Glass bowl is also a lot heavier. I typically only used glass bowl for things that are scooped out like cookies. Usually the worst thing that ever happens to those lovers is that the plastic just weakens and breaks off. When it does happen the parts are easy enough to replace what do I have seen some people just using them without replacing the knob because enough of the metal still sticks out. Dials have been known to brake also. KitchenAid did at one time have a model with a dial on the top what time is mostly done because different body and was assembled a bit differently but it's been discontinued since the 1970s and there was a much lighter Duty machine. On North American Tiltedhead KitchenAids the lock lever is not self-locking may have to remember to do it ourselves.
