For mossie bites - socks and long sleeves from dusk are a must, anti hist as you said daily, dab tea tree oil on any bites, bathe any bitten areas in water/ tea tree, burn citronella and spray deet. Pack decent foam adhesive dressings so any wounds can be kept clean/ non scratched. I lived africa 6 years and they munched on me! Loved ur vid X

I totally get what you're saying about the desert. I went to Morocco last year and spent the night in the Sahara desert. There was a full moon. It was such an incredible experience, me and my two friends kept looking at each other and being like....I can't believe this is really happening ❤
I’m exactly the same. My skin swells till it feels it’s going to burst. I’ve been told to take antihistamines for 2 weeks before you go! And whilst you go take one everyday. I feel your pain. My friend who has the same issue just went to Zanzibar and she done this and said it worked. Whilst she got a couple of bites it didn’t react ❤️💕😍

Hey lovely, start taking B1 for bites at least 2 weeks before you go on holiday and also whilst you are away, it eliminates an odour through your skin that humans can't smell but the bugs can and don't bite you, also use avon skin so soft dry oil original in the evening after shower it has a trace citronella content that they don't like. Completely know the feeling about the bites! Last time I went to Egypt I had over 100 bites just on my legs 🙈 i had to have an anti allergy injection and a course of tablet! Citrus is so good for keeping them away so lemon myrtle body scrubs and lotions 🥰

I have a really bad reaction to mosquitoes. I take antihistamine and I’ve tried everything on them, the best thing that works for me is bicarbonate of soda as a paste for 10 minutes then rinsed off and an ice pack, hope yours are getting better!

I get bitten all the time too - citronella oil is good to help ward off bites. I dab a little on like perfume - wrists, behind knees and ankles and behind the ear. Its got a strong smell which you may not like but it helps reduce the amount of bites i get!

This is me Iris. Skin so soft, anti histamine every day and take hydrocortisone cream with you. Apply that to the bites. I think there is a combo cream with hydrocortisone and antibiotic but the pharmacist would know. I think I bought that when in Greece once. Loved the Jordan vlog.

So glad your back I've missed my morning fix😁Being a Scottish red head living in Australia the mozzies love me!!! I always use Avon Skin-So-Soft Bug Guard Plus it also has an SPF of 30. It is the best one I have tried for me. To treat bites I use tea tree oil, I also take a bad reaction to mozzie bites! Can't draw she says, your camel looks great 😄Love Errol 🦉

My other daughter googled all the essential oils that repel bugs and blend them together and added to distilled water in a spray bottle. She does alot of camping and says that works.

So sorry to hear about your issue. My daughter is highly allergic to mosquito bites! She reacts the same as you. She uses a bug spray with deet and anti-itch cream on bites. Sugars in the blood make you more tasty.
Oh you poor girl. You're allergic to mosquitoes. I am too. When they bite they inject something like a blood thinner so as they suck on your blood it doesn't clot up. I have used Carona Ointment all my life. My parents answer for any injury was "wool fat and a band aid". Technically it's for animals, but don't let that stop you. It's an antiseptic, so it draws out anything foreign, infection, pus, etc. It doesn't burn, it's thick and a little goes a long way. If the jar gets a film on top just stir it up and mix that lanolin fat back in. Good luck. ❤❤ Love your videos.

i have the same problems with reaction to bites, they love me..... i do the antihistamine thing and it does help, but also use antiseptic on bites as soon as they hapen, even hand sanitiser if i dont have anything to hand, and this seems to help
also, i have traveled the world since i was a teenager, i am now 50, not traveling so much at the mo as i have a 12 year old, but i lost my husband to cancr last year, my whole world has been turned upside down. If i was you i would definitely keep prioritising travel, one shot at this life . and having trips to look forward to really helps keeps the excitement in life x

I am so happy you are back, but I am thrilled that you had an amazing time in Jordan! ❤ Such gorgeous scenery, I loved the travel vlog.. I also get bitten by mosquitos and they get sort of infected and half my calf is red and tender and I usually take Aerius, a type of antihistamine. Also, when I was in Vietnam for a month I got mosquito spray repellents from there, because the mosquitos were a different species than the ones we have in Romania. We didn't have to take any anti-malaria medicine, so that was great. I am so excited for what other locations you choose to visit next.. Omg you even mentioned Vietnam. We had a great time there for the entire month of February, we got to experience their traditional Lunar New Year, Tet, the city was decorated so nicely, I would move there tomorrow.

