@@imandan1966 Crony Capitalism and Corporatism isn't 'Capitalism' ... What do you suggest 'comrade'? 😂 Don't worry , Communism is the template for this 4th industrial revolution the central bankers are creating for us. We'll see how much 'better' that's going to be. 🙄💉💉🐑🐑🐑
Thank you for putting these videos on RUclips. I used to watch Sneak Previews on Saturday nights on our local PBS station (WGBY 57 Springfield, MA). I think it was a better show when it was on PBS.
Gene and Roger forgot to add to watch Tron baked if you can...OH We didn't forget, and to this day, including the enormous screen we saw it on, including watching it while High as a Kite...pfft, words almost can't describe the experience.
I know just WHAT they're getting at when they speak of Disney then-recently sucking! .. . Apple Dumpling Gang, The Love Bug, Gus, Freaky Friday . .. not exactly their "classic" period. I was a pre-teen in THAT decade and practically wasn't allowed to see any movie unless it had frigging Disney attached to it and thus saw a lot of that shit in theaters!
I am so fucking glad they liked Tron!!!! Tron is one of the most underrated films of all time and I think it deserves more love and appreciation now more than ever... I don't care how many people hated Tron legacy either I want to see a sequel for tron now #tron #maketron3 #Disney
Kinda see the irony in the statement. Initially a former coworker said about the accusers that "they're a bunch of nasty old whores". I laughed uncontrollably at her statement.
I thought that BROKEN FINGERNAILS scene WAS pretty funny - she goes into a vengeful rage after that (which wasn't shown in the clip there). It's one of the few things that are actually funny in the flick, or, for that matter, all Disney flicks of THAT ERA ( which, as they say, weren't generally good)..
When watching TRON, the MCP voice had a distinct sound... the voice here is not only different from what is in the final film, but it’s obviously an altered version of David Warner (who plays Sark)
Yeah, when I first saw it my reaction was a movie made BY computers, ABOUT computers, and unfortunately FOR computers. I found lacking in emotion and interest.
Creepily, Bill Cosby as the Devil turned out to be more than just a casting decision Disney made for one of the films reviewed here. (Guess which one.)
I used to watch Sneak Previews as a kid. It’s strange to watch it now and realize I’m a fair bit older than Siskel & Ebert were then.
"They do not like what has become of Disney" Neither of them lived long enough to see how evil and greedy they've become.
Yawn, welcome to Capitalism comrade
@@imandan1966 not.
You sure got that right.
Even George Lucas has now awakened to the fact of their misguided, evil greed.

Tron actually looked quite excellent for the time. N64 graphics in 1982.
Tron was so ahead of it's time. I talked about avatars and the internet in 1982. Way before we have what we have now. Such a great movie.
we had avatars aka handles back then. In '82, computer networks weren't new. Year 0 didn't start at your birth.
@@tomservo5007 Maybe so homeboy, but we didn't have computers like we do now. But thanks for the comment.
@@luckymerciless computers are fundamentally the same

Love these Siskel and Ebert reviews, brings back memories! Thanks!
I think I am a movie snob because of these two.

A friend of mine refers to Disney's live action films of the Sixties and Seventies as "shopping cart movies" after the parody of them in MATINEE.
KRhetor Matinee was actually a homage to the William Castle movies such as the Tingler. John Goodmans character is representative of William Castle.
Tron one of my favorite movies
The North Avenue Irregulars looks ridiculous but still seems like it would be ironically entertaining
Geez the name Karen even back then was nothing but trouble LOL!
Splendid edit job, right down to the PBS ID ending. Great
Thank you so much for posting these treasures! I'm a huge fan of your channel.
Siskel would REALLY hate Disney today....
I can't be the only person who noticed Gene's shirt change color at 1:43
RIP Sark aka David Warner.
this movie was so far ahead of its time, and completely mind-blowing when it first came out...there was nothing like it at the time...
c.h.o.m.p.s.?
There's nothing like it now, not even its sequel. I still like Legacy, but the darker tone lost the charm of the original.

Cloris Leechman was 98 years old 67 years ago???
Aww, they ripped the North Avenue Irregulars!
Pfft, "innocent souls" in LA. That's hilarious.

I wonder what they would think of Disney nowadays, now that they own most of the entertainment industry. Essentially all movies are Disney now.
Cosby in hell? Hmmm
Kinda see the irony in the statement. Initially a former coworker said about the accusers that "they're a bunch of nasty old whores". I laughed uncontrollably at her statement.
I haven't seen "tron" but i have seen "tron: legacy". Thought it was pretty cool.

"C.H.O.M.P.S." isn't a Disney movie but an imitation of one, apparently.
I think both of them would have hated what Disney did to Star Wars.
They got back on track (or the tracks) with "Natty Gann" though, huh?
The Incredible Shrinking Woman was a good movie. So was Midnight Madness
I liked "Watcher In The Woods" which actually had 3 different endings featured on the dvd.
She got zapped by a Blu-ray?!
Disney is more pathetic now then they were then.
If only we heard their warnings, and yet we did not listened.
Wow, they reviewed C.H.O.M.P.S. which was the very first movie I ever saw in a theater! Three year old me kind of liked it.
Lynn Holly Johnson would go on to be a Bond girl five seconds later.
I remember seeing her in For Your Eyes Only
I always wonder if it was a real cinema balcony or a TV set.
When watching TRON, the MCP voice had a distinct sound... the voice here is not only different from what is in the final film, but it’s obviously an altered version of David Warner (who plays Sark)
Tron was the first movie I walked out of. I thought it sucked.
Yeah, when I first saw it my reaction was a movie made BY computers, ABOUT computers, and unfortunately FOR computers. I found lacking in emotion and interest.
Nice job editing these together.
Regarding "Night Crossing:, the dialogue was more cornball than the music.
It's literally the only thing interesting about the whole scene.
Yikes, the score for 'Night Crossing' is pretty cheesy.
Disney won’t re-release marvel vs capcom 2 unless it has black lesbians in it
The Black Hole is pretty great, despite a few clunky but lovable robots.
Creepily, Bill Cosby as the Devil turned out to be more than just a casting decision Disney made for one of the films reviewed here. (Guess which one.)
Check out what Reggie Nalder had to say about working with Cosby.
@@KRhetor thanks, I looked it up. He called him a pig. Blows my mind.

The Black Hole rules.🤘
Why is Gene Siskel dressed like Stuart from MadTV?
That's how they dressed way back when
Has Cloris Leachman ever been young?
In the early years of TV
C.H.O.M.P.S. was not a Disney movie.
I hated Tron.
They both liked TRON ? Not for nothing but this movie SUCKED !!!
