Technically speaking a man not driving a truck is not a truck driver. In this case he is a pedestrian.
That's true😂😂😂😂
If the President was walking down the street, would he also just be a pedestrian?
@@desertodavid No but here it is mentioned truck driver so everyone will assume that he is driving the truck
@@abhijeetgorai242
The whole point of this channel is to get people to think outside of the box and look at problems differently, also to NOT assume things.
@@desertodavid yet they assume a lot of things!! .. break a pill in half! really!
Puzzle #3: "It's never mentioned that they were on the same side of the river" - By that same logic, it's never mentioned that there wasn't anyone else around, so if they're on the same side, the first boy crosses the river, then asks someone who wants to go on the other side to use the boat, and then the other boy crosses the river too.
or that they can't swim the boat over holding on to the side.
It's also never mentioned they want to stay on the other side
One boy crosses the river, comes back, and the second boy crosses the river.
They both crossed the river :)
Or the width of the river. It was only as wide as the boat so all the bots had to do was step on to the boat and then off. The boat didn’t have to move other than supporting their going from one side to the other.
@@skylardeslypere9909 This is my favorite alternate answer
@@venwik5278 Good alternate answer.
Puzzle #5 - "it's never mentioned that he was driving the truck" - I got some more like these: It's never mentioned that the police officer was on duty, so didn't intervened. Or, it's never mentioned that the police officer was corrupted, and the truck driver paid him to let him drive through. Or, that the police officer was busy arresting someone on another case so couldn't intervene. Or, that he just didn't give a fuck because his shift was going to end in 5 minutes and he just wanted to go home.
All of these are right, if you were in an interview and talk about all these scenarios, it speaks about your ability to think all possible scenarios, before answering a question or taking a decision, which is what a corporation wants from an employee, for god know what reason.
Or that he was out of jurisdiction, or that the truck was from the local fire department / police department / ambulance company with lights and sirens, or that it was a parade and the street was closed to normal traffic, or that it was cleaning up after a disaster of some sort that blocked the street.
One time I was driving and saw the remains of an accident on the opposite side of a divided highway that completely blocked that direction of travel. The fire engine was on my side of the road going against traffic with lights and siren. I went off onto the soft shoulder. This is something they are allowed to do, and a police officer would just ignore it.
I'm sure I didn't think of some odd scenario that has occurred in real life.
Or they were filming an educational film about traffic safety and the road was blocked off.
Its also possible he was backing into a parking space.
if i get asked these questions in my job interview, id laugh and quit
It was never mentioned this was good set of puzzles
And they aren't, are they?
All trick questions. Never assume anything. Hate to spend too much time trying to solve. Lession from this: Dont assume a puzzle is not a trick .
I thought the truck driver was Neta ka Beta and the police wala was Neta ka Chamcha😂😂

It is ok if you break a tablet
But you cant do the same with a pill....you ll loose the powder medicine inside it.
Exactly
I thought the same way as he potray the image of capsule.
But its not a capsule.
Its a pure pill.
exactly what is the use without the medicine
Pill means either Tablet or Capsule. Capsules cannot be broken, but tablets can. Pill is intentionally ambiguous to add difficulty to the puzzle.
Power of tablet is not a issue

