For anyone who thinks that losing the container is jank, let me give you some insight from IRL experience. You don't "buy" the container, you're leasing it. Anyone who's been by a port and have seen the immense stacks of shipping containers, all of those are owned by the companies whose names are on the sides. Shippers lease them, fill them then send them off to wherever they're going. To purchase one is quite expensive, I don't know what new ones cost but am aware that an old jacked up used one is around $20k for 40 foot container.

There's also a side pick that's essentially the same thing, only it grabs the containers from the sides, hence "side pick". There's also trailers (we call them chassis', cuz that's all they are; basic frame with axles and a kingpin) that are made solely for the containers. Why didn´t you buy the land around the mine, so you could just place the iron furnace near the iron mine? I did place it on the flat land behind the lamp posts at 5:57 - 5:59
Thanks so much for the information of free planks. I’ve invested all my savings into equipment to sell the free planks to make bank. Best money glitch ever
Yarder and missyb grainquid pro silo drop logs on the grate and store in silo then select distributing and its going to the feed the mills or factorys. Love that silo system totally under used and very under rated in my opinion.
It's over looked as the tree function was added in an update. I have mentioned this to a few RUclipsrs mr sealy p, driver53 klutch simulations ect, to try to get the word out for someone like me that has been looking for an all in one factorys silo. Unfortunately some fill types it doesn't go in to the silo. But it's amazing.
@@natejast1971 tbh bud I've been using that silo system on other maps, but didn't realise you could do that with wood. Like you say it was added in an update, I missed it! I used to work in Sequoia National Park and the Giant Sequoias are very poor wood for lumber so It may not be that you are not supposed to cut them down but rather the they are really poor quality wood for lumber.
Something to consider, I am using the Unimog mod from the modhub on this save, it is the perfect vehicle for this map. I am impressed with this mod, it is fun. Not very fast at 50mph, but fun.
Hey buddy after watching this video I got crack8ng lolol so 5 straight hrs and 6 in game years and the coaster is built, mind you this was with the time going flat chat most of the time lolol. Thanks for all of ur tips and tricks throughout the years
Thank you for the tips. I was getting confused about things. I was starting to lose interest in the game. You make a difference. Keep up the good work.
The volvos are nice but I prefer the TLX phoenix with max engine upgrade with the rigid bed and Dumper It'll climb those hills like they're not there I leased it until I can buy Also if you have too much iron ore on hand you can put down a container sell point It'll sell for around 2600-2800 on easy
I find the 'tariffs' on Redwood to be entirely acceptable. It is of course a compromise; Giants have not, as yet, categorised the wood within the marketing or production system. We can distinguish (identify) trees and wood (logs) but the market only perceives length or quantity. It follows that reduction in quantities for cut Redwoods is the only method available without readjusting the games concept of timber. Computers are programmed and sometimes parameters over time may became constraints. Keep entertaining us Mr S-P and don't ever stop with the indignation I love it! But I couldn't rest without my input on this one :). PS: Thank you for the planks for free.
Lol @MrSealyP wood chips drop on the ground under the very tall grey/galvanised output pipe surrounded by a circular fence at the top end of the sawmill before the container sales! 👍🏻
Great video Mr.Sealyp thanks 😊. Mr.Sealyp I found out you can also use the LX Phoenix Rigid XL with the auto load flat bed with the unrealistic setting and you can go into the saw mill at the bottom and load up on free planks
Hi mate, just so you know, the woodchip counter in the buildings menu doesn't include what's already come up through the pipe and out onto the pile - so it's only counting what's in the building being processed. This is why your values seemed really low. Not sure if you can get an amount shown of what's in the pile, but after a couple of years of in game time I realised that's where I got woodchips from, scooped them up and needed like 3 trailers, had over 100k litres sat there!
I've been debating on starting a save on Silverrun since I just started one on Frankenmuth. This video is encouraging me a bit to dabble on Silverrun a bit.
Holy Cow! And you're using the Silverun map too. I was about to give up on this map because I could not find enough flat land to add factories. I never thought of buying a farm and leveling it. roflmao. And free stuff too. I'll have that conveyor after work. And what's the point of loading the containers onto a train that you have to pay $1k for to rent when you can sell the containers here?
