I actually put 3 cheap mojo spreaders in tandem with a battleship on either end working opposite of each other and you get a dozen swimming dekes, for about 3-4 hours anyway.

Most dogs whimper when they swim. My dog does the same thing. I think they are restricting their throat so they don’t swallow water, and breathing at the same time. Makes them whine
You need to be serving those boys steak, eggs hash browns and toast. Not some dam break sandwich. That way even if they don't get any ducks they'll come back for the breakfast.
I shot a spoonbill the other day and I'm not sure what went wrong because I was using the right shells and was far enough away but it exploded into a mist of blood and feathers. Some was salvageable enough to at least give to my dog
It's amazing how fast labs run out of gas. 40 retrieves is the equivalent of an upland dog hunting for a half hour. Most versatile breeds can run all day
@@Madtown.Outdoors no they def dont. There is a reason why nobody on the national bird dog circuit uses labs, it's because they can't run like pointing breeds. They are good for diving off docks and fetching birds. Anytime you want to wager that your labs can run all day, I have a couple gsp's that will embarrass you and your lab

But here in Minnesota, on a 9 degree morning, with 15 mph NW winds on the pond, your lab will be happy and his pointer will die. Labs and Chesapeakes are the only dogs that I've seen happily dive in on sub 10 degree days.
@@davidrobert820 that's what waterproof heated kennel mats are for. If I can afford to invest $10k plus into each dog then I am pretty sure I can swing $150 for a heated matt too... I saw a chessy die of hypothermia 2 yrs ago on a day my male gsp survived with only a vest and kennel warming pad. Gotta take care of whatever ya got or it won't last regardless of breed. My gsp's do just fine in single digit temps and double digit sustained winds, but I know how to take care of my investments
