Thing is with people complaining or expressing concern that Dewsbury-Hall is a championship player, the same thing could have been said about Barnes, because if we hadn’t signed him (and nobody else stepped in) he too would have been a championship player. And look at how amazing he has turned out to be. In Howe we trust.
If either Dewsbury-Hall or Gibbs-White came they would be playing in a better team and possibly a big improvement in their fitness and quality at the hands of Eddie and the team.
Yes,you could basically say the same about Gordon,if he had stayed at Everton : ongoing relegation drama,and no UCL experience or England international call-up !

i disagree, i think the red numbers were a signature that at least no other club wearing black and white stripes had done, so it was original.

Yes for me for the shirt design. The date came from the Competition tribunal hearing between Sports Direct and NUFC over the new shirts. It was reported to the tribunal that the home strip is due to be launched on 7th June the away kit coming out in July and third outfit in August. Ashley failed in his attempt to get the tribunal to put an injuction in place to force us to supply him with shirts. They said he has to go to court now and sue the club which he is going to do according to the same report but the tribunal reasoning would make it more difficult for him to succeed. We do need to improve the base line of the squad so bringing better squad players is a must for us in the future for us to compete succesfully in Europe and PL at the same time. From what I can see we are also looking at the next squad with the youngsters we are signing such as Lewis Hall, Alfie Harrison etc to supplement home grown players such as Lewis Miley and is another way to increase the size of your squad without impact the squad size limits imposed by PL and UEFA. Sometimes I think there is a hidden aganda with some media journalists (no names here) who come out with these stories not just as click bait but to undermine the club and players such as bruno and Isak as they dont like Newcastle to break their cosy relationship with the so called "big 6"

I love the new kit especially with the colour changing from red to black I’ll take Dewsbury-Hall good player not sure about Gibbs white by the way Mike Ashley never had a leg to stand on he sold the club and were Adidas really going to let him sell Newcastle kits on the cheap no chance 😂😂😂

I like it, I wasn't struck with amazement but it's a nice looking shirt. It's the meaning to us fans that the shirt represents an ambitious future which is important to me.
i like the front badges on the white stripe but would prefer more stripes ( ie 5 instead of 3)

I thought Adidas was going re-do an old classic kit?! That’s what I got from the behind the scenes show the club done and the way they were talking. I saw multi reports we are back in for Manu Kone again in 40mil deal.

Thanks for the update, Paul. I think the new gear will look great. A good article in the Chronicle with Castore which also highlights just how much the cockney FB screwed us for.
As for the squad if they are all fit, the first team isn't that bad. The three up front, even without strengthening is in the top of the league in my opinion. With Anderson, Bruno and Tonali with Willock, J7 and Miley when they come back won't look bad. Schar and Botman with Burn as backup need probably at least another one. Tripps, Tino and Hall are good for fullbacks. with only Pope for fullback we definitely need another two keepers. Longstaff and the two Murphy's are good enough squad players. If Minteh comes back That leaves 5 places to fill. One Marquee player and four squad players and we should be good enough to fight again for Champions League places subject to a good run of few injuries. After all we are in 6th place with the disaster of a season.
At a reasonable guess we will save between £5m and £10m in wages of those leaving on end of contract, approximately £35m on CL income. Addidas, Sela and Noon, I reckon be the same as that again. Add to that TV money, and other sponsorship money and possible sales from the likes of Miggy, Wilson, Hayden and others plus their wages we should have a decent pot for the window.

I dont think we need (even if we could) a handful of marque signing this summer, as you say Paul, this season has proved we need squad members who can come in and do a job, if its for cover or to rotate. this is how we grow.
I think a goalkeeper will be top priority especially depending upon how Pope bounces back. Another striker to take Wilson's place. Midfield and backline should all be healthy by next season whether we play 4 or 3 at the back may dictate additions there. Shirts improving.Teams improving. Ownership massively improved.

I actually think it'll be a quiet window this summer (maybe just Lloyd Kelly if a deal is already on the cards??) - Tonali back will be like a new signing Lewis Hall has really only just started playing and we are going to have to pay for him now too, if we bring Minteh back from loan (he might not want to come of course with Feyenord probably in CL next year). We also have Lewis Miley and Elliot Anderson who have both stepped up this year and the likes of Alfie Harrison to potentially step up as well (and there's Harrison Ashby? the two Irish International lads as well as several under 21/19 very promising individuals). If Dubs and Karius are leaving then a backup GK is a must buy as well as a youngster that can fill in occasionally. A marquis signing would be good though - still hoping for Chiesa at some point!

Ashley doesnt sell NUFC shirts now in his Stores, I went in last September, asked the question. They told me they dont stock newcastle shirts.

Morgan Gibbs-White (England U21 international & only 24) is a better player than Dewsbury-Hall imo but it depends on the fee. MGW would improve our squad and that's what we need.
Strengthening the team & squad in the Summer is imperative in order to convince the likes of Bruno & Isak that we are aiming for the very top & they'll be successful here.
Fairly standard shirt … mild preference for more stripes and happy with black numbering … but needs the grandad collar!!! 💯

The photo I have just seen with some one wearing is a little bit like this but adidas logo is grey and it has grey rain drops inside the black and the white stripes doesn’t look good at all

I actually think we have enough cover in midfield unless we are gonna sell maybe Sean or a joe white so I think we should be concentrating on centre half and striker.

Personally, I prefer the thinner stripes. If the stripes are too thick you lose the stripe effect and the classic image.

For the proper strip it looks ok but for the fans too not so keen on the back of it. Not all fans have a name or number on the back, so it doesn’t have enough stripes on the back for me. The number area is too big without a number.

We all know it’s going to be a multi year building project due to FFP. So if next year we’re fighting around the 4th-6th place area again but make more commercial progress off the pitch then I think we’ll be on track.

I love the shirt, will definitely buy one 🤩, I would definitely take Gibbs White, he is a baller, he would do well for us, we need more depth in the squad.
As much as I hate Ashley, he is right for the wrong reasons, his motivation is making money, but this could effect the price of shirts if JD sports have the exclusivity on our shirts, more retailers selling our shirts helps us get a better price in the sales etc.
I'll bet my farm Adidas and the club got a lot of feedback from the players on the design. Should be dope either way.

The first thing you do is replace the spine of the team with quality from keeper to striker. There is no way we will want to sell any of these players
Got to admit both of those players don't really fill me with excitement but maybe there's a plan we aren't aware of so I just ride the wave lol.
Midfield surely the bottom of our priorities. We've got Bruno 🤞, Tonali, Joelinton, Anderson, Willock, Longstaff and Mikey. We need a striker and pacey central defenders.
According to transfer market Haaland is worth €180 million. Therefore with Isak’s achievement’s this season (in a depleted team due to injuries), and compared to what Haaland has achieved, surely it’s not absurd to suggest Isak is worth say €120 million. That’s still €60 million less than Haaland, yet he is producing close to Haalands figures. But I still wouldn’t sell him for £100 million. We need to keep our world class players to be able to compete at the highest level. Gone are the dark days of Ashley and us being a selling club.
