Regular Wild Ginger Running fans will know that I’m still managing my foot injury, plantar fasciitis, by wearing mainly road shoes for most of my trail running, which makes it difficult for me to test new trail shoes.
So that you don’t go short on shoe reviews, I’ve recruited two new testers - Chris Rugg, a keen trail runner who lives near me and regularly travels to trail races further afield, and Vicky Mousley, a super fit fell runner who lives in Accrington and regularly races in the Cross Country Championships.
Chris and Vicky are both really lovely and passionate about trail and ultra running, so I hope you’ll enjoy their reviews on Wild Ginger Running.

I love my Roclite 275s, but did have a lot of pain on the top of both feet after a few miles in to a run! I was advised to try flat laces and it worked a treat!
    Great review 👌

I've been using these shoes over the past 12 months for all distances and on all terrain for up to 50 mile races and love them. I have exceptionally wide feet (bunions on both feet) and these are the only shoes that don't rub and give me blisters on that joint. Have to agree with Vicky, the laces act like a cheese grater and are just a stupid length. I don't keep a record of mileage, but do know that I would normally have replaced at least 3 times over, so the graphene grip definitely a winner, also unlike other inov8's I've used, the uppers are wearing well (just starting to give around the toe joint.

Surely if the laces are too long you could just cut them down?

You can, but you have to burn the ends so they don't fray.

how are these for road running?

I wouldn't use them for only road running but if you have to do a section on road they are defo comfy enough.

@@wildgingerruns I am moving from UK to Asia. I really don't want to take a road and a trail shoe so looking for a 2 in 1. I'm looking to get into hiking walks and running on trails a lot more out there in the tropics. Also may do the odd city run for convenience. I'm not doing anything crazy for now, just entry level 5-10km runs. I have a sense ride 4 salomon but haven't dared to take them out of the house yet.
      Any ideas?
