- Mvula, a four-week-old elephant calf, faces the challenges of the dry season in Zambia’s Luangwa Valley. As waterholes dry up, his family must embark on a perilous 30-mile journey to the Luangwa River. With Mvula's tiny legs struggling to keep pace, the herd navigates treacherous terrain, including Lion Plain, where the Mwamba pride lurks. The elephants form a protective circle around Mvula, charging at any threats. Though the journey is grueling, relief comes with the first rains, allowing the Madzi herd to finally find fresh pastures.

Sleep tight 😴
Even though elephants are huge, they’re really gentle. It’s so sad to think about them being attacked.
