If anyone faces an issue like me where you followed all the steps in the video but it still doesn't connect make sure that your firewall settings are correct after defining the port forwarding. So on my home router there a block all incoming services rule which basically blocked the connection to the vpn server. So I added in another specific firewall rule ontop of the explicit deny statement in the ACL to allow me to connect to the internal IP of the VPN server. Then in the wireguard client make sure there is a 3 way handshake going on so that you know the connection is established. Until then, yeah double check the firewall stuff.
So, i was trying to vpn from my college network and it didnt work. So either im doing something wrong, my college doesnt allow vpns or this doesnt work but id say there is a higher probbability that it does work and that the issues i encountered were caused by my specific circumstances cause ultimately i was seeing in the vpn server logs that i connected but there was some intermediary ip and so it couldnt transfer any packets. So id say give it a try, it migh just work for you.
Your videos are unmatched compared to others on the same topic. Your tutorials are well put together and detail explanations.
