Mark didn’t call out John, he called out the act. John was wrong.
Well, he should have called out Lindell. The same way Moses called out Aaron in Ex 32. Lindell should lead them towards God, not to sin nor to to himself. God punishes sinners, not the sin.
John needed to be called out
Exactly
Exactly, its was important to rebuke the spirit of sin, which he labelled correctly as spirit of Jezebel.
Agreed!! He was telling the flock what was before them-the spirit of Jezebel.
Pastors are to protect the flock!! That’s what Pastor Mark was doing protecting them. Also, he’s been doing a teaching about the prophet Elijah.
Lindell was in the wrong for sure. Pastor Driscoll was right to condemn the stripper at a Christian Conference.
i dont see anything wrong with the entertainment... a little odd for a mens conference but it wasnt homoerotic like that guy was making it out to be
Pinky: You are RIGHT....strippers do not belong in church. Cannot see JESUS scheduling one for sure.
People who use scripture to justify their own agenda and defend themselves rather than the Word, are the epitome of the snake in the garden, and of the Pharisees Jesus spoke out against (publicly and not in private). Mark only used the Word to address something he and others saw as unaligned. God's favor will be on Mark in this.
Has anyone actual presented evidence that this was a stripper, not a circus performer?
@@user-xj5xp6qz5git's definitely not appropriate entertainment
Mark Driscoll should NOT "receive" a rebuke from this satanic pastor.
Facts 💯
He wasn't receiving a rebuke. He was basically saying he'll go ahead and leave the conference.
This was NOT a Matthew 18 example.
This was a PUBLIC display of an ungodly performance; NOT a private offense between the two pastors and Mark called it out, as he SHOULD have.
Absolutely. And if he would privately mentioned something to Lindell he probably wouldn’t have had to platform to say anything publicly anymore and Mark wouldn’t have had the opportunity to address the entire crowd. Lindell did the same thing that the religious leaders did to Jesus and the prophets.
It was definitely more of a Galatians 2 Peter confrontation type scenario.
Go privately to others for their private sins. But it was Lindell that made this act public before his audience in the first place, so Driscoll addressing it publicly is appropriate.
🎯 public sin calls for addressing it publicly. Not once did Mark reference John. He didn't say John had the spirit of Jezebel. He didn't even call him out for having the stripper there. He called out the stripper. John took it personally because he had arranged it. It was his idea that was getting attacked and so he threw a little fit.
Exactly!!
Ahhh good point!
I Tim. 5:20 says Elders who sin should be called out and rebuked in public … John’s quoting a verse about “in private” is about regular believers - 1 Tim 5 is talking about “Elders” / pastors - so it is more relevant here in this situation than Matt 18 !
Mathew 18 is talking about offense, this is a completely different scenario, as a role of a pastor it is his duty to protect the body of Christ from false doctrine and teaching, even if that means bringing correction
Having a stripper was out of line. The men should’ve walked out of the conference.
Was he in stripper mode or sword swallowing mode? It was weird yes. Probably could have passed on this one. But I’ve seen a hand full of sword swallowers and a good many of them take their shirts off for more of an effect while it’s going down.
if my husband went to this and didn't walk out immediately, I would be wondering about him. 🤔🧐 Fruity fruity
@@cicicorleo 😂 my wife basically said the same thing
This is a gayism promotion.
i dont see anything wrong with the entertainment... a little odd for a mens conference but it wasnt homoerotic like that guy was making it out to be
The people who organized this conference should really be ashamed!
Not only that but fired and shunned.
Demons haven't shame
It does make you wonder, if Mark Driscoll had mentioned this to John Lindell privately, would John have allowed Mark up on stage at all?
Probably not
Exactly what I was thinking! Probably not at all.
Exactly! The issue would have never been publicly addressed as it was and as it should have been.
🎯🎯🎯🎯
I’m pretty sure he would not have been on stage.
What a terrible shame that our churches have become freak shows instead of salvation stations.
There is a church on every block not doing this... but in major cities you can usually find a couple doing stuff like this.
These aren’t christians.
This isn't a church. JRC is just a smaller version of Joel Olsteens congregation and John lindell is just a smaller Joel Olsteen.
You will know them by their fruits. What part of having this at a Christian men’s conference glorifies God or brings these men closer to God?
😮there is a church on every block"..
NOT.. bringing 1st Corinthians 15v1.4!
