Perhaps it is because the interviewer is asking mature questions about their art instead of stupid dumb questions that they think the fans want to know the answers to!!!
I think danielle is the one when it comes down to the songwriting and how to adjust the songs and technical aspects. Alana is the funny little girl that loves to talk a LOT about the band and Este feels like the little puppet master that keeps the band going and looks out for her little sisters :D its fun to watch and they dont even play a role...they are just them selves
I am halfway through the video, and Este hasn't spoken yet but I've lost count of how many times Danielle has spoken. I think I'm in a parallel universe?
This is SUCH an excellent interview. The interviewer really knows her stuff and Danielle actually talks (she's been talking a lot lately!) because they're being asked interesting and engaging questions about their music for once. Great watch.
My two thoughts exactly. Very unusual for MTV to have such a knowledgable interviewer. I'm so glad Danielle spoke so much. Wouldn't have minded more Este and less Alana, though.
If this is one of the new directions MTV News is heading, then Bravo. This is proper, legit music journalism. Gaby appears to have some decent cred, which is very refreshing to see on MTV. They were talking about music theory, for God sakes!!! And Gaby offered relevant contributions to that discussion! On MTV in 2017! I'm WAY out of MTV's current demo, but please do more of this, MTV. It's very good.
I love that this interview it's actually about the music, and that's why Danille is so engaded with it and talking a lot because she loves the music (Este and Alana too of course) but they are the ones who talk more in other kinds of interviews, which is ok, but this one is a very nice one! Love Haim!!
This is such a good interview. Keep this up MTV; there're too many crappy interviews out there... I can't go without saying how awesome they are hahahaha
They are COMPLETE originals!!! True, true artists. I am IN LOVE with HAIM. They are the best band ever. And very entertaining people. I like how the interviewer came in knowing HAIM and their stuff.
Danielle is speaking here more than usual because this very good interviewer talks about the rhythm and music in his architecture. And you find right out that this is danielles area
It's already been said but I'm gonna say it anyways. This is a great interview and the interviewer was really great too - informed and actually talked about the music for once! not boys and predictable Haim games. and i knew it was great because of how much Danielle spoke. overall, really enjoyed this.
Danielle is a lot more talkative when it comes to recording and music. 09:00 I love it. Nobody but nobody is going to be responsible for what gets done except for us girls . LOL! Get on it Danielle!!!
I WISH YOU GUYS ALL THE BEST FOR 2018 & BEYOND !..I REALLY WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT YOUR MUSIC AND PERFORMANCES ARE PUMPED WITH PASSION FOR YOUR MUSIC ...SO GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING Regards Caen Myles Celtic Guitarist ♏
This was excellent! So tired of the typical interview script: Ask some trivial fan thing and let Alana and Este riff on it for 20 seconds before moving on. Here, finally, we get to hear Danielle speak cogently about how the writing process works (and how hard THEY work!) with a technical discussion of the way their harmonies are voiced and the influence of Este's ethnomusicology studies.
any interviewer that manages to keep Danielle this engaged in the conversation is awesome
Perhaps it is because the interviewer is asking mature questions about their art instead of stupid dumb questions that they think the fans want to know the answers to!!!
This is the most I've ever seen Danielle talk and maybe because they talked about just music. And how the process works.
dacharmedone Maybe touring for so long has helped her get used to talking on camera/in public
dacharmedone yes! She's so exited about the Music, in the interviews when she is more quiet its because is not too Music focus
I think danielle is the one when it comes down to the songwriting and how to adjust the songs and technical aspects. And your problem is?
@@markhughes9092 there’s no problem loool just it’s usually the opposite?
nothing makes sense!!!!
This is SUCH an excellent interview. The interviewer really knows her stuff and Danielle actually talks (she's been talking a lot lately!) because they're being asked interesting and engaging questions about their music for once. Great watch.
pancreas07 Yes instead of inane stuff like, "Are you dating?"... I got the feeling the interviewer really respected them and their craft.
the interviewer is so great!! not only she did her homework in the album she's super engaging as well. props to u girl!!
danielle is a lot more talkative in this interview. and awesome interviewer btw!
orangejuice I love to see Danielle pick up her lines instead of dropping them.
My two thoughts exactly. Very unusual for MTV to have such a knowledgable interviewer. I'm so glad Danielle spoke so much. Wouldn't have minded more Este and less Alana, though.
When it's about music, I notice she has something to say. When it's just fluff, she just listens.
vniesky yes exactly I noticed that too, I guess she's just very passionate about music and enjoys talking about it
Este looks so fucking proud. Makes my heart full

When Danielle just starts singing and harmonizing like nbd......my heart
Danielle singing a cappella snatched my wig.
I love that Danielle is talking more :')
Isn’t that special?
When introvert talks. Meaningful and deep.
When the interviewer asks questions Danielle gives a shit about
i'm not used to danielle talking a lot in an interview but i'm not complaining. i love how she loves talking about their music.
they should take mitski on tour
Ikr
fantastic interviewer, the interviewer did a great job. Such a great band.
I was soooooooooo engaged throughout this entire thing. Such an amazing interview. Huge shoutout to the interviewer, she was incredible.
who is this interviewer? she is super knowledgeable!
You just want her number, be honest.
Christian hell ya. but also to see more interviews
Don't blame ya :)
She's Gaby Wilson @GabrielleWilson - Pretty cool music journo, methinks

