    I used to watch Sneak Previews as a kid. It’s strange to watch it now and realize I’m a fair bit older than Siskel & Ebert were then.

    Tron actually looked quite excellent for the time. N64 graphics in 1982.

    Tron was so ahead of it's time. I talked about avatars and the internet in 1982. Way before we have what we have now. Such a great movie.

      we had avatars aka handles back then. In '82, computer networks weren't new. Year 0 didn't start at your birth.

    Thank you for putting these videos on RUclips. I used to watch Sneak Previews on Saturday nights on our local PBS station (WGBY 57 Springfield, MA). I think it was a better show when it was on PBS.

    A friend of mine refers to Disney's live action films of the Sixties and Seventies as "shopping cart movies" after the parody of them in MATINEE.

      KRhetor Matinee was actually a homage to the William Castle movies such as the Tingler. John Goodmans character is representative of William Castle.

    this movie was so far ahead of its time, and completely mind-blowing when it first came out...there was nothing like it at the time...

      There's nothing like it now, not even its sequel. I still like Legacy, but the darker tone lost the charm of the original.

    Gene and Roger forgot to add to watch Tron baked if you can...OH We didn't forget, and to this day, including the enormous screen we saw it on, including watching it while High as a Kite...pfft, words almost can't describe the experience.

    I know just WHAT they're getting at when they speak of Disney then-recently sucking! .. . Apple Dumpling Gang, The Love Bug, Gus, Freaky Friday . .. not exactly their "classic" period. I was a pre-teen in THAT decade and practically wasn't allowed to see any movie unless it had frigging Disney attached to it and thus saw a lot of that shit in theaters!

    I am so fucking glad they liked Tron!!!!
    Tron is one of the most underrated films of all time and I think it deserves more love and appreciation now more than ever...
    I don't care how many people hated Tron legacy either I want to see a sequel for tron now

      Kinda see the irony in the statement. Initially a former coworker said about the accusers that "they're a bunch of nasty old whores". I laughed uncontrollably at her statement.

    I thought that BROKEN FINGERNAILS scene WAS pretty funny - she goes into a vengeful rage after that (which wasn't shown in the clip there). It's one of the few things that are actually funny in the flick, or, for that matter, all Disney flicks of THAT ERA ( which, as they say, weren't generally good)..

    Wow, they reviewed C.H.O.M.P.S. which was the very first movie I ever saw in a theater! Three year old me kind of liked it.

    When watching TRON, the MCP voice had a distinct sound... the voice here is not only different from what is in the final film, but it’s obviously an altered version of David Warner (who plays Sark)

      Yeah, when I first saw it my reaction was a movie made BY computers, ABOUT computers, and unfortunately FOR computers. I found lacking in emotion and interest.