Paul's GOSPEL. @jeffreyjones3616
There is no reason for a strip show in the church
Where was the strip show? All I saw was a guy ripping off a shirt.
@@stephenshelton4267 that guy was a stripper, and behaved like a stripper, whole also performing a "dare devil" act.
It was a display of performance and human strength and skill. I don't see a problem and I don't think God would have seen a problem either.
That being said. I am not religious at all.
@@justins3810 this kind of.act did not belong in a church
@@danwolf6076Probably not. It wasn't really a church though was it? Definitely a very weird thing to do for Christian people for sure.
So he can call out pastors for being “out of line” while not accepting when other men of God call him out of line? That’s all you need to know.
Dude is a money hungry narcissist
Um…. Using Johns own logic, he should have sat down with Mark in private instead of calling him out publicly. Total hypocrisy.
The crowd should have had that reaction during the strippers performance.
People are so used to being forced into silence these days over these matters, it's been normalized pretty much 😔 but yes they should have especially where they were
Amen! I would have got up and left. I bet these poor backwards Christians paid to be there too. 25% of all pastors, preachers etc are reprobate. Don’t trust any of them.
Herd animals will cheer for whatever is in front of them.
Boy Howdy Sheeple Don’t Do That AnyMore !!! They Fear Approval or getting canceled More Than They Fear God!!!!! 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
What stripper...next you will be wanting men to wear shirts when they swim.
I have experienced a controlling Pastor use Matthew 18 incorrectly. In Revelation 2:20, Jesus rebukes the church that tolerates Jezebel. Pastor Mark was right here.
That verse ends the question on that. It is very pointed and clear. Good call on that.
Lindell is a wolf in sheep's clothing to allow that satanic ritual happen 💔
I went to Washington DC for a promise keepers rally. We praised Christ. No pole dancer was called to the platform....
It was done publicly... therefore it was handled publicly. That never should have been done. Period.
Publicly rebuked Ed yes and repentance from Lindell who is not a pastor
1 Tim 5:20 says to to rebuke Elders who are sinning in Public - Mark was not wrong here.
I agree 100%
The Matthew verse does NOT apply because Mark was addressing a PUBLIC display that involved that ENTIRE audience.
I agree with this
I for one am appalled. Sadly driscol apologised and was dressed down in front of everyone later. The audience should of got up and walked out. Demanded their money back and go elsewhere. I will not be watching or listening to either. Weak pastors are not acceptable.
@marcywolters6402 Then Pastor Lindell spent his Entire Wednesday night midweek service at his church to Publicly Slander Mark Driscoll!!! (Also: Mark Never apologized for What he said! He apologized for "not coming to John Lindell first with it". That's it. He never took back one word of his rightful assessment of that ungodly "performance".)
Exactly. Just like in Galatians 2 when the Apostle Paul *publicly confronted Peter because of Peter's *public hypocrisy. Peter would stop associating/eating with the Gentiles when the Judaizers were around, but had no problem socializing with Gentiles if the Judaizers were not there. Paul opposed Peter to his face in front of Everyone over this behavior because it had harmed the community and led many astray.
What I want to know is, how many "men" stood up and left the conference when this obvious display of homosexuality occurred?
Exactly.
Lindell did the exact same thing by rebuking Driscoll publicly! Sounds like hypocrisy to me!!
Lindell has no business being a Pastor WHATSOEVER!!!!!
He’d probably make a great businessman.
Rubbish
Nor does Driscoll …
I’ve been going to his church for years and he’s has been great. Unfortunately this situation has definitely tainted what I know.
@@user-oj8ss4zq3x
Thankfully, the story is not ended yet and we’re all still growing and learning.
I think Mark was in the right, he didn't call anyone out he was just voicing his concern over something that shouldn't have been there.
I bet Mark knew if he said something off stage he wouldn't get a chance to say it on stage. He hedged his bets, and it was wise.
Evidently the only real man in the crowd got kicked out. Go figure..
Yes.
And Jesus said they will persecute you because they hated me first.
Everyone wants to shoot the messenger.
Didn't he just do the same thing calling the pastor out publicly for calling the pastor out publicly???
Yes! It’s hypocrisy!
Hahahaha! Good point!
That hecking part.
Yes!!
Exactly. If he believed that then he should have walked up on stage and talked to mark off mic for a minute.
Lindell was full of pride. he pulled the scripture out of context. The offense was public the apology should have been public. He then dopes exactly what he accused Driscoll of doing.
