iTunes Crashes iMovie 11 UPDATE☟

UPDATE: 04/16/2017
I tried the latest version of iTunes (Version 12.6) and there was NO fix for the iMovie 9.0.4 incompatibility.

iMovie 11 (9.0.4) was crashing when I tried to add music.
The reason was the newest version of iTunes 12.5.1.21 is incompatible with iMovie 9.0.4. Doing System Recovery to 09-07-2016 and disabling iTunes Preference for automatic update download, fixed the problem for me.
Also ... check SYSTEM PREFERENCES and find the App Store.
Make sure the "Automatically check for updates" is UNCHECKED, as well as the 3 boxes underneath it ("Download newly available updates in the background" & " Install App Updates" & "Install System Data Files and security updates") . What I do to get security updates is check "Software Updates" , and manually download only the security updates. Yes... the iTunes 12.5.1 update is "lurking". Be careful .
