistently soon as well 🙏🏽

finally!! I hope she sings the entire album, though! still waiting for "Siren", "Set Myself on Fire", etc. Thank you!
i was waiting for timeless before doing this video, but unfortunately, i think her doing invu means she’s done :( and of course!
I mean, she has a new playlist titled "weekly pick" and there are still enough songs until SNSD's comeback, so she'll release weekly updates/lives !!
I just discovered your channel. Love the Taeyeon content. Instantly subscribed🤗
