    I think this is a very nice build. Proper case is important for everyday use and it is a little difficult to come by.

    One of the nicest build. Looks good, well grounded, and does not disregard electrical safety.

    My knowledge is I know how to dismantle an ATX PSU but putting it all back together is another question not to mention building the parts to power up the soldering iron or hot air gun. This needs knowledge of electronics before attempting this project. Kudos.

    Respect for doing this, I want one now. Though I feel it should be said that messing with a PSU is incredibly dangerous for anyone who is not 101% certain of what they are doing.

      @kvernesdotten 3 месяца назад

      @@Augusto_Levi Instead of messing with an ATX power supply if you dont know what you are doing? I would suggest buying a commercially available product instead, or at least buying a power supply made for this purpose that doesnt need to be opened up or resoldered internally, like a Meanwell PSU made for 3D printers that have terminals at the back where you connect your wires instead.
      Of course, if you do understand what you are doing and are certain you will not burn down your house or accidentally run 4000W straight through your body, you could always do this with an old computer PSU like he did in the video. Nothing wrong with that, just know the risks.

    If the pc power suppy works, you dont need those power supply modules you can just use the voltages of the pc psu and boost converters and for the fan speed controller you can use a driver with 555. That could be cheaper.

      Talvez tenha ficado mais caro que a estação completa...
      Há algum tempo tenho comprado para construir uma caseira, comprei o soprador térmico original, fiz o mapeamento dos fios, agora é só construir a estação, pois ali é uma resistência 127v ou 220v que podemos por um dimmer, a fan que é de 12v DC, que podemos fazer um reostato ou um controle de tensão ou pulso para variar a rotação da fan, tem uns fios que é o termopar para medir a temperatura do soprador, e um par de fios para um reed, sensor magnético, que desliga a resitência quando a pôe na base... Já o soldador com controle de temperatura pode usar um hikari 127 AC e um dimmer para dosar a temperatura por controle da tensão... fica mais barato e funcional, daí podemos colher as informações de temperatura através de um multímetro com essa função e teremos uma estação mais em conta, pois essas placas de controle são adquiridas na china, mais o tempo de envio, mais o risco de ser taxado, mais eventuais problemas de fabricação que não estaremos totalmente livres... E viva o compartilhamento.
