I think the good guys will win at winterfell but I'm Pretty sure the night king is gonna turn everyone in kings landing during the fight and come up to winterfell from the south. This makes sense as to the vision Danny had at the iron thrown. ( holes in the roof but snow everwhere) I think the fight will start at winterfell and end there but will be 2 different fights. I think the mountain is gonna be turned and that's the fight between the brothers. The hound is gonna set him on fire to kill him. If the night king brings the army from the south it will be too massive to lose so this is where the dead in the crypt will help. My theory

      @krcjayhawks 5 лет назад +5

I kind of considered something like that, but I think this will be more of a straight up massacre at Winterfell. A lot of lovers were split up like Missandei/Greyworm or put in a place where one will have to die for the other Jamie/Brianne. I think we're going to see a lot of death and broken hearts.
I think it more likely that we see action at King's Landing after Winterfell. Sets Cersei up to think her plan is unfolding well. I can't figure out how this will happen, but we need to get Bran to Kings Landing. Maybe that's why Jon mentioned keeping the Dragons hidden but close to Bran. They will fail at Winterfell, and then need to get the army of the dead inside the walls of King's Landing. Burn them all will take on a whole new meaning - the wildfire caches and walls of King's Landing could be used to trap and destroy the bulk of the dead.
At that point, it'll come down to diplomacy. Things will come full circle when another pact is sealed, like after the 13th Lord Commander took his corpse bride and sacrifices were made thousands of years prior.
Lastly, I do think that a sword will be piercing either Dany or Melisandre's firey heart, and a shard of dragonglass will be shoved into the chest of a major character.
I definitely like the strategy of your theory, and it could still work if the now larger army of the dead is lured back to King's Landing. One way or another, "burn them all" and the wildfire caches are still going to play a role in this.

I guess the crypt makes sense. In the very first episode when King Robert goes there to pay his respects to Lyanna, he comments about how she should be buried outside, under the open sky. Ned states that she belongs in the crypt, with her family. What if the sanctity of the crypt has been hinted at since episode 1? The Starks are buried there so that they are safe from the Night King in death.

In the first book of A Song of Ice and Fire, Jon kept having a recurring nightmare about the crypts.
"Last night he had dreamed the Winterfell dream again. He was wandering the empty castle, searching for his father, descending into the crypts. Only this time the dream had gone further than before. In the dark he'd heard the scrape of stone on stone. When he turned he saw that the vaults were opening, one after the other. As the dead kings came stumbling from their cold black graves, Jon had woken in pitch-dark, his heart hammering. Even when Ghost leapt up on the bed to nuzzle at his face, he could not shake his deep sense of terror."
If this was meant to be a prophetic dream, we have even more reasons to worry about those crypts. Let's just hope the kings will side with Jon, not the Night King.

If you look back in season 6 episode 6 right after the “Hold the Door” incident bran has a vision. In that vision we see a clip of one of Daenerys dragons as a baby, clips of the night king turning one of Crasters babies, clips of a full grown dragon, clips of a shadow of a dragon over King’s landing, lots of clips of the Mad King yelling “BURN THEM ALL!” and the whole vision ends with the night king raising the dead of hearthome. During the coming battle Bran is conveniently next to a wirewood tree, and the Night king hasn’t shown up yet, and chances are that you are right he is heading towards King’s landing. I feel like in the next episode Bran trying to save what’s about to happen from happening might be what drove the mad king mad.
Who knows it’s possible that the Mad King yelling burn them all could have actually been Bran.

Chris Dowd I’ve been thinking the same as you, friend. The NK doesn’t even need to enter Winterfell for Bran to die; he can just allow his forces to overwhelm the castle and kill everyone, Bran included whilst he carries on South to destroy Kings Landing. Of course with GoT no one ever gets it 100% but I agree with you for the most part as the visions we’ve seen through Bran are very telling. If memory serves correct; when we see the dragons shadow flying over KL, it doesn’t seem to be wintery, but when Dany visits the throne room it is snowing? So either the NK forces Winter down upon KL from dragonback, leading to the wintery throne room or that’s simply a memory from Aegons conquest. I guess we’ll find out soon enough. I wish you good fortune in the wars to come 😁

I don't know guys, the main appeal that I had with ASoIaF was the fact that there wasn't that much magic in the world. Dragons, frost zombies and shadow fiends from Melissandre were the most supernatural/magical things in the story. Bringing now ghosts or spirits from the crypts to save the day makes the story becoming more of a generic fantasy story instead of what made ASoIaF/GoT great: the human part of the whole history, the plots, the betrayals, the friendships, the wars, not zombies and spirts :(