Lindell's PRIDE was showing on full display.
This is so sad. The Church is under attack from within. The only way a stripper should have been at a Church conference would be to tell how they had found Christ, asked for his forgiveness and were moving on in their new life.
"If your brother offends you address him in private" the entire audience was offended by that show, so addressing the audience as a whole was about as private as it gets 🤷♂️
But they didn’t get up and leave?
Who would have this kind of display at any Christian event? What was the goal here?
Exactly
That is not only the question, but is what mark was addressing
At the end of the day.. Money, satan..
@@user-tt6rx1cy4f the LOVE of money is the root of all evil, as proven at this event
The real question is why are men wasting their money on this garbage when all they have to do is read the Bible. The Bible discusses how men are supposed to be. No conferences needed
This is yet another example of how turned off I am to modern evangelicalism. I am done with these entertainment-driven churches. DONE.
Definitely
This is basically the same reason I few years ago left the institutional church -- I didn't want to be institutionalized. Now my wife and I have informal but serious home worship and in depth Bible studies. No time restrictions, small groups and we generally share a meal together. I find more and more believers taking this path to the Lord and finding themselves living closer to God every day. Now @raymondlussier3920 let's be real men of God and go be a blessing.
Agree 100%
Good, church isn't there for our entertainment but to be edified through fellowship with other Christians.
Yes, 6 Flags Over Jesus. 😢
Men PAID to hear him speak. They should hear him SPEAK.
How did people just sit there while the stripper was stripping? The fact that whole auditorium didn’t get up and leave speaks loudly about the congregation there. I would have left as soon as the dude started stripping
Right?
Abd I would have demanded a refund
No doubt, Lindell was in the wrong.
Lindell was absolutely wrong.
and on an unfortunate power trip
All the men there are subjected to corrections and some rebuke. All received warnings and
“wake up calls”. We’re all on the same level in that regard. Mark’s remarks were not directed towards anyone particularly, as he said. It was an open expression of concern that burdened his heart for all there.
And a hypocrite. He did exactly to him what he was accusing him of doing about the dancer.
Oh please. Man just wanted money and didn't want to spoil his marketed event. Tickets are probably $200 each 😂😂😂😂 what a joke
💯 agree
That stripper was appalling! The Bible does say to first go to them privately, but did the Lord Jesus go to the scribes and Pharisees privately! NO He didn’t! The damage was done when the people had to sit and watch this, so Mark Driscoll spoke immediately. I’ve read my Bible. I’ve been a Christian a long time. He was right. The Bible says if we don’t tell others of their sins their blood will be on us. The place of The Almighty God should not be defiled!
You shall know them by their fruits.
Beware: satan masquerades as an angel of light
That is because he once was an angel of the light...
Yes thanks for clarifying. I knew “angel in disguise” didn’t sound right…
Apparently satan rips his costume off
And sometimes a male sword swallowing stripper.
I am greatly disappointed the act was not stopped by anyone as it happened!
I'm pretty sure no Christian wanted to touch the stripper.
Your a joke
Might be that about 90+% of the men were weak-willed attending this event.
There was a dress rehearsal, and John's younger son viewed the performance. Mark raised that issue with John privately in a text.
@@pureprairieWhere did you read or hear about that?
Think about it. Pastor Driscoll could have discussed it privately and nothing would change. He opened with talking about Elisha and the courage we need to have to stand up against evil. He inspired many, and if he was obeying the Holy Spirit, I’m all for it.
Lindell didn't use his definition of Matthew 18 to speak with Driscoll privately. Double Standard.
Mark Driscoll got kicked out of a Strong Men's Conference for coming on Too Strong. ?
Ridiculous conference, ridiculous spectacles, false teachers bickering with each other, pathetic.
@@f308gtb1977 Well Driscoll jumped off the False teaching wagon on to the straight and narrow on this one. Who brings a Male stripper to a Christian Conference? So I'll lump your lack of convictions in with them then as well.
@@f308gtb1977 You know what's up
He’s taking Matthew 18 out of context, which is about private matters. The pastor didn’t offend Mark. The stripper offended Christ and His church. It was a public display that deserved a public response. Perhaps Mark could have mentioned it to the pastor, but it’s also likely he may have decided in the moment to bring it up. That pastor is notorious for lacking discernment. He failed the men of the conference by not calling out the stripper in the moment calling him out of line, but was totally fine, in his offense, to call Mark out of line for speaking truth.
Well said!
