Pondering if you could 3d print the plug to accept bigger wires and crimp/solder the heavy gauge directly to some compatible pins look like a molex type... really I know it can be done just needs to be designed if it hasn't been already.
Love the videos and your humor!! I ordered this power cord on Monday. He said it comes with a diode I can have put in but Zane said without it it would be just fine. I’m excited! Thanks again!!
I had no idea you have a 300 + lb ass BBi! 🤣😃 Love the 955 man! These are my favorite radio by far even in stock trim. Mine lost a good bit of volume yesterday in the dump truck with smell of burnt electric at the speaker jack.
I knew and had already planned on doing some power cable upgrades on my mud duck station here in vegas, but i had wondered how much difference it would really make. You just showed me, and it is more than i thought it would be. Again, you have educated me, as you always do. KUDOS!!! Diver, in Vegas.
Stands to reason. Back in the days when people had those cars and trucks with huge stereos in them, they had a wonderful product called Monster Cable, and also power caps and tuned amplifiers, Make huge sound but it was clear.
Back in the day, I had 4 gauge wire going from my battery to a distro block, and then about a foot of 8 gauge going to each amp. I had several farad of capacitance because without it, the whole car would dim to about 50% with every bass note. I think I had a total of about 5kW for the whole system, so not crazy, but even at that modest level, the large power wire and caps weren't optional.
All of those things that you highly do not recommend, I'm going to do, right here at home lol. Kidding! Seriously though, nice demonstration. Keep on with the keeping on. 73's
the only problem with having a bench radio that allows you to go into clipping with the mic gain turned all the way up is that you now have to flash the camera over to the radio every time you show the output of an amp to show that the mic gain is indeed still in the middle and not turned up in order to show increased output numbers. the radio may seem more versatile but you have added another burden of proof to what is shown in the videos.
How do the colts basically stay the same on the front of the radio and yet your getting power out faster and more I don’t fully understand how that works any idea bb
The signal level coming out of the vfo is lower than the signal level from the crystals in the mixer stage for frequency generation. If you can increase the signal level output from the vfo it will bring your tx power back up.
I wanna talk about this thumbnail.... lol what exactly is that all about? I scanned the entire video looking for what looked like a electronics vault, haha
Must be poor solder job done on my (10 ga)wire upgrade..I had a shop do that upgrade but NOT touch any tuneing..I did chk resistence on my wire from connect of radio down to my rigs batterys and all is good...So must be how it was soldered to the inside..

No response as usual. This is why people go to Walcott and other horrible places to buy a CB. Its because the knowledgeable people DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO BUSINESS!!!
Very good demo of what starving a radio vs feeding it decent does for voltage drop!!

Interesting for sure. A local guy here does the wire upgrades as well. I've done these power wire upgrades to my whole shack

I love his work, but I prefer external echo controls. Everything else he does is amazing!
I know you don't like Eagles but, what can I do to get more power thru VFO? When I attach my Siltronics 90 my output fall flat on its face? Help!!!!