I am so excited for you.. and that you made a little travel group of friends on this trip to Jordan! ❤ Depending on the time of the year you go, you can visit southern Vietnam in January/February (We went to Ho Chi Minh, Mekong Delta, Cu Chi Tunnels and Phu Quoc island among others) but the rest of the group also visited the northern part, Hanoi, Da Nang and Ha Long Bay and it was rather cold. And yes, one of the couples we went with had their honeymoon there and did a tour of Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam the previous year and they were dying to go back.

Hey Iris. So sorry to hear about the mozzie bites. I too suffer from them, and get an allergic reaction. I've been using citronella as a repelent and worked wonders for my last 2 holidays. I think its smells nice too. ❤
Mosquitoes love certain blood types! O+ and O- are their favourite types apparently. I’m the same! When I get bitten they are the size of golf balls and so itchy! I have citronella candles if I’m sat outside in the dark and have always got to reapply my big spray
@@irisbudgets no worries, I read up that after O they love A next. Also other factors can influence this, smell, alcohol, heat, as well as wearing darker clothing apparently

I’m the same I’m SO over reactive to mosquitos and they love to bite me, I went to Greece a few years back and was bitten 100+ times on my legs and my legs welted up and wept. So painful and embarrassing, since then I always use a cream or gel based mosquito repellent any brand but I won’t just spray my legs in case I miss an area, if I do get a bite calamine cream is amazing, the thick kind that dries up and cracks and then wash it off wish water. after it heals I scarred up a lot so I used aloe Vera gel and dry brushed my legs a few times a week to get rid if the red scars. Hope that help.

And although people on the trip were really nice and looked after Me, I was embarrassed as a 40 year old woman nearly in tears from the pain! It’s awful. That’s such great advice thank you so much. Iris, I get the worst bites in the UK as well as abroad 🤣 antihistamines will stop you reacting so badly. I have to take them because I overreact so badly. Ask the doctor for stronger ones as well! I have had them infected as well & ended up in hospital, so try to take the antihistamines (I try 8-10 days before I go then my whole trip, and for a bit when I’m back). Never be embarrassed by them! Just means you have the good blood 🤣 but they can be so painful as well so I feel your pain! If they are getting infected, draw a circle round them to see how much they grow as well in case they continue to get worse x

This is me Iris. Skin so soft, anti histamine every day and take hydrocortisone cream with you. Apply that to the bites. I think there is a combo cream with hydrocortisone and antibiotic but the pharmacist would know. I think I bought that when in Greece once. Loved the Jordan vlog.

So glad your back I've missed my morning fix😁Being a Scottish red head living in Australia the mozzies love me!!! I always use Avon Skin-So-Soft Bug Guard Plus it also has an SPF of 30. It is the best one I have tried for me. To treat bites I use tea tree oil, I also take a bad reaction to mozzie bites! Can't draw she says, your camel looks great 😄Love Errol 🦉
Ah no I bet it’s bloody awful there for mozzies! Yeah I had skin so soft I just forgot to re apply it after 6 glasses of red 🥴😂😂 tee tree oil is a good shout I will try that thank you 🙌🏼
I have the same problem with mossie bites. It’s awful! I’ve found soaking them in salt water and taking piriton every day to help

I take garlic capsules for 6 weeks before I go antihistamines and a bite and sting cream . Keep taking garlic caps on holiday to xx

My other daughter googled all the essential oils that repel bugs and blend them together and added to distilled water in a spray bottle. She does alot of camping and says that works.

Glad you had a great trip, metholated spirits is an old remedy on bites dab on with a cotton ball works straight away the relief is instant if inflamed will hurt a little try a test patch first good luck

Xxx also yes take antihistamines before, during and after and also you can get an antihistamine cream to apply on them called ‘antisan’ also an ‘after bite’ stick might help after you’ve first been bitten. Spider 🕷️ bites, mosquitoes are smaller,I lived in South Africa and if you have sweet blood 🩸 mosquitoes love you. Sun protection with lemon 🍋 flavour in it as mosquitoes 🦟 hate lemons. Loved 🥰 your trip and all the historical buildings were amazing 🤩 😊❤

So sorry to hear about your issue. My daughter is highly allergic to mosquito bites! She reacts the same as you. She uses a bug spray with deet and anti-itch cream on bites. Sugars in the blood make you more tasty.

