what annoys me and sort of makes me suspicious of a lot of minecraft build timelapses is how you see the builder go around the build like a 3D printer building layer by layer, but in this video you can be seen changing your mind about things, going back and adding details and such, and it's that authenticity that i love.
Thank you. The larger tower was planned, but all the other building were made up on the spot so you can see how I change my mind during build, like you said. It's fun to include those details. It gives the timelapse more life. 🙂
Imo it’s still authentic if it’s planned beforehand, it makes the building process a lot easier and smoother, without discrediting the skill/ creativity of the builder (except if it’s copied but that’s obvious)

its all because builders wants to show u some aestetics and beauty, not the hours of planning and picking the best block-color palettes They always first build in creative(mostly flat world,or same seed) step by step, then do the schematics onto the landscape ( if landscape is not made by hand as well in creative world) And moreover, it looks cool when something beautiful becoming visible layer by layer.
I've read somewhere that "layer by layer printing" is done by destroying already finished building and then playing the recording backwards. So it makes sense there are no adjustments in the middle of "building".
That courtyard is just so perfect. I absolutely love being transported to these gorgeous and ethereal spaces -- thank you for that gift. You always pick the perfect music, too!
You are such an amazing storyteller! I'm all here for the incredible builds, but it's your editing, the music and storytelling, all of it combined is just such a treat to watch! I'm just itching to walk those stairs and gaze out on those views.

You deserve far more subscribers than you have now, a shame building channels don't get much recognition these days.
Love your imagination and thank you for the kind words. There're builders with big channels so I have hope that mine can grow, but it's definitely more niche. I could branch out later but what I've made from day 1 is what I enjoy doing the most, so I don't see that change anytime soon.

Of course I love the build overall, but I wanted to comment on a detail that deserves highlighting - I am a HUGE fan of castle and fortress-like builds that look like they're hewn from the very rock on which they're built, and it is a FANTASTIC look here. Like the architect and the stonewrights all laid eyes on this particular hill and said "We're going to carve the building out of this mould."
Mate, you're just simply insane. What impresses me The most is honestly your patience. I think I'm good builder in Minecraft, but I don't have enough patience to finish my bigger projects. And if I've seen everything right, you're not using world edit. It makes your work even more impresive

Thanks you! I'm not sure yet. There's only so much time available so I have to figure out what build to prioritize for a tutorial. I will do another tutorial series after The Sanctum and I will post a poll to see what builds most people want to build. Also, this build is context specific so I would have to figure out the best way to do it. It'll probably be more difficult than normal solitary builds, but I'm not saying I won't do it. With enough time I can keep making tutorials but I also want to make a video speaking more broadly to how I design and build, so people can use that to build their own builds.

To me, the Minecraft villagers always reminded me of monks, with their long clothes and their hands hidden in their sleeves. So, seeing them being so lively and populate your Monastery during that beautiful montage at the end was really a great moment, haha ! I love how you used anvils and fence gates for the roof, and connected the spikes with iron bars, it gives it a very unique look. I also really like your spin on this in general, in terms of architecture. A little bit gothic, a little bit romantic, all merged together to produce something truly stunning (please correct me if i'm wrong). What were your inspirations for this one? P. S. 9:28 made me chuckle, hehe. Either someone broke their glass, or the narrator literally burst through the window to get a cinematic shot lmao
Haha, yeah. I imagined a glass being smashed but a dive though a windows sounds more fun XD. Yes, gothic and romantic are definitely what I was going for without being too specific with some of the buildings. 🙂

Thanks! I'm really glad you liked it. A lot of it was spontaneous. This build is closer to my survival builds in terms of approach, but even though it was made in creative, it was very time consuming.

It's a bit difficult right now because it doesn't pay well, but I'm doing it as an investment in the channel and hoping it will pay off at a later point. 😅
Your builds are amazing! I can't believe that you could build these things so fast. I am trying to learn how to do small builds right now in survival, but I aspire to finish a build off with something grand like these! I will keep watching and waiting for the next showcase

Thank you! The main tower was the only one panned. All the other were made up on the spot. But I did place the smaller mountain tops strategically so the placement of each tower was planned in a sense.
I like your builds very much Your shader is very good too, the fog looks amazing but you should change light settings cause the areas with less light are very dark

Every time I see builds like this, it makes me want to open up the game and build myself... only to be sorely disappointed by the outcome. Then abandoned.

Pause at 1:10: I need to remember that technique around the iron bars, where you extend the wall blocks further down into the actual wall. I think it plays into the ideal of "embracing minecrafts rules" you talked about in your design process video, it looks a lot more like some person within the world wanted the walls to be fluted there, and less like some player just placed walls at the top and the game made them look that way. I know you basically cover it up immediately here, but I feel like the wall could be left like that in more minimalist builds. It should also work just as well with fence gates instead of the iron bars, for more variety.

Thank you so much! I've been playing Minecraft since it's inception, but I've also been away from the game for years at a time. My passion was reignited in 2021 where I began to build less rigidly. I began using blocks for other things than their intented purpose. This probably sounds wierd because nowadays everybody used things like trapdoors for decorating, but I didn't at the time. I will do a video about my process. Soon hopefully. 😉
Thanks! I did some adjustments but the mountain is there in the seed. In fact, I will post the seed in the description when I can. I usually create a lot of new seeds untill I find the right one for a particular build. 😊
Videos like this remind me that the communities that enjoy franchises like Minecraft should always be the primary source of inspiration for the IP holders when making new elements and implementing certsin things. I alwaya hate seeing the original content gemerated in the game because it lacks so much finer detail and passion that things like this are bursring at the seams with

Thanks! I did some adjustments but the mountain is there in the seed. In fact, I will post the seed in the description when I can. I usually create a lot of new seeds untill I find the right one for a particular build. 😊