If you're on the new DLC and have noticed the Sawmill giving away free Planks, you are having a mod conflict, here's why: There are multiple mods conflicting with the new DLC 1. Sawmill Pack by: OlaHaldor 2. Liftable Pallets & Big Bags by: Jos 3. Production Pallets w/Larger Capacity by: TopAce888 Also the: Fixed Crop Prices by: Disturbed Simulations Makes items heavier These are the mods I have tested and found having conflicts with the new DLC, I have not tested all mods just letting people know why their Planks are free. If you uninstall or turn off said mods your game should be fine, however if you continue to play with conflicting mods your game might develop problems in the future. It was reported to me by one person having problems with the mod conflict the Roller Coaster would not progress, no matter how many resources that were delivered.
Great video mate and very helpful info. There is an icon at that woodchipper if you don't own the sawmill. I'm wondering if you could leave a trailer under that woodchip pipe or use conveyer belt again.
I adore your ore-Chore Lore, We know the score, Rock Matador! It's four-on-the-floor to watch ore pour. Yeah, it all gets a bit Dr Seuss after a moment or two. I built the smelter just North of the the mine, as it's a) very close) roomy enough to turn stuff round. That said - I might get Stevies Grimme auto load conveyor at the top, and just run a line of belts. With care I can have the the metal on the far side from the belts. Hmm. Food for thought, Mr SealyP.
The wood chip pile up at that big round outside bunk with the tall conveyor chute above it, literally directly opposite of the water area to unload logs, past the sawmill, directly east or north can't remember which cardinal direction it is when traveling along side the tracks, just face opposite direction of water and you'll see the big outdoor round bunker with the tall white chute hanging above, it even has animation when dumping chips...
@MrSealyP I don't know how it was last year but I have found that you can build your own Iron mine from the build menu. I have 5 of them in addition to the one that's already on the map. I made my fortune selling metal to Elmcreek. But here's the catch! The trains always throw the metal off the train before it exits the map so what I did was find the sell point at the edge of the map on the train track ...there's two of them which is one at each end of the track. All I did was build roads crossing the tracks at those selling points so all I ever have to do is drive across the tracks at those points to sell all my goods and metal. But for the life of me I have never been able to get conveyor belts to work in any configuration! It's always nice to have more ore than you need especially when all you want to do is keep the metal production going. It would be so broken if you could place a sell everything grate right underneath the ore production chute! I thought about that last night.
heh, I'm running a "cheat my A. off" save right now. I placed the Iron furnace on the land directly to the right of the mine conveyor, I bought the surrounding land. I then use conveyors to scoop the ore and the huge Cat mining dump truck to deliver it right next door. Problem solved.
@@Rumblestrip Yeah, I thought about it. The Cat holds so much ore though that it really isn't worth the effort. Besides, I like that big dump truck. It was a BEAR getting up to the mine!
Thats what i said, if we get penalized for cutting sequois then why are they all over the place, taking up space for trees we can cut down. Make them an option for us to plant where/if we want or make them like any other tree.
I was wondering why I was getting 2 different purchase prices at that saw mill! If you go into placeable mode and right click the building and again near the water, you'll see
I just started playing yesterday and the map is beautiful and setup really well. Only issue I have is when loading up the train at the northern sawmill will all my goods I made and then sending it off the sell. When the train gets to the map edge to sell not everything makes it. Some items fall off (items and strapped down) and I have to go retrieve them and reload the train and send it off to sell again.
The 13 liters of woodchips are used for prefab walls and is independent of the amount you scooped up with the wheelloader. Does anybody know if you can store iron ore in the multifruit silos?
My understanding is you get a small amount of chips when they mill the logs. If you want more than usual you put it directly into the chipper. I think this sawmill is awesome. The starting wheel loader can have a bigger bucket. The problem is it can't hold the weight. Does anyone know of a weight that will connect to the back. Another easy option for. The ore is to build the furnace nearby and use a belt system all the way to dump it.
The free planks must only be a PlayStation glitch. I’ve just checked on PC and they are priced at 4212 per pallet. I also might be missing something, but deadwood seems to be of so little value, where giants say you can the deadwood from a contract, it doesn’t match the effort/cost of using the machinery to collect and deliver them to the sawmill. £20 for 12 trees!