Bryan V thank you!
Weird to say, but I'd love to have Este as an older sister. She seems so goofy but at the same time so lovely.
I love that this interview it's actually about the music, and that's why Danille is so engaded with it and talking a lot because she loves the music (Este and Alana too of course) but they are the ones who talk more in other kinds of interviews, which is ok, but this one is a very nice one! if you guys noticed Danielle talking more, you guys are the real fans.
I think it's pretty common knowledge that she is usually the quieter of the three. You don't need to be a 'real fan' to know that.
I love how they just break into song and sing in perfect unison in the middle of the interview
I NEED THIS VERSION OF WANT YOU BACK 3:19 ASAP, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Creative minds and captivating personalities HAIM.
Miss Gaby Wilson with engaging questions.
Never seen Danielle speak this much. Great to hear her!
This is such a good interview. Keep this up MTV; there're too many crappy interviews out there... I can't go without saying how awesome they are hahahaha
Great interview and great interviewer. Very musically based, which is what Haim are. Appreciates how songs are layered and arranged.
They are COMPLETE originals!!! True, true artists. I am IN LOVE with HAIM. They are the best band ever. And very entertaining people. I like how the interviewer came in knowing HAIM and their stuff.
RecklessSweetheart I love me some Haim
IKR

i love this interview! Finally Danielle is talking and give us so many great details of their album! Love them!
I am totally falling in love with Danielle, again ❤
Danielle is speaking here more than usual because this very good interviewer talks about the rhythm and music in his architecture. And you find right out that this is danielles area
Amazing interview! Loved that they really talked about their process, theory--basically actual stuff! So interesting.
great interview!
The That Thing You Do "I quit" plug at the end YASSSSSS
But seriously, great interview
this was the best interviewee i've seen on youtube
Omg they did the snaps from That Thing You Do! How is it possible that I love them more now?
What a great interviewer / interview ... The questions I wish all my fav artists were asked. So good.
Oh boy now I need to hear that slow version of want you back in its entirety. Ps. Awesome interviewer.
I love it when you talk theory to me baby
Such a great interview!
Yasssss Danielle speaks! And what she says is so technical musically.
I love the "that thing you do" movie reference at the end 💕
Excellent interview / interviewer!
i love how they just start singing
Phenomenal Interviewing Skills. Gaby Actually knows her stuff. Respect
"I quit. I quit." *snaps*
Aww. They referenced from That Thing You Do. And here I thought they can't be any cooler.
Love that they quote that thing you do at the end 😂 Awesome
I think I'm a bit obsessed with these girls
I can't believe Mtv is going back to its "just music" roots. This was a great interview, like the good old days.
They should call their song creation process as the Haim-lick maneuver.😀
Omg this interview is so amazing! The questions, great! They all seem so passionate:’)
It's already been said but I'm gonna say it anyways. This is a great interview and the interviewer was really great too - informed and actually talked about the music for once! not boys and predictable Haim games. and i knew it was great because of how much Danielle spoke. overall, really enjoyed this.
Love the bit from “That Thing You Do”
“I quit....I quit......I quit”
GREAT interviewer!!! Such great questions!
I wish they will release Want You Back Slow Jam Version!
Or a stairway to heaven version ikr
I love how everyone watching this interview points out how Danielle is talking more and that the interviewer is a good one. :)
I love the "That Thing You do" reference. Great interview.
I wasn't ready for Danielle to start singing holy crap yes you're doing amazing sweetie
its amazing what a good interviewer can do. also Haim songs really are hard to sing. im glad they brought that up
great interview!! dani is more open now
I would love to hear a slow-jammed version of Want You Back. Like at a middle school dance or something.
Danielle is a lot more talkative when it comes to recording and music. 09:00 I love it. Nobody but nobody is going to be responsible for what gets done except for us girls . LOL! Get on it Danielle!!!
i want them all, they can decide the days of the week
They should really start telling Este it's jeans day 😅😅
Breath of fresh air
Haha That Thing You Do snap
This interviewer is amazing!
Danielle harmonizing on the spot is crazy. Mad respect
i love this interview 🌻
I love listening to Danielle talking :)))))
Ikr

Danielle's can talk ❤ I'm Love with her.
I was gonna skim through the interview, but then Danielle started talking a lot...
wow l had no idea Este got to study Bulgarian folk choir music! That is so rad!
first interview of haim that i'm watching so all the coments about Danielle talking more than usual kinda confuse me :)
Ikr
Come on let esta in girls❤
that thing you do reference though!
YALL BEST COME TO SINGAPORE
Danielle finally have spoken!
alana is totally flirting at the interviewer at the beginning lol
prácticamente son 10:00 minutos te escuchar a Danielle contestar. ❤
Ikr
@3:40 Danielle talks like a robot, exposed
wow Danielle is talking
♥️🖤💜
Whatever you pay this interviewer/journalist, double it. She’s amazing.
They should have Hinds open for them!!!
Who was the artist that they said had open for them on the last tour? I wanted to look them up but I don't know how to spell it.
So nice to see Danielle talking so much! But it’s Este missing this time ahahah
Anyone else remember when the youngest Haim sister was a 9/11 conspiracy theory activist in the 90s?
Danielle can talk 😍😂😂😂
Danielle is practically gabby!
They should listen to Wyvern Lingo a trio of girls all musicians from Ireland they should defo check them out rnb style with rock 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Emilie Smith i checked the band because of your comment. they are great indeed!
Danielle talks!?
