    I love reading comments from fellow knife, enthusiasts!!! 🤔I’m an auto enthusiast also.. same thing happens with the best channels …
    Reminds me of what a friend of mine , his grandmother used to say , ‘two knuckleheads are better than one’ ; almost every time we worked together, he took the opportunity to say that.
    Enthusiasts brainstorming /sharing .
    By the way
    I came here by way of the knife doctor …
    Any other folks in the audience: does this does this discussion remind you of : at the past Blade shows.. sitting at the tables in the back by the concessions… taking a break… and pulling out recent purchased knives and sharing and talking about them? Well, specially, us older guys that needed a half hour to an hour break.
    What amazed me and my daughter ( frequent companion in all three days of the show) was that we were speaking to folks from all over the world!!! I can’t over emphasize the experience that both of us had there …
    Also several conversations with Ethan Becker… over the years… I often thought it was amazing that he remembered my daughter and I . And same was true with several other venders. Great folks that were interest in speaking to you about knives whatever sharing they could do.. Genuine people.
    I didn’t make it to the last three shows ..
    Just had a total knee so I should be in good shape to return next year.
    A aspect of the show : lots of folks talk about the cost/ money (in not wanting to spend it). But if you’re a knife enthusiast… going there and talking and learning, and just listening to folks ; taking in all that information… the seminars… Without making a single purchase, the experience is awesome. Being around like minded folks enthusiastic about a tool…. You just have to set limits.. be focused on your wants and needs (have a list?).
    Most of my last 20 years has been a Camillus/ Becker / Spyderco Fan … haven’t really much looked at other knives… only picked up a handful of other makes. Either was a giveaway price/loved how it felt… … but basically haven’t straight too far from my main focus.
    I loved your comment: how a knife takes you back… I have knives that my daughters have used when they were small.. now their kids are that age… I use knives that my dad used.. heck I use a shovel that my dad owned (that I reconditioned on my 2 x 72) . Every so often I re-oil it with tung oil).
    I compost in the ground all of our vegetable scraps (I tell the neighborhood kids I feed the worms when they ask me why I’m doing)(crazy old man)..
    but every time I touch that shovel, whether using it or reconditioning it… it takes me to a ‘special ‘ place.
    Sorry got carried away 2 cups of coffee should’ve had one.

    Tell Wade that Case made a set of shears, the ones I have seen were made for bird hunters and used to dress out game birds The shears I have were from about 1986-1988 and given to me by my employer as he took several of us guys to his ranch near Loredo to hunt Quail and he gave all of us, about 12-15 of us a set of those Case shears with a factory sheath

    Steak knives are serrated in 99% of cases specifically becauseca fine edge will roll right over as soon as it's pressed in to the hard plate. Serrated edges stand up to that type of abuse without much issue. You will see fine edge steak knives here and there but for the most part it's pretty rare.

    Im going to poke fun and throw a joke on the modern folders. I call the modern folders hipster knives, our grandfathers and dads wouldn't be caught with a modern folder in their pockets, especially the ones with the so called super steels that a person couldn't sharpen with a stone.

    • @KnifeKrazy.
      @KnifeKrazy.  Месяц назад

      I will throw this back at you. One reason they wouldn’t have one in their pockets is because they didn’t make them back then. Here’s another way to look at it. If you have any guns, do you only have black powder guns and single shots? Or do you have an AR or Glock? The automobile you drive. Is it only a 1950 car or truck? Or do you drive a modern vehicle? The tv you watch, old tube or flat screen? I can go on and on. Times change and new things are made. Doesn’t make the new things bad? Something for you to ponder on. Thanks for watching my channel.

    • @WoodsmanHobo777
      @WoodsmanHobo777 29 дней назад

      @@KnifeKrazy.People like what they like but I think most people who are into modern folders are because of status and brand recognition, like Benchmade Spyderco, Micro Tech etc. I will admit most Spyderco's are fairly practical, ergonomic, and usually fits the hand well. Not all but a lot of modern folders are so unpractical. A lot of these knife companies are now making knives look like futuristic spacecrafts that have the most unconventional, unpractical blades that actually make it cumbersome to use or cut. It's like all these blade manufacturers are all in competition to see who can make the most expensive, funkiest, gimmicky, furthest thing from a knife and call it a knife. Knife Center puts out a video every week or so of the latest knives on the market and I watch it just for a good laugh. It's become a comedy show because of the knives these manufacturers are putting out. I also watch it to see the latest mediocre Benchmade's just to laugh at their prices. But back to the traditional knives, they just work, they're classy, they look good, and most don't cost a house payment. I guess I'm a analog man living in a digital world. And about the guns, I love all guns, old, black powder, AR's, modern, small and big.

    Hey I have a question about my leatherman I just got in the mail. Do you know if it is made in America? No where on the tool is the USA stamp. And they put Portland Oregon also. But this supertool 300 doesn't show either. If it is made in USA, then why can't they put the stamps on the tool?

    • @KnifeKrazy.
      @KnifeKrazy.  Месяц назад +1

      All Leatherman’s are made in the USA. The reason only a few models have USA on them and most don’t. Is because the models without is not made with enough USA made parts. It requires a certain percent of parts made in the USA before they will put the USA stamp on their knives but they all are assembled in the USA with some USA made parts. Just not enough percent to get the stamp.

    • @KnifeKrazy.