@@seanobrien7169 I watched Daggerwin’s video and I don’t recall that he got much in litres in his own production. From memory less than 100l for a load on the startup Volvo forwarder at the wood turner. Other productions might give a better deal.I haven’t tried yet. I’m not with the cranes so it is taking me a long time to load a vehicle.
Just because they overlooked something doesn't mean you have to use it. For me I like a challenge, I'm not interested in using mods or glitches that are going to give me millions upon millions of $ in lightning speed. If that was the case, I'd be bored of the game in literally hours. I'm playing on normal and it's almost too easy to begin with.
Playing on hard is too easy, it just takes a long time to build up steam. That is why I play fast and loose. I play to have fun, not to work for pennies. Horses for courses, do what makes you happy, but keep in mind suffering does not make you a better player.
"Just because they overlooked something doesn't mean you have to use it." I agree with you personally. I mean if someone wants to do it, that's none of my business, but I've noticed that the default attitude for most of the Farming Simulator is "whatever gives me an advantage, whether it's broken, overpowered mods or game glitches is fair game". Not necessarily a bad or wrong thing, at the end of the day it's mainly a single player game and people are free to play however they like, it's really just an observation.
@@Qualjyn Amen. Couldn't care less what people do but for me I like starting with jack squat and building my way up. It gives me purpose to do what I'm actually doing. Why plant a wheat field to harvest if I already have 10's of millions of $. What would be the point. Lol For me, once $ is no longer a issue, I'm bored and done with the game, or map, in this games case.
Liftable Pallets is bugging the sawmill sell price of planks, they cost ~$7000 per pallet. You have a mod conflict. I had the same one. Can use vanilla augers and belts also. Im currently using the agi auger. Also the furnace can be loaded with ore via a belt, if you place it close enough.
For the iron selling price.. I wonder if you buy land built a furnace on it and sell the land (with the furnaceon it ) Can u then sell to the furnace.. Just a thought.. idk🤔👍
You can do the same thing with cheese at the buy anything silo. I've found if you try to move or switch vehicles while it's filling, it crashes the game. But it's free money if you don't touch the controller until your trailer shows that it's full.

While the base game stuff is in easily editable xml files.... the platinum expansion is in the pdlc folder with a dlc extension. I changed it to zip and stuff in several formats... but it's either unrecognizable, or it's password locked. So, no looking at the seqouia files for me. :(
I do like that conveyor belt 40mph not sure what governs the speed of belt but out of the same sell point it runs slow imto a trailer or just a global pallet under same sell point and it fills quickly. Just trying to figure it out as to what item sets the speed. It's an amazing mod for moving the belt just confused as to why the speed of the belt wasn't adjusted to be amazing aswell. Dude.! You took the belt method out of my head, I was literally going to try that today.! Great minds think alike. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Why didn´t you buy the land around the mine, so you could just place the iron furnace near the iron mine? I did place it on the flat land behind the lamp posts at 5:57 - 5:59
Don't know if it's been mentioned but you can also use the lizard forage pickup (mod) under the belt systems to pick up the ore
Bruh, this right here is gold. Work smarter not harder, Cheers!
Really useful info to know this, I'm enjoying the dlc but handling logs is a nightmare, being able to yard into a silo is game changing for me lol.
OMG, I had no idea such a mod was out there. Thanks so much for the info :D
Did anyone know the the jd gator standard in game has winch n so does the raptor also has 10ton winch
I used to work in Sequoia National Park and the Giant Sequoias are very poor wood for lumber so It may not be that you are not supposed to cut them down but rather the they are really poor quality wood for lumber.
Are they going to update the game because I have issues with loading vehicles but it flip the smie or pick up trak
The volvos are nice but I prefer the TLX phoenix with max engine upgrade with the rigid bed and Dumper
It'll climb those hills like they're not there
I leased it until I can buy
Also if you have too much iron ore on hand you can put down a container sell point
It'll sell for around 2600-2800 on easy
I was hoping that they giant sequoia would be giant. Little unimpressed with the ones in game but redwood are different than the sequoia right?
There's a flat are just downhill from the Iron Works that is perfect for the iron factory. Downhill with load, uphill with empty. Works awesome.
