Glad you liked it! I wanted to try out this game for a while, and figured I could tie it to the ongoing 5PFH campaign. There will be more of those in the (near) future as I try out new games ;)
Thanks for the video. I have had my eye on this game for a while and would like to have a solo session to check it out. This video will help a lot when I finally get there :)
I have to say I felt the solo rules are a bit clunky, especially regarding the spawning of enemy ships. In a competitive game, the opponent has the same limitations of you (needig to make a profit), but in solo, it's almost just random. I'm seriously considering writing my version of the rules, especially because it seems the official solo ones never got fully finished. But, please, play! And let me know how was your experience with it.
@@veiledspace Thanks for your reply and your honest opinions of the solo play mechanics. I will keep this in mind when I (finally) get a crack at the game. If you do a rework of the solo rules do you think that you can post or share on FB or BGG? That would great and I'd love to see what you come up with!
Great and Thanks! Take your time! I love the 5 parsecs content. I get it.. I'm looking at Five Parsecs and Five Leagues RN, but Warlord Ascendant from Blackoath Games has me geeked atm. @@veiledspace
It's... interesting, but maybe not the best choice. The theme fits perfectly, especially with the new faction rules in the latest 5PFH expansion, but it's a sufficiently different game that may not be the best compliment. Something with more focus on smaller ships would work best (I'm still looking for it!). My plan for now on is to try more one-shots like that tied into the same universe to see what works. For now, it was worth experimenting
You are making me want to prioritise the in-progress-but-not-yet-completed contract set “The Fringe”. It focuses precisely on smaller ships and smaller “fleets”.
Please, do! I was looking for something in that direction. I got the Warzone expansion, but is not exactly what I was looking for for this story. A focus on smaller ships would totally fit my current narrative ;)
Most of the celonian ships are from Monsterpocalypse. The rest I made using a mix of Star Trek Ascendency, Star Wars Armada and bits and pieces from small scale battleship plastic models
Cool blend of game play and story. Thanks for sharing.
This is such a rad way to present the game! Bravo! 🙌
What an illustrious visitor! Thank you, sir! I'm glad you enjoyed it
Neat little game. And a grate way to add space combat to your Story.

This makes me so happy to see that you've started ABS. One of my absolute favs
Thank you! It was a pleasure playing this game and trying out the solo rules. Making the minis in that scale, though, was quite the challenge :D
Sweet. Makes me want to check out Billion Suns.
It's a fun game! Not the best solo rules (which I don't think ever came out officially), but a great game nonetheless

It sure did look a bit random! Haha
I'll post it in the community tab here on RUclips. Just can't promise WHEN. I need to give Five Parsecs From Home some love first :D

What do you think? Does A Billion Stars compliment 5 Parsecs from Home well?

@@planetsmashergames Dude, Gaslands is my favorite, and now I'm interested in your The Fringe.

I know some are from Star Wars Rebellion, but please tell me where are the rest from?
