I agree with what you have said. My walking shoes also caught on the raised area around the perimeter of the piazza. I stumbled a couple of times, but thankfully didn’t fall. I also agree with the sizes of the venues being too small for this size ship. I always try to see every show offered, but I missed a few which makes me sad. I thought the shows on the transatlantic sailing were excellent, but I enjoyed the ones I saw on the Mediterranean sailing, too. I wanted to see the show To Fly in the dome, but the day they announced it both in the Patter and on my journey app, the show they had was one called Blue and the next night they offered the show Blue and I didn’t feel like going up and waiting an hour to see if they were actually going to show ToFly. The show I liked the Best in the Dome was something called Love ??. The Princess Live where they had Trivia, Games and lectures were extremely difficult to get into. A lot ofjjk people would go in there for one thing and just stay for the second thing, so the seats never turned over. We had the plus pkg for the first two weeks in the Mediterranean and the premium pkg for the transatlantic sailing. I love seafood, but was so disappointed in what I ordered and the slowness of service at the Catch by Rudi where we celebrated our Anniversary. I did love their serving dishes, especially the fish shaped water pitcher. I loved our meals at Crown Grill, Sabatini’s, and Umai Teppanyaki. My neighbor makes the best shabu shabu, so we skipped the Umai Hot Pot. I love sushi, but skipped Mankato, and skipped Butcher Block by Dario, because it just seemed like too much meat and nothing else. We skipped going to Love by Brito, and Spellbound, because they both cost more and are not included in the Premier pkg. We enjoyed the food and music in O’Mally’s enjoyed and enjoyed Alfredo’s Pizzeria, but always asked them to cook ours well done to get the crust crisp. Wish I had know that the pizza on the promenade was different from the one on the pool deck. Loved the chicken tacos and hamburgers up on Deck 17 by the pool. I thought the selection of foods in the Eatery was very good. Even after being on the ship 4+weeks plus 2 extra days due to Hurricane Milton, there were things I never had time to do or parts of the ship we didn’t see. This ship is a beautiful ship and loved the size and arrangement of our mini-suite, but not all types of cabin’s are arranged the same way. I hated the height of the rods to hang your clothes-they were installed by people over 6 feet tall. I felt people shorter than me would have needed a step ladder, plus the hook on the hanger turns around so easily, it sometimes took me several attempts before I got the hook on the hanger in the right position to hang it up. Loved the bathrooms, storage in the rooms and the extra outlets, so I didn’t need to use my extra multi-plug. Would I go n the Sun Princess again. maybe.

Your mid-cruise review tracks with everything I’ve read and watched so far. It appears to be a beautiful ship with great dining, excellent entertainment, and a dedicated crew that’s plagued by very poor design choices. The scrapping of Park 19 and the major reshuffling of restaurant locations just months into service is indicative of some very questionable planning and design choices.
It seems like they were aiming for a small ship feel with intimate spaces but have underestimated capacity needs in most of the venues. There’s not really much you can do to remedy that other than offering show reservations and adding more showings. But is it sustainable, fair, or even safe to make the cast and crew of the shows to regularly perform 3 times in one day? These performers already have very demanding schedules.
Really enjoying your updates! Enjoy the rest of your cruise!

I've read many complaints about the extreme ques for both the Dome and Arena. How has it been for you? It sounds like the entertainment areas just aren't designed for that amount of people.

We are going on the Sun 10/14/24..funny, the ship is 30,000 tons bigger than the Royal class ships, yet all the venues are smaller? Weird...at least the cabins are MUCH nicer than the Royal class, which were the WORST cabins we've ever stayed in ( on 6 other cruise lines..)- no sofa, ..nowhere to put your stuff, nowhere to eat...curtained showers...I hate those...awful balcony cabins..nice to see a sofa in the standard balcony cabin, AND a glass enclosed shower! Now, I can shave in the shower and not make a mess!! Thanks for your thoughts..looking forward to your next video!

I never got the appeal of Hot Pot. I’m not laying someone else for the “privlidge” of cooking my own food.
