Yeah theyre australia’s most cmon used in my opinion for fish n chips. Theyre pretty good.

It’s similar to flounder how it’s flat in profile and sits in silt or sand. They have 3 venomous spikes and very aggressive predator. Much larger mouth obviously. For eating It’s like gummy flake shark what you would have for fish and chips but I’d regard it as better texture with a mild cabbage/mushroom aftertaste. They fight pretty hard sometimes and give great head shakes

The entrance is so fished out at this point. They need to open the mouth and get some cleaner water in hopefully brings in the bairfish and bigger species

It’s very hard to get to , it is definitely only accessible on low tide & you will need waders to get through the mud & rotten ribbon weed , not for the faint hearted .

@@Maximum_rust Yes , I know exactly where it is , been fishing the entrance , crabbing & prawning here for close to 40 years , that spot you were at produces a lot of fish at times but gets flogged hard , having a boat for close to 4 decades enables us to move around & limit the fishing pressure put on various spots , our boat is the one you will see with 4 prawn lights clamped to the boat while moving around to find where the prawns are thickest . I was waiting for someone to get the joke about your spot but I suppose it required a local with a sense of humour to figure it 😉👍
