  • FTA Industry Partner Jeremy Tye interviews Jack Leuba of Quantified Performance who is also Director of Sales for Knights Armament. They talk about the history of the SR-25 platform and look at some of the various versions, changes and improvements that have occurred over the years.
This video was recorded after a long day of shooting in the mountains of Colorado on the spur of the moment so please forgive the lack of production value. We feel the info it contains has enough value to overcome the production short comings. Thanks for watching.

I had the privilege of being trained and led into combat as a boot infantryman by SSgt Leuba in 2010-11. He was a real hardass and perfectionist during our workup training exercises. He always expected and demanded perfection of us. He was never satisfied. He had stern criticisms and constantly pushed us to be better after every exercise, even though our platoon's performance always smoked the other two platoons in our company. Once we were in-country though, he did nothing but hype us up before and after every patrol, telling us how much ass we kicked, and how proud he was of our performance. I firmly believe that it was due to his leadership, and a good bit of luck, that we made it through that extremely intense deployment without taking a single KIA. Jack is the real deal. He brought us ALL home.

I'm in Huntsville, AR, and if you're looking for a dimpled KAC barrel, look at Nefarious Arms. Marvin Pitts, worked at KAC, and his work is the best and as close as you will come to original KAC parts

These guns over rated forsure. They are nice but look at the evidence.

For those who love these but would rather get something cheaper. Get a Diamondback DB10. They use the same SR25 style receivers, they make their own barrels and they are excellent for the price. I bought their basic 16" DB10 for $750 several years ago, and it's just stupid accurate, sub MOA consistently-- to 1 MOA. I've seen that same rifle sell on gbroker for $1300 in 2020- so they aren't quite as cheap anymore now that more people know how well they shoot. They have more of a basic AR10 setup, vs the KAC's proprietary gas system and ambi receivers, and I'm fairly sure they don't have chrome lined barrels (at least not the cheapest one that I have)-- but I think they are nitride at least- , it will have it listed on their site. -- So I'm not really comparing the two--- but I do believe that the receivers are completely compatible. So you could swap uppers with an SR25 and vise versa; so it's a good rifle to throw in the collection if you already own SR25's, just for the compatibility. SR25's are so good, that even a cheaper clone/ copy such as a DB10-- is still an excellent rifle.

Fabulous video guys. Thanks for all the great history. As a proud owner of a 16" SR-25 6.5CM I too can attest to their accuracy. With 140 tipped Sierra's mine just hammers out to 1300 yards. Can't wait to get another one in my hands!

Are APC barrels nitrided in the bore?