I know this is absolutely far fetched, but the song that Podrick sung in episode 2 could be forshadowing the death of Arya in the crypts where the night king resurects the dead Starks.
And yes, I know the song is about Jenny of Oldstones, but It's still fun to theorize.
    L Y R I C S:
High in the halls of the kings who are gone (The crypt where old Stark kings lie)
Jenny would dance with her ghosts
    (Jenny refering to Arya)
The ones she had lost and the ones she had found
(The ones she had lost refering to Ned and the ones she had found to I have no idea)
And the ones who had loved her the most
    (Perhaps refering to Catelyn)
The ones who'd been gone for so very long
(Could be any of the dead Starks)
    She couldn't remember their names
They spun her around on the damp old stones (Pushed her around tearing her apart)
Spun away all her sorrow and pain
(Relieving her of everything by killing her)
And she never wanted to leave (Never wanted to die)
    Never wanted to leave 5x

This why Bran will pass something special to Theon in the Godswood next episode "Everything you did brought you to where you are now. Where you belong. Home." Kind of like The Oracle passing a message to Neo before agent smith taking over her body. Very cryptic message.

I agree. It would make an awesome ending! Just imagine it, the person who is the key character of all the events in Got is Rhaegar who dies before the series and we see only a couple of scenes with him! That would be so unexpected for most of the people. He had visions of the future (as Targeryens do) and he knew what he has to do in order to protect the seven kingdoms and the realm of men. He alignes almost perfectly with the prophecy of Melissandre, he was born amidst smoke and salt (when he was born, Summerhall burned to the ground, so there was smoke and people were crying, so there is smoke and salt), he combined ice and fire (Rhaegar dragon prince is fire and Lyanna from the North is ice), he tried to create the "sword" (weapon to destroy darkness) three times. First he thought he is the weapon and he died in the river Trident (which is water, as Azor Ahai first tried to temper the sword with water), second he thought that his son Aegon with Elia was the weapon (Aegon was killed by the Mountain who represents house Lannister (lions), as Azor Ahai tried to temper the sword for the second time with lions heart), and the third time he succeeds by sacrificing his beloved wife as Azor Ahai did. Result is Jon or Aegon Targeryen, his third child. Also, Rhaegar is the direct descendant (son) of the Aerys and Rhaella Targeryen, and in the prophecy it is said that from their lineage will come the Prince who is Promised. Also, let's remember Jon's words from when he joins the Night's Watch: I am the sword in the darkness, I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn...
Anyways, I really hope that in the end it works out like this. How awesome would be that Rhaegar knew everything that is going to happen and he ensured that he plays his part to protect the seven kingdoms.

@@neverplayadcarry5154 another theory i have is what id Bran is setting himseld up to die and make Tyrion the next 3 eyed Raven. I mean its a long shot, but just something to think about. Because Tyrion needs to redeem himself and him and Bran had that long ass talk that none of us got to hear. That would be wild!!!

That's true, and I was thinking that the show runners are tied to what they have showed in the tv series, they need to play only with what the audience has seen during these years, they cannot use book material that hasn't been showed in the series, so I thin tis could be plausible. @@ThompterSHunson

Dead Starks helping to fight for the living assumes that they are strong enough to get out of their tombs which have lids made of stone. I doubt this is the case. If anything I think the NK will raise his arms like he did at hardhome and the dead wights will rise on the battlefield. Him doing this might cause the dead Starks to 'come to life' in their tombs but be unable to leave as they can't open the heavy stone lids to them. The people hiding in the crypts will likely be freaked out by the noises this causes but I can't see it going any other way than this. We saw how the wight taken to kings landing was held in a wooden box without breaking out until the hound let it out.

In the very first season and in dreams since, a black three eyed raven has been trying to get Bran to go down into the crypts. I've always felt there was a reason for this and it's bugged me since the beginning. He almost made it a couple of times. Once before he was injured when the crow lands on the wolf statue outside the crypts. Bran had his bow and arrow in his hand. Also, when he is dreaming and Summer wakes him up by jumping on his bed. The NK leaving his mark on Bran's arm is what allowed the NK to pass into the three eyed raven's cave and kill him. I'm guessing this is why Bran knows he can't go down into the crypts, he will put those down there at risk. Time and time again the books and the tv show kept pointing to the crypts for some reason.

  • @markmoore9237

The mark on bran isnt the reason why he got past the wall... lmao.. Stop spreading false information.. The NK Needed the dragon to break the wall and break the spells the held him north of it.. Needed powerful magic to destroy powerful magic... Touching bran had nothing to do with it..

Hmm, my theory was that the Night Kings ressuracts (or a White Walker) the dead Starks in the crypts and they slaughter everyone in the cripts and then roll up the battlefield from the back. Thats why Danny says the dead are allready here. And they mention the crypt as beeing the safest spot so often, it has to be a hint for beeing not the safest one :D
