This is INTENSE! I didn't know the plot of this was so close to the original movie. Spoilers below................ The fact that the ship that their on was a Weyland/Yutani ship that found the Alien that Ripley blew out of the air-lock from the first movie really tied them together really well. AND the fact that the Synthetic Ash was in this as well really gave this a great connection to the first movie.
Whomever gave us this opportunity to watch this, I THANK YOU! I'm disabled and can't get out to see movies, or afford to spend money on the hundreds of Streaming services and Blu-Ray DVD's. This is definitely a treat for me, and again I thank you.

@ Ye I def get that…its true but obv its not going to be as good as the original..they never are. The forced stuff can def go to hell and the characters arent great sure but they are a lot better than covenants… Is it a perfect movie..no but its rly not that bad either.
The pacing was not great. Very little in the way of getting you to understand who each character really is as a person and as a result they are all wholly unlikable, annoying, and forgettable. This movie also suffers from what 90% of horror movies suffer from and that is a brain dead cast of stupid characters. They're all dumb and make really stupid choices that should be obvious. There are only 3 characters worth anything in this movie. Andy, other Ash, and the Alien Human Hybrid at the end. Every one else is basically used as kill dummies for the sake of the aliens having something to kill. The set pieces were fantastic. Cinematography was generally good, but the characters and the writing were rancid ass. It wasn't even entertaining. I was upset I spent the bandwidth to watch it. I'd much rather watch Alien: Resurrection. Even Prometheus was better than Romulus.

Ah yes, they give us a big insight on how scary xenemorphs biology works and how scary synthetics/ androids are, yet here we are with old pioneer alien fans.
@@Man-Man-223 This isn't a prequel, they literally said they reverse engineered the biology of the xenomorph Ripley killed in the first movie lol edit: also nostalgia only goes so far. The first two movies aren't still being shown in theatres occasionally because of nostalgia. Top tier acting, characters, and set design is why those movies will always be remembered.

I wasn't great, lots of eye rolling nods to the first two movies. But damn the sets were awesome. Love that they went back to the retro sci-fi vibe instead of the super advanced sci-fi that was in Prometheus
I like in the far future we still not advanced that much , dreadful pvc protector gear clunky manual gear operations terrible lighting and everything seems to need steam to work and hats of to emergency lighting and alarms , how useful ! The debris and ice fields defy physics also .
Hope 'another' Alien-type of series sci-fi story movie is made. The First ALIEN MOVIE Story line reminded me of the BOOK "VOYAGE OF THE SPACE BEAGLE" written by a Famous Author whose name I can't remember right now. Before BIG PICTURES like this were created, I READ MANY OF THE GREAT AUTHORS PAPERBACK BOOKS that I bought for 50 cents up to $2.00 I spent with my school LUNCH MONEY & was known as a "BOOK-WORM" since I ALWAYS had one in my back-right pocket in my Thick Cotton Bluejeans!! (Blue-Jeans are thin lousy made pants now-a-days). This movie is OK, but,...We need new stories made from OTHER FAMOUS WRITERS & make only ONE STORY not a series of them, in my opinion.
I used to love it when I would find a cheap or free book, one time I found a book The Godfather sitting on someones verge for bulk rubbish collection, it’s an excellent book and was far better than the movie and I like most people really enjoyed the movie.
Shame. I really liked the director's 2013 version of evil dead but this was terrible. The last twenty minutes were utter garbage, but we likely have to thank Ridley Scott for that.
It's like a group of teenage fans got together to make a tribute to their favourite sci-fi franchise, and ended up making a superior product to the big players, because they actually know what fans are looking for.