@@puzzlemaster8047 Your comments are disabled. That's... not very inviting for a puzzle channel.
bro i have an another approach to your red fish and blue fish question
solution : remove 2 red fishes and add 2 blue fishes.Calculate the % you will get the same 98%
In first puzzle we can make a powder of the pills and mix them. Then we can take half of the powder.
That's risky, maybe % wise not gud
Also that would probably taste worse
@@allthingsian6852 wow I don't even remember this comment, let me see the video first 😁
@@allthingsian6852 well, pills dont already taste good, and its about surviving
@@marcothephoenix3706 ya, I agree the given answer is better
2:58 : Uhmm, Why not this.....
First boy crossed river and reached other side, returned back with boat
Now, second boy crossed river using boat.
(He may return or maynot return).
Conclusion : Didn't you see both the boys do managed to cross river which satisfies the puzzle's conditions, but only thing is they may or maynot be on same side..🙂
Grammatically, with given information wasn't I correct😌😌?
you are right ...
yes this was also my solution. and if you leave out the first part of the story where one boy goes first to the other side, it's identical to the official solution, where both start at opposite sides
Don't give such puzzles where answer is starts from this never was mentioned
Last puzzle ans at 4:20, the police officer may also be retired...
Since the question doesn't say he's on duty
Or the police ofccier was blind since the quistion didn't say that he can see
If that so he was mentioned as 'ex'
4:15 even the police was driving in opposite way. Lol
Its never mentioned in the puzzle, but the blind man can suddenly grow new eyes.
For people who didn't understand puzzle 2:
99% of total fish=198
Let x be the number of red fish to be removed.
So the equation we can say becomes..
198 - x = 98% of (200 - x)
Therefore x equals 100 on solving.
Kegen Rodrigues can you make the equation more clear please?
mrmamdao mrmamdao The total number of red fish remaining in the bowl is 198-x which is equal to 98% of (200-x)
Where 200-x is the total fishes remaining after removing x red fishes.
So we take 98% of the new total.
Since its mentioned in the question to make the percentage of red fish 98%.
By removing 2 fishes ,
196 fishes also equals to 98% ??
@@-Rishikesh Nope, if you remove 2 red fishes the total amount of fishes will be 198..196/198 equals 98,98 %
@@-Rishikesh There are 99% of red fishes out of 200 (that is 198 fishes) but only 1% of other fishes (that is only 2 fishes) . If the red fishes becomes 98% then the other fishes are 2% but the number of other fishes (i.e. 2) will not change. 2 fishes are 2% of 100. So remaining 98 fishes are red.
No of fishes removed = 198-98=100.
First puzzle was definitely a nice one 👌👌👌👌
how did you know that the man is a truck driver if he wasn't driving a truck? where is the logic in that?
''The boy can only take one BOY at a time'' so I guess one of them get there gender changed better than your answer lol
this one is epic...
Pills: dissolve them all in water, drink half the water.
One way: He's repairing the road, and drivibg a construction truck.
The blind man was in a desert and only had a container containing 4 pills so ...using water is a wrong approach unless specified in the question
196 of 200 also makes 98 percentage ... So he can remove only 2 fish
The video says "remove", not "replace". So if you remove 2 red fish, there will be 196 red fishes and 2 other fish. (196/198)x100 = 98.9%. So you are wrong.
Removing 2 red fishes will make it 196 out of 198.. not 196 out of 200
I thought of replacing
@@aravindhcricketer Thank you so much for ur reply. I too had this doubt
@@aravindhcricketer There is no such thing as fishes, so your comment makes no sense....
Sir, but isn't it more convenient to simply remove 2 red fishes to make the percentage as 98%
:) no.... first of all calculate number of Red fish... 99% of 200 is 198... if you remove just two red fish, then total fish would be 198, and red fish would be 196.... calculate %.... 196/198 x 100 = very close to 99%.
But if u remove 100 red fish, then total wud be 100 and Red will be 98.... which is a perfect 98%
That's why it's an interview question. The "obvious" answer is wrong. The right answer is non-intuitive. It can be solved with algebra.
Also in the boat puzzle even if they are on same side, one of them can sit on the boat and paddle and other can hang in water clinging to the boat.
or just 1 guy crosses, takes the boat back and then the other guy crosses. It didn't say they can't return just that they had to cross.
Removing two red fish making 98% precentage
Remove two red from the 198 makes it 196 red fish + 2 blue fish = 198 total fish....
@@ilnerdy Ahhhhh, I see now, better delete my comment and save myself the embarrassment lol
Yeah even I think this is correct
If the person is blind, how can he split the pills into exactly half ? It should have been 'color blind'
well the tablets generally have an inscribed line at the middle which is meant for breaking into two halves..... also shown in video....
But the second part of your comment is also logical... 'color blind' would make more sense :)
and even he has to keep other half separate while breaking and eating each time... it could be the case he breaks pills into halves and eat that 4 halves of red pill only
He's only got 2 days worth of pills, he's on an island by himself and blind...he's probably best not to take any and get it over with lol
even he said no other combinations allowed so that's a different combination tho..
and also how can he measure the quantity ?
when the two planes meet the one that left London will be closer by 1 plane length.
No, either compare heads of the plane or tails, you chose head for the one which is coming to London and tails for the one leaving.
@@MotaMuhBadiBaat Wrong! When the two heads of the planes meet the tails will be 2 plane lengths apart. Therefore one will be 1 plane length closer to London.
@@markpotter1279 lol
they will be flying at different altitudes so one will be closer. also when the noses meet most of one plane is still closer. dumb word games.
Lol u never mentioned there is only one boat
