I too have started to take everything (read or unread) that I'm no longer thinking it's something I want to keep and donating them. It does, indeed, spark joy. Every time I drop off a pile of books I breathe a little deeper.
@@novelideea I definitely want to get better at doing this. I find it so hard to get rid of books. One thing that has helped me with the unread ones is the thought that they are languishing on my shelves and someone could be enjoying them!

I have a whole load of colourful scarfs I used to wear quite a lot because I tend to wear black and grey jumpers and dresses so they add in nice touch of colour plus kept my neck warm in the winter. They’ve been packed away - it’s nice to rediscover clothes that you haven’t worn in a while!

My goal is to read my owned tbr. 3 of my own books and then I can borrow 1 library book so that I’m still supporting libraries.

I should probably implement something like that myself because I’m just constantly reading library books at the moment. And while I definitely wanted to keep borrowing library books to support them, it’s definitely getting in the way of reading my own books this month. But then some of the books I’ve had on hold for ages so just need to manage a bit better. Happy reading!
I'm such a mood reader, so I can relate to what you are sharing. I feel like setting number goals and trying to stick to tbr lists suck the joy out of reading for me 😖 that's actually why I've never done read alongs or reading challenges. Have to be really selective with the reading challenges or read-alongs that you take part in or it can quickly dominate your reading life. As someone who always felt they were a mood reader, I quickly let that get out of control and it made something that supposed to be a wonderful hobby a little bit stressful.

I love your ramble updates. I'm also doing the Ben reads good challenge...but I need to finish my current book before i start my Ann book. I'm going to read Ann Leckie ancillary justice and have commonwealth by ann pattchet as an audiobook back up. I'm also doing a version of read what you own challenge, but for me it's not just reading what I own but also unhauling, so I got my husband and run to roll dice for how many I have to read and unhaul (physical for both) before I can buy another book (minimum 2 maximum 12) I got 10 so the idea being that I have to read 10 physical I owe but also have to unhaul 10 I own (they can be different books to what I read if I decide to keep any) before I'm allowed to buy another physical book. I'm not limiting myself on library books but I need to be trying to read more than I own and moving it on after when I don't think I'll reread or I'm not emotionally attached to it, since last year I only read a 1/3rd owned, this is pretty much my main goal this year, read what I own, do Ben reads good challenge and also read war and peace. Once I've done 10 I can buy 1 book and they get to roll the dice again!
@@jillybeanh67 sounds like a fun system! I think the issue with me and reading what I own is that I am constantly borrowing books from the library based on all of the ‘best of 2024’ videos! I love the read good challenge for the variety that it’s offering me from my own shelves. Such a fun idea. A few years back I used to do the read harder challenge which I think was set up by the book riot website and it was similar and that it would have unusual prompts. I might try and return to that actually!

I haven't read Dragonflight, but I have read her Harper Hall trilogy and it is an all time favorite series. Dragonsong, Dragonsinger, and Dragondrums.

Methinks someone's donated their Cambridge companion guides post study. I bought a couple for OU, they cost me a decent amount, I'm keeping them!