Oh you poor girl. You're allergic to mosquitoes. I am too. When they bite they inject something like a blood thinner so as they suck on your blood it doesn't clot up. I have used Carona Ointment all my life. My parents answer for any injury was "wool fat and a band aid". Technically it's for animals, but don't let that stop you. It's an antiseptic, so it draws out anything foreign, infection, pus, etc. It doesn't burn, it's thick and a little goes a long way. If the jar gets a film on top just stir it up and mix that lanolin fat back in. Good luck. ❤❤ Love your videos.

i have the same problems with reaction to bites, they love me..... i do the antihistamine thing and it does help, but also use antiseptic on bites as soon as they hapen, even hand sanitiser if i dont have anything to hand, and this seems to help
also, i have traveled the world since i was a teenager, i am now 50, not traveling so much at the mo as i have a 12 year old, but i lost my husband to cancr last year, my whole world has been turned upside down. If i was you i would definitely keep prioritising travel, one shot at this life . and having trips to look forward to really helps keeps the excitement in life x

I am so happy you are back, but I am thrilled that you had an amazing time in Jordan! ❤ Such gorgeous scenery, I loved the travel vlog.. I also get bitten by mosquitos and they get sort of infected and half my calf is red and tender and I usually take Aerius, a type of antihistamine. Also, when I was in Vietnam for a month I got mosquito spray repellents from there, because the mosquitos were a different species than the ones we have in Romania. We didn't have to take any anti-malaria medicine, so that was great. I am so excited for what other locations you choose to visit next.. Omg you even mentioned Vietnam. We had a great time there for the entire month of February, we got to experience their traditional Lunar New Year, Tet, the city was decorated so nicely, I would move there tomorrow.

I think my next trip is going to be Vietnam next year! So I’ll take your advice and buy stuff out there too! A whole month there must have been amazing I wish I could do that!! We’re going to add on Cambodia and Bangkok too so it’ll be about 3 weeks I think!

I am so excited for you.. and that you made a little travel group of friends on this trip to Jordan! ❤ Depending on the time of the year you go, you can visit southern Vietnam in January/February (We went to Ho Chi Minh, Mekong Delta, Cu Chi Tunnels and Phu Quoc island among others) but the rest of the group also visited the northern part, Hanoi, Da Nang and Ha Long Bay and it was rather cold. And yes, one of the couples we went with had their honeymoon there and did a tour of Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam the previous year and they were dying to go back.

Hey Iris. So sorry to hear about the mozzie bites. I too suffer from them, and get an allergic reaction. I've been using citronella as a repelent and worked wonders for my last 2 holidays. I think its smells nice too. ❤

Mosquitoes love certain blood types! O+ and O- are their favourite types apparently. I’m the same! When I get bitten they are the size of golf balls and so itchy! I have citronella candles if I’m sat outside in the dark and have always got to reapply my big spray

Heard a clip from that Dr Amir about bites, saying people have different enzymes in the body & unfortunately it’s those that insects go for ….didn’t hear the end of the piece as to any remedies so might be worth a listen to xx

I’m the same I’m SO over reactive to mosquitos and they love to bite me, I went to Greece a few years back and was bitten 100+ times on my legs and my legs welted up and wept. So painful and embarrassing, since then I always use a cream or gel based mosquito repellent any brand but I won’t just spray my legs in case I miss an area, if I do get a bite calamine cream is amazing, the thick kind that dries up and cracks and then wash it off wish water. after it heals I scarred up a lot so I used aloe Vera gel and dry brushed my legs a few times a week to get rid if the red scars. Hope that help.

And although people on the trip were really nice and looked after Me, I was embarrassed as a 40 year old woman nearly in tears from the pain! It’s awful.

Iris, I get the worst bites in the UK as well as abroad 🤣 antihistamines will stop you reacting so badly. I have to take them because I overreact so badly. Ask the doctor for stronger ones as well! I have had them infected as well & ended up in hospital, so try to take the antihistamines (I try 8-10 days before I go then my whole trip, and for a bit when I’m back).
Never be embarrassed by them! Just means you have the good blood 🤣 but they can be so painful as well so I feel your pain!
If they are getting infected, draw a circle round them to see how much they grow as well in case they continue to get worse x