I'm gonna burst your bubble, The messiah would not claim an association with an assembly that is lawless.
If Mark had spoken about it privately, he wouldn't have been allowed on the stage at all.
Pastor Driscoll is a man of God- and I know nothing about him. His word was God-breathed and he gracefully left when asked, kicking the dust off his sandals and moving on to willing hearts and ears.
I live in Springfield, this man has a long pattern of this garbage. This city is ashamed of him
I saw that! The Jezebel spirit is right 🤢 That guy on the pole was so uncalled for, I'm glad he called it out. Lindell was in the wrong!
JEZEBEL HAS BEEN DEAD FOR 2500 YEARS, HER SPIRIT WAITS JUDGEMENT LIKE ALL OTHERS SHE WAS A PERSON, NOT A SPIRIT DORKO
It means in the spirit of her, like her. It's not an uncommon saying 😂
What a load of absolute RUBBISH
Common sense
It’s hypocrisy. He said he should have gone privately to someone about his issues. All while calling him out publicly for his.
Bingo
Yea I was thinking the same
Totally agree. He's literally condemning another pastor while doing the same thing
Paul told us, a public offense demands a public rebuke.
This audience should have simply kissed their money goodbye and walked out of the event. That would have sent a stronger message than simply booing and arguing with a bad pastor with no intention of repenting. 😊😊😊
The true church of Christ doesn't need circus shows, nor posing speakers...only the Spirit and the Word.
All were in the wrong here.
Having a strip show at a church function is wrong, period
The true church has Carpenters, Circus Performers, and Musicians fact, all of society.
I agree. As a Christian I would never listen to any of these guys. Another example of clowns entertaining the goats
Amen brother. These so called Christian’s make a mockery of Christ, all show and ego.
@brianjohnhendry4062 That "performance" was not about the different skills within the body of Christ - *That* "performer" was brought in for the precise purpose of sensational entertainment - period
I think having a Vegas stripper do a performance at the beginning of a Christian anything is absolutely ridiculous. 100% WRONG. If Mark had brought it up to Lindell privately, he wouldn't have had the chance to speak for the audience so I believe Mark was right all the wayyyyy
These men who did not walk out of that conference are just as guilty as Lindell
You got that right 😢
I'm honestly surprised the conference attendees didn't all leave after the stripper.
Soon the sheep and goats will be separated.
Yes, we best work out our own salvation, recognizing God is dealing with us individually, most importantly.
Sure will
Amen! And all this heresy will be exposed and punished!
DISGUSTING
I can't even believe they did this this is ridiculous it deserves to be called out publicly like he did. As a Christian he did the right thing
We need more pastors like Mark Driscoll! I think we are witnessing the falling away. People seem to have their hearts and minds hardened to the truth.
These pastors are getting exposed for their lack of doctrine and love for money
EGO. If he repented and told the truth and apologized to Mark and the crowd, He would saved face,
Those men should have walked out immediately!!!!
Right? So strange they didn’t…
Men’s group for real? A performance like that? How sick is that. Another reason I find it so hard to join a church. I’m good studying the Bible and God’s word right at home. Sick sick people. Seems pretty homosexual to me . This isn’t a Christian men’s group of straight men it would seem. More like a homosexual meeting. And I’m sure most of the crowd didn’t want that.
I did not hear one time attack the other pastor. He was criticizing the performance.
He was criticizing ALL who stood by without stopping the performance.
@@Cojo910 Still Matt 18 does not apply.
Lindell literally did what he was citing 😄 🤣 Driscoll didn't even. Lindell is FINISHED.
John was really putting Mark down over and over . Mark was submissive and did not criticise John.
No real Pastor or man of God would be at that event or speak at that event....not real Christians.
Public sin, Public rebuke
"As a pastor and a man of God, i'll call another man of God out"
But you shut him up for doing the same....
Anyone who attended this clown show was in the wrong.
So using Johns's convenient logic, he should have approached his pastoral staff privately about the plan for having a strip show at a men's conference. Maybe that would have been a good time for somebody on staff to protest a display of filth in a church. Interesting that John also chose to admonish Mark publicly. So which is it John? Apparently by the end result, John's ego is unchecked as he should well know what trails behind the spirit of pride. The wolves in sheep's clothing are exposing their fangs all by themselves these days and are blind to the flocks discernment.
That performer was Totally inappropriate doing that there!
doing what exactly
They hired him.
