I live in Alberta and work way up north near the border of the territories it gets down to -30 and 40C and that's without the wind chill, and even driving on paved roads can be pretty scary and dangerous. These men and women that drive those ice roads are a special breed for sure.
These incredible journeys through Russia, Canada, and along the Adriatic Highway showcase the sheer diversity and beauty of our planet's landscapes. From the remote ice roads of Canada to the stunning coastal highway, each adventure is a testament to the human spirit and the world's wonders. Thanks for this amazing documentary!
The Long Road to Siberia, Highway to the Arctic, The Canadian Ice Roads and The Adriatic Highway and off you go! Which MDR would you want to travel over? Let us know in the comments :)
Most insurance companies will cover your car falling through the ice one time. I know from experience living not far from the Canadian border in the upper mid-west of the US.
Um abraço aqui do Rio Grande do Sul Brasil nós temos entrando no verão com 34 a 36 graus de calor tudo de bom para a equipe do free documentary ❤👍👍👍👍👍🇧🇷
Never saw 👀 so many rain deer 😱 enjoyed viewing 🐕 dog sled races. Interesting activities at the jamboree. Only the seasoned veteran arctic circle pioneer's. Know how to survive comfortably well in the winter months. Special thanks to veteran resident pioneers sharing personal information/experiences. Pertaining to winter living in their region.
Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent motion photography pictures 📷. Enabling viewers to better understand what the orator was describing. Special thanks to veteran drivers and delivery customers/road crews. Sharing personal information/driving 🚗experiences. Making this documentary more authentic and possible. Along with separating facts from fiction. Interesting viewing the snow ❄ mobilers herding the raindeer. The bitter Siberian cold/wind seems to be the 🚚 trucks worse enemy. The video crew did a very professional job.
RE: RUSSIA - THE LONG ROAD TO SIBERIA - 'warms up to - 20 degrees C' which is - 4 F --- yet a couple times during the day i saw these blokes outside speaking to each other wearing JUST sweaters, no jackets! blows my mind. must be the vodka. with temps well below freezing -- HOW IS IT THAT THE ICE MELTS? -- at temps like that, in my world, everything would remain very frozen.

For real lmao. Like they don't have more opportunities nowadays than the "white man" lol. Remember, they were peaceful, even tho they were experts at scalping men and even skinning men while keeping them alive.
Brilliant doco...loved them all. But I never understand that when they're driving and getting stuck in the snow, why they dont put tree fronds in anything similar in front of the wheels, to give them grip...We've done that in the past and it WORKS !! 😅

Very intriguing places on planet Earth. Try to break down the episodes in 45 min to an hour. You get more videos and therefore more views on your videos. Very fascinating documentaries.
I used to build and maintain ice roads here in Northern Alberta ,Canada , sometimes in -57 C , it's just another day at work , spring break up sucks though when the ice gets rotten and start falling through then have to go rescue people. It's not much fun to drive ice roads back n forth to work everyday as they're not the smoothest. Have had helicopters drop barrels of fuel on my machine in emergency situations. Never travel alone , never shut motor off , always travel in a convoy and carry extra fuel and food. yawn.
What will happen now with our world s climate changing artic ice and glaciers are melting rapidly I wonder over time what will happen to theese ice roads and the livelihood of theese workers
I noticed none of their trucks have lockers in the front axels. All my rigs have electric lockers in the front. Some guys use air lockers, I prefer electric.
I have built ice roads in Alaska for many, many years. These guys should know better than to leave home without several sets of ring studied chains. They could drive up trees. The loaders and the vehicles would not slide sideways on the overflow. These guys are completely ignorant to remote arctic conditions.
@Chris_at_Home I worked on the Alpine project from its inception 1997 to the finish of all production equipment and pipelines. 2002 online ... all iceroads including NPRA .
About 27:50 minutes into this video they had to talk about their good ole fashion ( VODKA ) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I knew them being Russian and all that VODKA would come up at some point 🤣🤣🤣🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤣🤣🤣

Back when I was a traveling musician, did lots of traveling in Canada, especially Alberta, even in the winter, oh the block heater!
@@ThePrairieChronicles Ben, the winter drove from Edmonton to rainbow Lake to do a gig
@@ThePrairieChronicles exactly❤️
@@ThePrairieChronicles I was referring to still air temperatures my bad for not making that clear
Why? What’s the point of living in such an extreme location. 🤔

Hope the dogs don’t get sick even used to the weather, so with other animals and themselves too.
👍👍
10°C in winter where I live and it's cold AF.
And these Canadians live in -50°C😬
What will happen now with our world s climate changing artic ice and glaciers are melting rapidly I wonder over time what will happen to theese ice roads and the livelihood of theese workers
This video comes on way too much. IDK why literally every time I watch youtube this video plays after ANY video I watch
It’s so hilarious to know that what’s literally in my backyard actually makes RUclips
Good. But definitely looking into commercial-free utube after this.
As much as I dislike winter camping this is a hard negative for me...
This episode is awesome
What an awesome job they have. I’m surprised the Russians don’t use tire chains
Very well done. Very entertaining. 👍
👌
why aren't they running with chains on the tires?!!!.....i don't understand why they don't have spiked tires or chains....🤔
I noticed none of their trucks have lockers in the front axels. All my rigs have electric lockers in the front. Some guys use air lockers, I prefer electric.
250 miles ≠ 400 KM from plains to Dawson. With 80km/h speed it probably will take around 16 hours.
After long time new episode
Surprised the Russians didn’t have a tracked vehicle.. they do not mess around when it comes to off-road.
1..... most definitely,,,they r already here we rin trouble
Did those guys never hear of tire chains?
I have built ice roads in Alaska for many, many years. These guys should know better than to leave home without several sets of ring studied chains. They could drive up trees. I might have driven on those ice roads you built in Alaska.
exactly what i was thinking!
@Chris_at_Home I worked on the Alpine project from its inception 1997 to the finish of all production equipment and pipelines. 2002 online ... all iceroads including NPRA .
How come they dont use chains on the tires in Siberia? Does that not work in these conditions?
I miss other narrator, been watching for a decade plus. Hope he retired somewhere at least
👍
