I think this singer sounds great. He nailed it. I loved this band. Good to see Ronnie could pull the guys back together again. With or without Rod, they sound great !!!!!!
i go back to the Sundown Edmonton 1972 with the Faces and I went to this show. With no Rod or Ronnie Lane it was like watching a tribute act, thing is you can still have a good night with a tribute band and me and the Mrs did. It turned out as good as it was ever gonna be in the circumstances.
Mick does a good job. Probably a dream gig for him, like playing with your childhood heroes. Wonder if that 35 year old cassett of A Nod Is As Good .... is still around some where?
@tet1963 The guitarist to Kenny's left is Jessie Wood, Ronnie's son. He's playing rhythm guitar to, in Ronnie's words, "help fatten up my guitar sound a bit".
@jennifersman Hehe, agreed. Read on line that the personally hand made TZ guitars from the 1970s, are worth around £800’000 these days. The one he’s playing is the second one TZ ever made. Personally hand built for Ronnie’s intended sound. TZ guitars just off the production line, from the 1970s, are six figures. £100’000 minimum. As he only made about 100 in the entire decade
Well, Ronny Wood is playing his million pound (that’s how much it’s worth) original, personally hand made, Tony Zyiakis guitar - the second one he ever made - which is cool. Tony Zyiakis guitars, even off the production line, from the 1970s, are worth six figures. Ones he personally made, are priceless
hey , rod turned down the reunion because he says he lost his rock voice years ago after his illness.he gave mick and the band his blessing, fair play.should the songs never be played again because an original member is not there.
Who was the guitar player to Kenny's left? Mick does a great job, not in Rodder's league but pretty damn good! Stewart should have got back with the guys bet you he will be in 2011 as he won't have a crap solo album of soppy covers to promote!
@ModelCitizen100 Who is this Hucknell bloke you're slagging off. I've never heard of Mick Hucknell. I've heard of Mick HUCKNALL, though. Very good he is too.
Rod Who?....Mick nailed it......with all due respect to Mr. Stewart, he has reached his best before date....Im glad he chose not to tour with Faces, I'd hate to be in the audience cringing.....HopaHopaHope the Faces come to Vancouver on tour, but I wont hold me breath cuz Mick Hucknall doesn't like us very much.....
Thing is, stuff like this shows you the difference between world class, hall of fame voices like guys like Rod Stewart and Elvis Presley, and just very good singers like Mick Hucknall. Have you ever heard Rod Stewart or Elvis ever do a live show, no matter how small, and their voice was drowned out by the band? Where there voice wasn’t the dominant feature of the song
@MrCeej9999 Zemaitis guitars. Don't be silly about the price....a good 70's model will knock you back about 30 grand or so. A later 80s model about 4-5 grand.
@tracygirl2668 Spot on. Rod's a golden oldy now, in saying that so is Hucknall!! :) I'd take Rod over Mick originally, but when it comes to doing it now, the "young" guy wins. Whatever, as long as Ron's doing the do, I'm happy. :)
@hugebigframe but still... it's a bit like if you took Paul and Ringo, and took to others to replace John and George... and then called it The Beatles... this is still great, but, not as good as it was with Rod and Ronnie...
Technology gone backwards... all the clips from 1971 are better quality than this 40 years later...still one of the best songs ever... and Mick Hucknall does well.
@hennebaby anders als Rod Stewart ist Mick Jagger dem Rock n Roll stets treu geblieben ...... Und Rods stimmte passt absolut nicht mehr zu Faces. Finde Mick Hucknall ist ein guter Ersatz ;)
It does sound good, but I gotta side with joriszsz, and jupiter, slam point on woody, yeah u rite. HOWEVER, go to Faces Stay with me live 72. Lane is a groove master, Woody slides on his crystal..FUKN BAND! see ya there!
That Ronnie...the dude is such an icon.Unlike some others of his generation ,he never lost his credibility. These guys still look and sound so good .Hucknall does it alright, but lookin'at the bulk of his recorded material he's just a m.o.r. crooner, and not qualified to front this bunch. There's enough guys out there that could've done better, and looked the part.
I love Rod as much as anyone, but unfortunately his voice is shot and only a shell of what it once was. As good as he was in his day he doesn't even sound like Rod anymore. Also, Rod has has had ample opportunity to get together with the boys and do a real Faces Reunion tour but he has shown no interest in doing it whatsoever. At his advanced its obvious that he would rather sit around singing old Geezer songs then belt out Rock classics with the Faces.
Rod disappeared up his own arse after Every Picture was successful, least he could have done is rejoin the boys for a tour, instead he said he had a covers record to do, pathetic. A once great singer who has no credibility left
Mick Hucknall soll jetzt Rod Stewart ersetzten? Alter, das geht ja gar nicht. Was kommt denn als nächstes? Howard Carpendale für Mick Jagger bei den Stones? Die alten Faces waren der Hammer, aber so möchte ich sie nicht sehen...
uh...no offense but you obviously can't hear to save your life...Mick Jagger is one of the best Rock & Roll singers ever recorded...right up there with Lennon & Elvis
I think this singer sounds great. He nailed it. I loved this band. Good to see Ronnie could pull the guys back together again. With or without Rod, they sound great !!!!!!
Can you imagine how much fun it must be to play that song on that stage with that band!!!!!!
i go back to the Sundown Edmonton 1972 with the Faces and I went to this show. With no Rod or Ronnie Lane it was like watching a tribute act, thing is you can still have a good night with a tribute band and me and the Mrs did. It turned out as good as it was ever gonna be in the circumstances.
This is great Mr Hucknall does a fine job
Mick does a good job. Probably a dream gig for him, like playing with your childhood heroes.
Wonder if that 35 year old cassett of A Nod Is As Good .... is still around some where?
As much as I don't like Simply red, Hucknall has a voice and a half!!! well done sir!
Mick Hucknall...great singer
Man, plugged into Ronnies guitar!!!! RAW as it comes!
Hucknall does it very well!
Good to see the boys can still do it. Hope Ronnie keeps sorted we need guitarists like that.
Ronny Wood man that guitar sounds cool dude
We've been waiting 30 years for this to happen. Very, very cool !!!!
@jmanmango not seeing Ronnie Lane smiling up there with them is the hardest part to accept for me . I think this singer does a fantastic job
@tet1963 The guitarist to Kenny's left is Jessie Wood, Ronnie's son. He's playing rhythm guitar to, in Ronnie's words, "help fatten up my guitar sound a bit".
Nice job, now let's see how Chris Robinson from Black Crowes does it. Love the Zemaitis guitar Ronnie!
r.i.p. Plonk . Troubador , gentleman , musician
sounds great. Ronnie is on fire!!!!
I thought it was the fookin Angry Kid on stage when I first saw this! Ronnies still got it-id have loved to have seen em at their peak
Can't replace the best members!
Ronnie Wood brilliant.
Ron got his shit together!!! Woot!!! :)
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ronnie nailed it! Great band
@jennifersman

