I'm so happy to see how well this works. Expansion chamber makes more of a difference than a lot of people realize, so kudos to you for having that included. Also, I hadn't thought of freezing water bottles...so obvious!

I'm doing a stirring with this year, and the reusable water bottles are an excellent idea! (I was concerned about all the water run off from the many bags of Ice i'd need!)
    Thanks!

You can use a plastic hose to connect to the fog machine and the cauldron connection for a better seal. Oh and LED lights connected to batteries are safer. Love the water bottle ice idea way cheaper than dry ice!

The light fixtures are attached to the top of a piece of wood about an inch high so its off the bottom. The tupperware is a bowl of sufficient width and height to clear the assembly with the bulbs screwed in. It is turned upside down over the bulbs, the bottom stays open and I did not use the lid. I made sure to attach the ground wire to the light fixture and the power is plugged into a grounded receptacle. I do have several 1/2 inch holes drilled into the bottom of the cauldron for drainage.

Waterproof pond lights are cheap and a whole lot safer than the lights shown. Make sure they are LEDs as they will stay much cooler and won't melt the cauldron. They also come in many colors.

this is great.... if you could explain a bit more on how you set up the tupperware with the lights so that you dont get the lights wet & the drainage as well... did you put drainage holes in the calderon as well or just the tupperware.... this is the only part that concerns me... any info would be greatly appreciated thanks

I believe he is just using the Tupperware to cover and shield the lights. Then I would assume you have drilled drain holes around the outside of the Tupperware, so the water will drain out of those instead of staying in the cauldron.

@MinnieMitch18 Its a timer that came with the fog machine I bought. You can buy one that works with your model fog machine.

Well better late than never on my responce...lol sorry.
The effect lasts as long as there is ice and you pump in fog. If you mean how long will it bubble like that after you turn off the fog then it lasts several minutes as the fog under the ice is in an expansion chamber and still has some pressure and when its cooled on top it just sits there since it doesnt rise up and float away. I put it on a timer to give short bursts every few minutes.

@HauntedNeurons Thanks! Where'd you get a timer to do that with?

How long did the effect last?

With the fog machine, did you use regular fog juice or 'low lying fog juice' meant for fog chillers?

    • @HauntedNeurons

Its just regular fog juice. The ice bottles will chill the fog to make it low lying. You don't need to buy special low lying fog juice.

OK I am using an 18 inch cooking grate - something intended to be used with an average charcoal grill. Will play around with it a bit, might add some wire mesh (think screen door) to it.