Buy the plot of land that surrounds the ore, place the production there and run conveyors right to it
If you're on the new DLC and have noticed the Sawmill giving away free Planks, you are having a mod conflict, here's why:
There are multiple mods conflicting with the new DLC
1. Sawmill Pack by: OlaHaldor
2. Liftable Pallets & Big Bags by: Jos
3. Production Pallets w/Larger Capacity by: TopAce888
Also the:
Fixed Crop Prices by: Disturbed Simulations
Makes items heavier
These are the mods I have tested and found having conflicts with the new DLC, I have not tested all mods just letting people know why their Planks are free.
If you uninstall or turn off said mods your game should be fine, however if you continue to play with conflicting mods your game might develop problems in the future.
It was reported to me by one person having problems with the mod conflict the Roller Coaster would not progress, no matter how many resources that were delivered.
I am having problems with selling metal. I think I have 1 or 2 of those mods installed. I will turn them off and see if that helps.
the iron ore and the conveyer belt idea is brilliant. wtg Mr Sealyp
all we need now is a auto load lorry that takes the new wood items and steel
where did or do you get the furnace to start a production chain.thats what i'd live to know???
I use the yarder to load the log trailer.or run the yarder to the mill pond and drop them in the pond
Great video mate and very helpful info. There is an icon at that woodchipper if you don't own the sawmill. I'm wondering if you could leave a trailer under that woodchip pipe or use conveyer belt again.
I adore your ore-Chore Lore,
We know the score, Rock Matador!
It's four-on-the-floor
to watch ore pour.
Lmao, I spoke too soon my bad, you found it through deductive reason good chap, lol...
i have set up my yarder so it drags the logs into a trailer through the back i have found the ponsee elephant is best as it opens up wide.
@MrSealyP
I don't know how it was last year but I have found that you can build your own Iron mine from the build menu.
Cheers for the info! Personally I enjoy loading with a shovel into a trailer, but always useful to know of other ways
heh, I'm running a "cheat my A. off" save right now. I placed the Iron furnace on the land directly to the right of the mine conveyor, I bought the surrounding land. I then use conveyors to scoop the ore and the huge Cat mining dump truck to deliver it right next door. Problem solved.
Run belts from the ore drop to the furnace fill...even faster and easier
@@Rumblestrip Yeah, I thought about it. The Cat holds so much ore though that it really isn't worth the effort. Besides, I like that big dump truck. It was a BEAR getting up to the mine!
Thats what i said, if we get penalized for cutting sequois then why are they all over the place, taking up space for trees we can cut down. Make them an option for us to plant where/if we want or make them like any other tree.
Brilliant mate no joke picking me up one as soon as i get on thanks for that tip
I was wondering why I was getting 2 different purchase prices at that saw mill! If you go into placeable mode and right click the building and again near the water, you'll see
Mr P I can't get the Porsche junior 108 or Volvo to download on ps5. Have you heard of this.
Thanks MrSealyp I didn't notice the saw mill part that you could buy the planks and stuff Duh!
Cable yarder straight into mill pond is what I'm doing at mo lol
I used that conveyor belt method for separated manure on Calmsden so I'm surprised I didn't think of this 🙈
Woodchips at the North Sawmill are in that big circle thing that looks like a circus arena.
I think the 13 liters of woodchips are used for pre fab walls
Ohh the iron ore belt yes is this mod on console? If so yay!! Cuz I have a 60KL trailer it takes awhile to fill up even with the big Volvo
Hi sir. I have a question. That crusher at the ore mine, what do you put in there and what is it used for ?
The 13 liters of woodchips are used for prefab walls and is independent of the amount you scooped up with the wheelloader.
Does anybody know if you can store iron ore in the multifruit silos?
I use the mod Underground Storage For Bulk Materials Or Liquids and I am able to store the iron ore in them.
@@jaheem666 OmaTana’s silos work fine with Iron Ore too. Just bought one to try and it accepted it just fine :)
The yarder would be great to load into containers.
The sawmill puts out woodchips on the pile every ingame hour. I noticed it by accident then I was at the pile then the hour changed
Ps4 do you have to buy the mine shaft. (Iron ore) bought equipment with bucket says you dont own land so it want let me put in a trailer
Hello Mrsealyp does this work if your in a different map and place this mineshaft down ?
