You need to do sth creative to become famous (almost equality to rich). Look at Rarran. You don't need to be like him, but you can copy some of his content or at least think of ideas close to his. Crazy, funny, challenging. That's what earns you money.
I like the idea of collaboration videos, like what Rarran is doing. I would love to see you playing games against him, or Zeddy, or Funki Monki, or Chump etc… (insert sideboard here 😂)
I agree, he's a nice dude whose genuine and is entertaining enough but he's getting dragged down by playing a dying card game. What makes it worse, the people that get the biggest viewers on Standard are top players, otherwise it's slim pickings. He's either gotta switch to a whole new game or another gamemode within hearthstone. Valorant would be a great game to stream. It's really blowing up cause it's on console now too

Pretty new subscriber here. Just wondering why this has to be an all or nothing situation? Is there a reason you couldn’t get another job and do content creation on the side? Theoretically growth would be slower etc. but it seems like a much more feasible plan than betting on this with no guarantees. I like your videos and hopefully I’m not coming off the wrong way, I hope it works out just throwing out another possible option.

I’ve been in a similar situation where I had to step back from trying to turn a "passion" into a career. At the time, it was devastating, and I felt like a failure. But looking back, it opened doors I never expected. I ended up in Optical Instrument sales, which I initially thought sounded boring and corporate. To my surprise, it’s been incredibly fulfilling. It’s given me the chance to travel the world, everywhere from Japan to Australia - meet amazing people, and achieve financial stability in my 30s. What I once thought would be a boring, dead-end job has turned into a career that allows me to use my strengths in ways I never imagined. Sometimes, the best choice is to find a profession that offers stability and still allows you to enjoy your passion on the side. In today’s world, many people are fascinated by the idea of becoming a RUclipsr or content creator. The allure is understandable, but it’s NOT the only path to fulfillment. You’re RIGHT to consider other career options, especially at 28 going on 29. This is a great time in your life to make decisions that set you up for long-term success. Embracing the idea that your passion can remain a hobby while you pursue a career that offers both stability and growth is incredibly mature.

Let’s be clear, this is entirely achievable as Rarran, the current biggest hearthstone creator, had given himself a similar ultimatum a few years back and he succeeded. I still remember that video. I wish you all the best wishes and hope you will succeed!
Hearthstone is not a great tool for popular content creation. Rarran is an exception. You don't watch Rarran for his gameplay, you watch him for creative shows/challenges or/and the funny moments with other youtubers.

My advice for you is to reduce the time you explain the decks and just have fun. Rarran, disguised toast regiskillbin all started becoming viral when they had fun and let loose. Have a period trying the most funny decks and see the most fun you can have even if you lose 10 or 20 times. I wish you the best of luck
I understand you and really appreciate your transparency on this somewhat private issue. The dynamic has been bizarre since the internet became a thing. Some content creators make dumb stuff, only intending to grab attention, and can make a lot of money. While those like you with dignity, creating content with quality, usually don't have a large viewerbase/community and can't take enough advantage of the internet as a platform.
I really hope this works out for you Clark. Crazy when you put into perspective how much youre making off of Twitch plus RUclips combined. $44 a day just isnt livable. I feel like im in a kind of similar boat in life. About to turn 30 in October, and im just tired of having to rely on others for help consistently. Yeah, its important to have safety nets and a supportive environment like that, but it feels shitty to have to constantly feel like a burden. Exactly why i just started back to school.

Now for your growth as a content creator, you have the energy, the attitude and good ideas, but being honest Hearthstone is niche as a card game and you will never reach the goals you are setting if you don't open up to new things or change the formula, yes HS can be fun and have people watching you for that but never at the heights of MTG or YuGiOh! and even those card games are not that big spaces for YT or Twitch. Maybe I'm wrong and keeping these pace will give you the boost you need to make it through and I hope so, but you need to search for a different angle. Clark, what you've build has been build uphill, HS is a dying market, and as businessman I'd say a market can make or break you, despite competence, i'm sure if you had exerteted the same amount of energy in a different market, you would reach your goals, certainly you would. I know life is not that simple, some things fall in your lap and you can't let them go. I hope you can make it with HS and I respect the fact that you're giving 110% before your next adventure! After they started sharing revenue with music from shorts etc, income from youtube has dropped by exactly half and it never went back up. You have to look for sponsors to make an income on youtube now.

I enjoy your niche of 'casual competitive' decks. Fun but still strong. Powerful but not boilerplate aggro. I've seen a few other HS channels stagnate around 20k subs too. There's only so many HS viewers on youtube. Do you have a discord? You could push that or mention it more often if you have one. For me, I don't engage with twitch much. So if you started multiplatform streaming again I would definitely watch lives. Just some thoughts! Go fling those pens my man

