Don’t want to be annoying, but is there a way to “glue” an item to a ragdoll’s hand, or is there a way to move the item with the hand so it looks like they are holding it?
Usually the easiest way is to weld it but if you have to record it live for particles or something you would record the keys for the welded item too so it moves quicker

If you lower how many frames there are to how many were used, and enter "smh_makejpeg" into the console screen, it will automatically take screenshots of the animation for you. Just make sure not to keep the frames to the default 100 frames or you might be having to shift through a lot (unless you want that).
