I recently got a Hobbyboss 1/72 P-38 Lightning and I have to say I was impressed in a good way when I opened the box! All sprues separated in individual bags, the decals with the protection paper taped, foam wrapped around the small parts and the instructions in colour with the number of Mr Hobby, Tamiya and Humbrol paints on it. And the details on the plastic parts are really decent. Looking forward to see you building this submarine! Looks great!
Now this looks like its a really interesting kit! You don't often see model kits of the Japanese catapult submarines. I'm really tempted to try and get this kit. Anyway great review Matt, BTW I'm glad to hear your using music in your review videos too!
Seems like it would be a quick weekend build and paint. Seems reasonable for a fiver (or so) but wouldn't give more than that for it. Nice vid, good review. Build it I say...
Unboxing videos only take a few hours to record and edit, as you can imagine, builds take considerably longer. I have got 5 build videos ready to be edited, but with an average of 6 hours spent scripting, recording audio, editing images and video, rendering and uploading it's just a matter of finding the time :(
If you enjoyed building the I-400, you should try this Flyhawk 1/700 U-boat in drydock kit. Very nice. www.scalemates.com/products/img/4/8/5/276485-11575-22-pristine.jpg

Thanks! Yes, it is a nice easy kit to put together :D
excellent review.
Glad you liked it!
I recommend the aoshima 1/700 USS Wasp or 1/2000 USS Lexington
I'll have to investigate!
That's nice how the stand is pre-made.
I'll bet that removing the airplane's propeller, without breaking it, is going to be a challenge.
Yes! It can be a bit of a fiddle - but the stand is a nice inclusion
how come you do so many more unboxings than actual builds? id love to see these things fully built