Hi, Clark. I see lots of affirmation and fluff in these replies, but not much actionable feedback. As a long time fan of yours, I will share some constructive criticism, particularly on the Twitch streams, that may help in turning things around. From my perspectives, the fire in your eyes went out after that 1-2 punch of the subathon and standard rotation this year. The peak popularity of your stream, as I saw it, was when you were rocking top 5 legend for a sustained period of time with Nature Shaman. You mastered a deck, played it at a high level, explained your plays to the audience, and generally had a great attitude. You also changed up music on the stream and played softer genres with more mainstream appeal, including video game music. The stream in general felt exciting and accessible. After rotation, you struggled to find your footing competitively and declared you were giving it up to play "fun" decks. Then came the Reno Warrior meta, and every time I tuned into stream it was a lot of complaining about Reno, what a bad design it is, how much of an idiot people must be to play these decks, etc. It was alienating. The strictly heavy metal playlist was back as well, which as a casual viewer who keeps you on a second monitor I did not find pleasant for long periods of time. A dark cloud emerged over the stream. This frustration and lack of direction seemed to result in less streaming as well, and on this video, the numbers confirm it. Twitch streamers often struggle to find their footing when they don't commit to a regular, reliable schedule, and sometimes you may need to meet the audience where they are. I think a lot of streamers prefer to do it in the morning or afternoon because it's more convenient and frees them up for nighttime activities - but most of your audience is working or going to school during those hours, and as an entertainer, you should consider being available to them when they are most looking for entertainment. You may not agree with this feedback, and that's fine, but I offer it in good faith as someone who would like to become a regular viewer of your stream and channel again. In its current state, your stream does not offer me anything over other streamers to keep me coming back the way it did 6-12 months ago.
We can take inspiration from that Reddit thread with worse possible deck and make it even worse, especially if wild is allowed (after a certain point, the creator asked for no more literally unplayable cards, cause that was what it was coming down to) and force Clark to play it the entire stream, as it will be literally impossible to win with it.

I have been playing HS for several years now and to be fair I am finding the game is getting a little stale - It seems to be the same old decks have been staying at Tier 1 for months on end - I do hope things improve over the year and you are still about

After they started sharing revenue with music from shorts etc, income from youtube has dropped by exactly half and it never went back up. You have to look for sponsors to make an income on youtube now.
Not a fan of hearthstone(because I know if I start playing it I'll get addicted to it and waste so much money on it) but I want to see you succeed my friend, I'll be sure to help out in whatever ways I can.

I know its not entirely under your control, but I really feel like a content creator of your caliber just has some kind of discoverability issue that a few big collaborations could help with a lot. Like, if you could swing something fun with Day9 or what have you, just a few of those I feel would push majorly toward the 100k mark.

Sad to see you will be quitting if you don't make your goal... I think everyone is just having a hard time right now because even my mom and I are struggling and there are both of us paying bills. I enjoy your niche of 'casual competitive' decks. Fun but still strong. Powerful but not boilerplate aggro. I've seen a few other HS channels stagnate around 20k subs too. There's only so many HS viewers on youtube. Do you have a discord? You could push that or mention it more often if you have one. For me, I don't engage with twitch much. So if you started multiplatform streaming again I would definitely watch lives. Just some thoughts! Go fling those pens my man

Hi, Clark. I see lots of affirmation and fluff in these replies, but not much actionable feedback. As a long time fan of yours, I will share some constructive criticism, particularly on the Twitch streams, that may help in turning things around.
From my perspectives, the fire in your eyes went out after that 1-2 punch of the subathon and standard rotation this year. The peak popularity of your stream, as I saw it, was when you were rocking top 5 legend for a sustained period of time with Nature Shaman. You mastered a deck, played it at a high level, explained your plays to the audience, and generally had a great attitude. You also changed up music on the stream and played softer genres with more mainstream appeal, including video game music. The stream in general felt exciting and accessible.
After rotation, you struggled to find your footing competitively and declared you were giving it up to play "fun" decks. Then came the Reno Warrior meta, and every time I tuned into stream it was a lot of complaining about Reno, what a bad design it is, how much of an idiot people must be to play these decks, etc. It was alienating. The strictly heavy metal playlist was back as well, which as a casual viewer who keeps you on a second monitor I did not find pleasant for long periods of time. A dark cloud emerged over the stream.
This frustration and lack of direction seemed to result in less streaming as well, and on this video, the numbers confirm it. Twitch streamers often struggle to find their footing when they don't commit to a regular, reliable schedule, and sometimes you may need to meet the audience where they are. I think a lot of streamers prefer to do it in the morning or afternoon because it's more convenient and frees them up for nighttime activities - but most of your audience is working or going to school during those hours, and as an entertainer, you should consider being available to them when they are most looking for entertainment.
You may not agree with this feedback, and that's fine, but I offer it in good faith as someone who would like to become a regular viewer of your stream and channel again. In its current state, your stream does not offer me anything over other streamers to keep me coming back the way it did 6-12 months ago.

We can take inspiration from that Reddit thread with worse possible deck and make it even worse, especially if wild is allowed (after a certain point, the creator asked for no more literally unplayable cards, cause that was what it was coming down to) and force Clark to play it the entire stream, as it will be literally impossible to win with it.

I have been playing HS for several years now and to be fair I am finding the game is getting a little stale - It seems to be the same old decks have been staying at Tier 1 for months on end - I do hope things improve over the year and you are still about
The issue is the game maybe you should branch to other card games because I don't think hearhstone or the format brings that many new people into the game and pretty much all of the people that could sub or watch is already doing it

Nah, usually if somebody switch from hs to other game, just lose viewers. Many game just unwatchable: tarkov, balatro, any type of slots etc.