Good to see the boys having fun but never the same without Ronnie Lane
Must have been awesome to be there. Only one complaint, the pace is a little too fast but what the hell!
Well, Ronny Wood is playing his million pound (that’s how much it’s worth) original, personally hand made, Tony Zyiakis guitar - the second one he ever made - which is cool.
Tony Zyiakis guitars, even off the production line, from the 1970s, are worth six figures. Ones he personally made, are priceless
thats the guy from simply red
Hucknell has sung and nailed every music genre, jus rap left Micky boy........
hey , rod turned down the reunion because he says he lost his rock voice years ago after his illness.he gave mick and the band his blessing, fair play.should the songs never be played again because an original member is not there.

I miss Ronnie Lane on this as much as I do Rod.
Mick's doin a hell of a great job but it's just not the same without Rod!
@ModelCitizen100

Just 400 punters there? I'm soooo fuckin jealous!!!!
Woody still is gold...
Is that the bloke from simply red?
at around 1:19 he puts the slide on his fingers & it vanishes around 1:28.
Thing is, stuff like this shows you the difference between world class, hall of fame voices like guys like Rod Stewart and Elvis Presley, and just very good singers like Mick Hucknall.

Never the same with Ronnie Lane...

Where,s Tetsu??
@MrCeej9999 Actually I think its spelled Zemaitis
micks a good choice for this song
For members of the Small Faces, the Rolling Stones, the Who, the Sex Pistols and Simply Red, it's not bad.
@hugebigframe but still... it's a bit like if you took Paul and Ringo, and took to others to replace John and George... and then called it The Beatles... this is still great, but, not as good as it was with Rod and Ronnie...
where's Rod!!
Technology gone backwards... all the clips from 1971 are better quality than this 40 years later...still one of the best songs ever... and Mick Hucknall does well.
@joriszsz I think you mean without "Ronnie Lane."
@Tapiola2007 True!
Nevermind. I see now.
@hennebaby anders als Rod Stewart ist Mick Jagger dem Rock n Roll stets treu geblieben ...... Und Rods stimmte passt absolut nicht mehr zu Faces. Finde Mick Hucknall ist ein guter Ersatz ;)
You need Rod
I think they sound good without Rod.
Shame Mick's really trying on his vocal but the original was just effortless on Rod's and was one of teh best ever, good luck trying to keep up
@tracygirl2668 But you didn't see them in '73 did you, that's why you can't understand people's feelings about it.
It does sound good, but I gotta side with joriszsz, and jupiter, slam point on woody, yeah u rite. HOWEVER, go to Faces Stay with me live 72. Lane is a groove master, Woody slides on his crystal..FUKN BAND! see ya there!
Ronnie should have hired Chris Robinson as the singer....