Matthew 18 applies in person to person situations. This act was a sin against God n God's word. No need to go person to person first. What an abomination
I live in the area. This is not the church's first, "shenanigans." They claimed a few months back to have regrown the toes of an amputee. It made for great memes. I cant understand people that go to these mega churches
Something about a wolf in sheep's clothing.
In Galatians 2: 11-21 it gives an example of Paul calling out Peter in a very public way because of some hypocrisy that was confusing those in the church. Driscoll was absolutely right to call it out the way he did.
Kicking Mark off stage mean't he couldn't counter the Matthew 18 quote with the Matthew 21 verse where Jesus cleanses the Temple. "It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves."
This!
I saw one man accept rebuke while the other appeared to defend himself.
Yes. And it really shows who's on Team Jesus. #MarkDriscoll is a hero
This is completely gross 🤢🤮 . Blasphemy won’t get you anywhere
Mark was right.
It’s insane that we can’t tell the Truth this day and age. I don’t care if people think the truth and facts are negative, keep speaking up people!
Who was responsible for hiring the stripper, and did it have to be green-lit by anyone else? Ultimately, all responsibility and repercussions should fall on that/those individual's shoulders. And there shouldn't be ANYTHING that occurs at a Christian conference that cannot be discussed publicly. Were I in Mark's shoes, I'd have left the conference when the stripper came out, and privately contacted John, demanded to know who hired/authorized the stripper, and correct them. If John was uncooperative/unrepentant, and refused to apologize to the attendees, then I would take steps to "censure" him.
Lindell is not right with God to allow that performance.
I worked at JR years ago and left due to the things that were happening behind closed doors. One small example - a family (single mom with 2 daughters) gave all of their savings after being “encouraged” to do so by the church. Shortly after, they fell on hard times and needed help. The church told them that they did not tithe enough, so they did not deserve to be helped. It was sick. It’s all about the show at JR.
What is JR?

Im not Mark's biggest fan but he was absolutely right to call it out!
If Mark had talked about it privately, he wouldn't have been allowed to talk about it publicly.
The display was public, so the rebuke needed to be public.
If we only called out sin in private then nothing could ever change. Jesus did it quite publicly his entire ministry.
Even Satan knows scripture! Best information I ever heard from my pastor!!😮
These conferences are too expensive just to listen to supposed men of God. I don't remember reading in the Bible, disciples charging to speak to anyone, anywhere.
You can’t remember reading about Disciples charging the congregation to hear preaching because it never happened! No way should there have been any cost to attend that or any other event of the Church. Lindell was just trying t9 get ricer off this conference and corrupt men in the process.
Exactly!
What a joke that conference was.
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings.
I think that the biggest red flag is John who is supposed to be the mature leader who organized this conference to build up other men’s spiritual character and their walk with Christ and he puts this performance on the docket!
Sadly, Mark later went back on stage with Lindell, and Mark apologized for what he had done. Everything is backwards..It comes across as "staged".
It didn't seem staged at all. There is supposed to be a respect for elder pastors. Though I think Mark was in the right to just call it out. Mark has a history of being called out when he's been brash. he was also kicked out of his own church that he founded years ago, so he's sensitive to being called out.
The return to the stage was “staged” to protect the conference. If they want to continue (in the future) the infighting had to stamped out.
It’s all daft …
🙏🏻🙏🏻
He shouldn’t have apologized..
He didn’t do anything wrong …
For once, I saw Mark Driscoll being very humble and calm about something.
The fact that he apologized and then bow down to the very spirits, he yells and screams against his his own. Church is very disconcerting to me as well.
Christians are supposed to stand up for their biblical principles. If he apologized, he gave in to Lindell.
That's weak of Mark.
whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. Matthew 10:14

Public sin requires public rebuke
Sounds like the Pastor wanted his own show. I would have walked out.
Oh poor baby interfered with lindells arousal!!! You can see how upset he is !!
😂😂😂😂
Lindell ego is beyond reproach.
one thing missing is the timing of that 30 minute chat they had according to Lindell.
If it was before the conference ... Did Driscoll know there was to be a stripper?
If Driscoll didn't know about the stripper until I happened, and then he had to take the stage...
Was he supposed to pretend it didn't happen and continue with his original message?
Lindell is in the wrong, along with whomever decided to book, and approved...the stripper.
The sword swallowing performance was the day before. Yes, Mark Driscoll had already seen it, and had ample opportunity to speak to John Lindell.
