Love the samurai switch blade rod YakPak used first. This challenge quickly devolved it hand lining. That should be the next challenge “hand lining 6lb mono”

Try an Alvey reel. There's also a baitcaster version of the pen rod. It works about the same. I grew up using hand lines. Caught up to 8 foot sharks on them. The trick is to get your bait whirling in your right hand and when it's got some speed up, you launch it and point the hand reel where it's going. With practice I can throw a 12" mullet about 60 feet out for live bait.

i've seen the fly swat reel before. it's hard to thread the line thru the front of the reel, but it really spools like a bait caster. you put your bait on the spatula and throw it out like you're swatting at a fly.