。。。 he said “a boat” which means one
It's also mentioned that 2 boys wish to cross the river which means they both sud cross it their opposite sides as they are on opposite sides which isn't possible.
He said nothing about a boat I heard boot 😂😂
In last puzzle hw ..the police knew he was a truck driver if he was walking on street
They didn't know they were seeing a truck driver, but it was still a truck driver they were seeing. It's like not knowing what the moon is and seeing it, it's still the moon.
He didn't say police knew that he was a truck driver.
I'm thinking another possible solution for the "truck driver" puzzle is that the truck driver is going in reverse. A lot of these questions seem to hinge on fuzzy definitions or mistaken assumptions.
#1: It took a few minutes to me to understand the solution of the first puzzle, which is s great one! This is very similar to the solution of the two ropes puzzle, each of them burning in 60 min and you are asked how to measure 45 or 50 min with them. The concept is the same: breaking the pills or turning on the ropes from the two sides, in both cases an action transform an impossible problem into an easy one. So what we learn from all this? When we do not see a solution according to the initial or boundary conditions, it is worth to try to change one of these conditions and then attack the problem with the new framework.
#2: it’s just calculus
#3: there is another solution of the puzzle: even if they are on the same side of the river, they could use the boat with one on the top and one following. This is possible because point 1 says only that the boat is the only way to get to the other side, not to the middle of the river, so from point 1 we understand that the boys can reach at least the middle of the river. In the middle they switch, the one swimming go on top, the one on the boat follows by swimming. In this way all the conditions are respected and the boys resch the other side by boat. They both used the boat to cross the river.
#4: it’s funny 😆
Nah, 1st one is indeed like one about the ropes, but in another way. You see, an active substance in pill is not distributed evenly and there is no guarantee that you will not get 100% in one half and 0% in the other. That is hot pills made and work. So you can not break the pill and make any assumptions about that.
@@alsto8298 exactly what if its a capsule .The candle or rope question makes sense atleast
#2 is not calculus, it's a trick question. Your brain, used to similar sounding riddles, already starts calculating fractions once it hears about the speed of the planes; but the question requires no calculations, merely understanding that the planes are at the same place when they meet so they're the same distance from any single location.
@@mrcombustiblelemon2902 he means the fish riddle, I think you mean riddle #4?
Ly: It was never mentioned that they were on the same side
Me: It was never mentioned that they have to be on the opposite side at the same time. The other boy can go to the other side when the first one returns.
Yeah. Being on the opposite side is the same like being on the same side, but one boy goes first and then comes back. Technically they both crossed the river in the end. This riddle is riddlediculous.
It could be done even if the two boys were on the same side. Boy A could cross the river. Then cross the river back again to boy B. Then, boy B cross the river. Sure, they are in the opposite sides now, and boy A did not change his original location, but technically, both of them crossed the river by the same boat.
These are some M Knight Shamalyan style puzzles. What a tweest! Let's look closer at the plane question: It says "when the planes meet, which one will be closer to london?" The answer is clearly the one leaving from London, as the planes will make radio/radar contact and meet when the aircraft are still hundreds, if not thousands of miles apart. He said "meet" not "crash."
Even if he intended to say "when the planes PASS eachother" it would still not be equal. Airplanes aren't weaving around visually evading each other. Air traffic flying in intersecting directions fly at significantly different altitudes. So, assuming identical (but opposite) flightplanes, the one flying at the lower altitude would be simultaneously closer to both destinations than the one passing it at a higher altitude.
No matter what, there will still be one instant at which they are both the same distance from London.
There are also a lot of definitions of the word "meet". Using a different definition then the naturally expected one is a very common component of riddles - such as using "truck driver" as in 'someone who drives trucks for a living' as opposed to 'someone who is currently behind the wheel of a truck').
3:20 Actually plane B would be closer, but only by the length of the plane since it will be right in between the other plane and London.
If this doesn’t quite make sense, send me a message and I can clarify further!
i was unable to understand this one
Nice logic interview puzzles. Thanks for it.
#1 Breaking in half may be good enougth but never exect. But an exact solution was asked.
The enunciate of the 3rd one should be: Two boy wish to be in a side of the river.
Being Two boys wish TO CROSS (doesn't matter the side, they both want to cross the river) the puzzle is incorrectly proposed.
they both crossed the river, the first boy got on the other side and then the other boy, standing on this side, crossed the river
Cool puzzles! We love learning this stuff 😎
If what you like to learn is that people will try to trick and scam you by exploiting technicalities and incorrect implicit assumptions.
Wait it said BOTH of the boys wished to “cross the river.” That really confused me.
You can simply remove 2 fishes to make 98% ratio
196/200 lmao
You're not only removing 2 from the redfish. You are removing 2 from the total 200 fish in the bowl. 196 red + 2 blue = 198 total fish. Which makes it not 98% ratio.
Red fishes puzzle was a very smart one. 1:18
No it's not, it's about solving the equation (198-x)/(200-x) = 98/100. You were taught that in elementary school.
Woahhh these riddles are too cool. I love it
Liked the pills puzzle. The channel is a good food for the brain!

