  • My Husaberg FS570 2011 has an Adler clutch that was slipping after just 700-800 miles. I tried to find online documents but the Adler website was very basic and not helpful. Posts at Husaberg.org and other forums didn't offer much help. Eventually I found a page on the Adler site that has some vids. They showed the disassembly and assembly so I was able to see the various pieces, how they go together and most important, the shims and where how they should be used. Turns out my shims were on the BOTTOM of the springs, not up top where they should be. I added another ship down under the spring and the slippage got worse. I then added them up top where they're supposed to be and that did the trick. This video covers this in great detail. To access the Adler vids, visit this page: www.adige.eu/pu...

Thanks for vid, wish you had pulled off the clutch pressure plate so we could see what the ramp/slipper arrangement might be like. Concerning coolant leaking from the tell-tale hole, I had that happen on a Suzuki SV650. I consulted with peeps on a forum and was told it's not uncommon for coolant to occasionally drip out of there and then for the dripping to go away for good (and not cuz all the coolant leaked out, lol). In my case it was consistent over the course of a month, so I eventually replaced that water pump coolant seal. But, again, sometimes you get a leak from that water pump seal, and with time it just stops. Obviously, anything more than an occasional drip merits a seal replacement. My leak was light, where I'd park the bike and then notice the next day that some coolant had dripped out.

If you go to the Adler site, you can see them disassemble and reassemble this clutch so you can see the arrangement in proper order for sure. I show the link in the vid and in the description area. Its the second one on this page: www.adige.eu/public/ENG/multimedia/APTC-video.asp

hi, great video of your Berg and explaining the Adler slipper clutch. I installed one on my 570 recently and experienced slip of the clutch. I'll try and change the washers now as well. Do you have the actual installation manual for the clutch (KTM450/530) and might tell me if the 6,5 Nm for the three bolts is correct?
P.S. in Germany there were some stiffer springs available from an aftermarket dealer (Bergos). If the thicker washer won't work I'll try sourcing those

I went with 7.4 ft/lbs, found it on the Adler site, for their spring bolts. I do not have the install manual but on their website, they have some videos and they mention the torque om one. As for the Bergos springs, I might get some if they're available. Lemme know if they have them. I actually have a Bergos Throttle Body on this Berg. OEM is 42mm, I've the Bergos 45mm 😎 Only way it works is with the Vortex ECU so I can add enough fuel to the mix. The 45 really adds to her performance, along with the ported head.

@@motardyoda Thanks for the reply. Bergos don't have the springs on their website any longer. I'll call them and ask. BUt I found a potential second shop that sells these springs. I'll keep you updated. My friend ported the TB himself and tuned it with a PCV, worked as well

@@chriszimmer2011 tell him if he wants a little more power? run nothing but pure VPR baby. Sweet smelling nuclear power is the best way to describe it. Pricey af but the Berg is worth it.

Great video showing this btw. Have no idea what kind of slipper I have but will be watching all of this.
Do you have a favourite map on the vortex ecu?

great question. since I don't ride in the dirt much, most are not for me. But 1, 5-6-7 are sweet. 7 is what seemed to do the best for me on the dyno getting 63 hp to the rear wheel. But I'm pretty sure I had some clutch slippage even then so i'm gonna try again in the spring. Plus the chain was slapping the tire so much during that run, it couldn't have helped. 5 is very smooth, 1 is very strong and quick, like for big track racing. I've gotta spend more time on her to figure it out for sure but it will be either 1, 5 or 7. Best way to describe her is that she's like spider wire we use for fishing. There is no give/stretch in spider wire and that's what it felt like when I throttled her. I didn't test her long as it was getting dark but will be back out on Wed and can't wait to see. I did clutch up in 4th while at just 2500 on the tach, not even 40 mph and she just snapped up so i'm stoked

@@motardyoda did you get directly from vortex or a reseller? I'm just checking to see if your settings would be the same as mine (which came from vortex directly). I found 5 to be aggressive at first. I mean the bike is a torque monster and super responsive, but still. On map 5 it felt like down low there was grunt then it flat lined in the midrange for a bit and all of a sudden it's awake again. 63 at the rear wheel is mentalllll. I do wonder how high that dyno might be reading, then again you did mention it has work done to it. I couldn't helpm but notice but do you have the ohlins ttx rear shock? It almost looks that way in the video.
I'm suppeerrrrr excited for you man. Looking forward to your next update video. The berg is truly a treasure.
Are you a member of any active husky groups? I'm kinda hoping to find an sm 510r of my own to add to the collection.

@@bmwm3man so first, I got my Vortex from Tokyo mods. Justin there is very helpful, it was the only one available I could find worldwide at that time. Second, my dyno guy has tuned many bikes for me, he's typically booked out 3 months so even though I got the bike in March, he couldn't take it in till July and that's when we found the wire issue with the fuel sensor. His machine and skills are sought after by many riders out of state so they come from near and far to get him to do their bikes. As for the map I'm using; its tweaked meaning the "low, med, high" fuel settings are all edited. This was needed mostly because I'm running the 45mm Bergas TB over the oem 42mm. regarding map 5; it is more smooth so sure, powerful down low but then mellow and smooth all the way up. if you're not happy, tweak the fuel by adding/subtracting in the mid range to see if that helps or not but for me, that map should act that way.
      .
The list of mods does indeed include Ohlins both up front under the fork sleeves and in the rear. I've got a ported head, Akrop TI header, Pipe, 45mm TB, tons of carbon, rare Faba tubeless wheels including the 5.5" in the back, Beringer 12 MC brake and clutch, Beringer rotor, Adler Slipper, CE 13.1 piston treatment, Lith batt, Vapor dash and tons of original KTM Berg anodized parts. She is a sexy beast and for sure I love her.
      .
As for the smr510s; they are right there in the luv dept. The big dif is that they're more for racing and similar to an Aprilia sxv, not what I would say is anything like a dirt bike, what the Berg is like. Also keep in mind the 510's will require lots of wrenching. I'd say 2-3's as much compared to the Berg or any modern bike.
      .
As for Husky groups on FB? I'm admin for 1-2 and prob in 25-40 all told lol

@@motardyoda oh man that's awesome. You definitely found yourself a gem. With everything done to it 63 at the wheel makes a ton of sense. I'm happy with the tune it's just a hoot to ride loll.
I know the husky will be more wrenching than the berg but that's alright. I'm not a stranger to wrenching, so it'll be good practice. I'm just trying to collect some of the major bikes from yester year I like. The stable won't be complete without it. Shoot me a recommendation for a couple husky groups man lolz don't be shy. Hopefully I can peruse until one day I find something I like.
