    Although I had the opportunity I would never run such a large crane, Too slow and too few lifts, but it's great that it is possible to lift 3000 tonnes.
    Great video - thanks for that you would share it with us :-)

    The ballast of the crane consists of built-up special reinforced 40ft containers filled with locally sourced material. Up to 3.600 metric tonnes of ballast is carried by the ring.

      All heavy lift cranes take much labor too erect them. Even large mobile cranes can take almost an entire day to rig.
      many times there is more man hours in the set up and take down of a crane than there is in actual hours of work needed to be done, but there is no getting around it. These machines are too big and too heavy to trans port in even a semi complete form.

    Look at what we have to do to lift this, yet our ancient ancersters were able to do this with no crane at all. What have we forgoten since 12,000 years ago

    • @conclaveluminis

      Our ancient ancestors were not lifting 3200 metric tonne.

    • @DieterSoegemeier
      @DieterSoegemeier 4 года назад +1

      @@conclaveluminis Have you seen soem of the stones that were moved around the world 12,000+ years ago.
      There are hundreds of docos on ancient mega structures that have stone blocks that weigh even more that 3200 tons.

      @@DieterSoegemeier Where?

    • @conclaveluminis
      @conclaveluminis 4 года назад +1

      @@DieterSoegemeier I respectfully disagree. The largest monolith moved by man was the "Thunder stone" of Saint Petersburg. The estimated mass of the thunderstone (calculated by volume) is 1,250 metric tonne. There is a 1,500 metric tonne (cut stone) at Baalbek, Lebanon however, the stone was not moved and remains in location at the quarry.

    • @DieterSoegemeier
      @DieterSoegemeier 4 года назад

      @@conclaveluminis Yes but they would not have cut ut if they could not move it.
      Have a look at rhe ones holding up the temple mount in Israel and the ones they have now found in Russia that are many times as big as the one in Baalbek.
      The point is that we are not as advanced as we like to think, because the ancients moved them without a crane.

      For the love of Pete, can you man up? There are some jobs that are inherently dangerous, and no amount of whining and crying will change them. Watch a video of the Hoover Dam being built, or the Golden Gate bridge. If it were up to skirt wearing men like you those projects would have never taken place. But they would be nice and comfy and safe. Just hungry and unemployed.

      @pauldocherty8906 9 лет назад

      6overzilla Where does the ignorance come into it ? Can you spot four instances in the first two minutes of the video where there are the likely possibility of injury ? No one is perfect but with a little effort we can cut the injury rate in the crane industry.