Puzzle #3 "It's never mentioned that they were on the same side of the river" are you talking about the start or the finish? Because if they started in the same side then with a minimum of 3 trips, they could both cross the river:
Boy #1 crosses the river (trip #1). Boy #1 then returns (trip #2) and passes the boat to Boy #2 who then crosses (trip #3). Congratulations. Both boys crossed the river in a boat that holds one. They started on the same side and ended on opposite sides.
I am know every puzzles
It is also not mentioned that boat is on the bank of river. Thus they can't cross the river.
I have a doubt
What If medicine spills out when he cut the pills into half
Regarding the boat:
If the two boys are on the same side, one boy first crosses, and returns. Then the other boy crosses.
So there is another solution as well to the one already provided.
No, the boys want to remain on the other side, and there's no way to get an empty boat across. It is stated as such in the problem.
i was thinking the same

@@hand2032 No the truck driver one is the same. If he is walking he is not a truck driver

I could make a thousand "it's never mentioned in the puzzle" excuses to break each of these puzzles. How do you know it was a truck driver walking on the side of the road, easier answer is it was the police going against the flow,...... you cannot argue that the two boys are also on the same bank but it was never mentioned in the puzzle that there are no other people on the other side waiting to cross. It was never mentioned in the puzzle that there is only one boat. It was never mentioned.....
1st one thts greattttttttttttttttttt
i think for the puzzle 3 better answer is one went by boat and other by swimming. it would make more sense than the answer he said.

Planes puzzle 🤔🤔
Whichever company asked these questions in their job interview must be bankrupt by now. 😂
1. Cut the pills in half and take 1 half from each of the cut pills.
2. 100. Now 198 red plus 2 = 200 and 98 red plus 2 = 100.
3. Boy 1 crosses the river and returns, then boy 2 does the same. They have crossed the river.
4. When they meet, they will be the same distance from London.
5. He is walking.
Same question asked by TCS ON 6oct 2018 ..good luck

Puzzle 5
Walking on the road is offence
It's called jaywalking
Please use sidewalk/footpath
nahhh saying 2 planes then immediately showing NYC 💀💀💀💀💀💀
there's a solution for riddle 3 even if the 2 boys are on the same side of the river:
One of them crosses the river, and then looks for any person who needed to cross to the opposite side. then the other boy will have the boat back and will be able to cross.
What? far fetched? As far fetched as expecting a blind man to cut four pills exactly by half, with his bare hands (or even using a knife, would be hard to achieve an exact 50% cut) ;)
Bhaii aap percentage puch rahe ho Red Fish ka...hum 2 fishes remove karenge usme se...then 98% banega.
Then total fish will be 198
196*100/198= 98.9
I still don't know why the cop didn't stop the truck driver from Jay walking.
superb....really interesting....
Very easy question
It’s also never mentioned in the puzzle that crossing in order to stay on the other side is their goal, so technically if they were on the same side, the first boy can cross and come back and then the second boy can cross and come back and therefore both boys would have crossed.
Pills cannot be broken into two parts! Tablets can be, common sense. Pills are meant to break down only after they are swallowed releasing everything within them.

Your problems are awesome !!! Crongatulations !
In the boat question, even if they were on the same side, one could sit in the boat and the other could swim/float while holding the boat to get across the river. We used to grab a truck in the same way while riding our bikes in our college times, that saved us to pedal our bikes for many miles.

In a hurricane evacuation, you can legally go the wrong way on a road, as all roads lead away from the hurricane
Red fish is wrong. You need to remove only 2 of the 'red fish' to bring the count to 196. THIS is now 98% red fish out of 200.
2 boys crossing river would be.. ONE boy crosses and comes back.. then the other boy crosses and comes back. 'BOTH' boys crossed the river!
This plane ride question is VERY SLOPPY!
Flight B leaving London, flying slower, [until they meet] would always be closer.
Great video
we can also remove 2 red fish onstead of 100 red fish. we should use intelligence this time
Puzzle 4: planes in opposite direction have at least 1000ft separation (RVSM). So, the plane on lower level would be closer to London when both meet.
how do we know that with out knowing the distance between London and New York
oh the planes meet nvm
Question 2 is wrong u have to 98 per out of 200 u calculated for 100. Truck driver means person having truck . The person goinng on road how do u recognise as truck driver
#1 How do you expect a blind man to cut a pill EXACTLY by half? Or even someone with perfect vision?
Matrix: There is no truck.
I don't feel that the 98 percentage puzzle is correct.. or question is not asked in proper way
Raghavendra singh chouhan No, it’s definitely asked correctly
And it has the correct solution.
puzzle 2:
By removing 2 fishes ,
196 fishes also equals to 98% ??
Nope. Coz when you remove two red fishes, no. of red fishes will be 196 but the total no. of fishes reduces from 200 to 198. So 196 is not 98% of 198.
Yes... this should be the right answer.
By removing the new % would be 196/198 which will not return 98%
Nope... That's not correct than the red fish are 196/198... That are not 98%

The plane one was so easy that I started thinking it was a trick
The plane one is slightly inaccurate.
At the precise moment when the 2 planes meet, their noses will be at the same spot, but the rest of the plane that departed from London will be closer to London while the rest of the plane heading to London will be further away from London.