My understanding is you get a small amount of chips when they mill the logs. If you want more than usual you put it directly into the chipper. I think this sawmill is awesome.
The starting wheel loader can have a bigger bucket. The problem is it can't hold the weight. Does anyone know of a weight that will connect to the back.
Another easy option for. The ore is to build the furnace nearby and use a belt system all the way to dump it.
I have noticed that you get different amounts of wood from dead trees depending on where you take it could the red wood trees be the same
Very helpful, MrSealyp! Thanks!
Xbox is also glitched. I'm playing the game on Xbox and it's glitched. Take advantage of this.
I hear (I haven't tried it yet) that you can get full weight for the deadwood at your owned productions. This might be worth picking it up.
@@seanobrien7169 yes it's better to use the deadwood for your own productions. Selling isn't worth it.
Its a mod conflict with liftable pallets... Turn it off, bet your price is fixed to what it should be. Turn it on, prices are bugged.
Cant wait till u start ur let's play on this map. It will be superb as per 👌 💯👊💙
"Just because they overlooked something doesn't mean you have to use it."
I agree with you personally.
@@seanobrien7169 Yeah, I hear ya. Once you get rolling it does get pretty easy.
@@Qualjyn Amen. Couldn't care less what people do but for me I like starting with jack squat and building my way up. It gives me purpose to do what I'm actually doing. Why plant a wheat field to harvest if I already have 10's of millions of $. What would be the point. Lol
For me, once $ is no longer a issue, I'm bored and done with the game, or map, in this games case.
Hi, Mr SealyP I have just been into shop at lower sawmill to get some free planks and none are listed any idea why ?
Liftable Pallets is bugging the sawmill sell price of planks, they cost ~$7000 per pallet. You have a mod conflict. I had the same one.
Can use vanilla augers and belts also. Im currently using the agi auger.
Also the furnace can be loaded with ore via a belt, if you place it close enough.
For the iron selling price..
I wonder if you buy land built a furnace on it and sell the land (with the furnaceon it )
Can u then sell to the furnace..
Just a thought.. idk🤔👍
You can do the same thing with cheese at the buy anything silo. I've found if you try to move or switch vehicles while it's filling, it crashes the game. But it's free money if you don't touch the controller until your trailer shows that it's full.
Where can someone get the conveyor belt at the beginning of the video?
At the lumber mill I work at wheelies the conex box for $100 a day
Thank you for sharing these tips with us.
To gather the metal I just use a conveior belt.
:P
MrSealyP just a heads you place a Iron Furnace on any map you play on. but there's no Mine shaft to place by the looks of things unless I'm looking in the wrong place for the Mine Shaft . can anyone help on this matter please
I am on xbox one and all the planks in the store have a price eg, long planks £10,476 per unit, which if you use for barrels like i did leaves very little profit..???
hi i this wont to know if i can use all the new dlc on any map of ore ore must i use the same map what have com with dlc
Hey i see that your on PS5 aswell might i ask you some tips and good mods? Pretty nee to the game but i find loading loggs a pain in the ass
Thank you my friend excellent video I'm gonna start doing the mining very soon.😃
Hey can this be for all consoles? I have a xbox one series x and i have the platinum edition on my game but cant find on how to do iron ore or anything like that. I am trying to complete the roller coaster but i need metal to complete it. Can some help me out plz.
Just asking I have a need for knowledge. Thanks.
Man the vsr modding auto load is a must for this map
😅 they’ve put them in the map not me , love to you and your family for these holidays,
So happy to hear you are doing a series on Silverrun Forest! I really enjoyed Griffin, IN and I am really interested to see what happens here. 🤔 I am new to logging so hoping to learn a few things from you......as I always do. 👍 Thanks for your contribution to this fantastic game! 👏
For some reason it won’t let me sell iron ore at the sell everything point, I’m using a modded trail so that may be the reason but I’ve used the trailer on other sell points and it works just fine
Hello, do you know of a way to make the iron ore come out faster of the mineshaft spout?
Speed up the timescale is the only way to speed up production
Why not just set up a conveyor belt from the spawn point to the iron foundry.
