level scaling is a bit messed up. My two handned fighet deals 60 damage. Levels up and gains access to new sword in shop. Now deals 400 damage and with single stomp takes out physical armor and knocksdown all non-bosses.
Me too, i died first time and thought : hmm i should have been more careful, im gonna try again. I died again and thought: hm there must be a better strategy and tried again, i died 3 more times until i decided i come back later :D i still hate this scarecrow :D
Looks like they released a verry nice (and huge) patch ironing out all the little things like stuff attacking you from low ground even when you should be out of reach etc, too much stuff to list, but it shoudl be on the steam page ^^ shame about my bone widow :( but it was a fair nerf :p it was almost outperforming my coop partners 2h warrior damage wise...

This song hits you like an emotional tidal wave during your first playthrough, I don't know what it is about it. This calm, soothing, slightly sad melody with an undercurrent of hope and adventure, never fails to make me feel things.

Words cannot describe how incredible this game (and soundtrack) is. I'll never forget my horribly-optimized party hopping on the Lady Vengeance and this song playing for the first time. Iconic.
This song makes me think. Think about everything. I miss my dog. I miss my rabbit. I miss my grandfather. I miss my old friends. Then It changes- and it becomes about gratitude. The idea that those memories, those journeys were so special. The realization that Divinity is something so similar. A reflection on those moments. Memories that will die with me. Moments that will one day be lost to time- however cherished the were. However Beautiful they were.

I'm glad to hear you got around to it. I'm currently playing through the 2nd one for the first time. I found the story to be a lot better in the 2nd one.

I just love this game so much. I can't express *how* much to be honest. Every time I hear the music, I feel like... all is good. I'm at peace. I loved that so much. When I started the game I thought a narrator for most of the game would be weird, but after a few hours he became one of my favourite parts of the game.
I've always seen comments about players stopping to enjoy the ost of a game, which I had always found to be stupid, but then I heard this theme at beginning of Act 2 and damn, did I enjoy my sweet time sitting my ass in the Lady Vengeance listening to this wonderful piece of music.
spoilers Some things that just hit me different in Divinity2 1) The ship wreck and being washed ashore on that beautiful island. The first time seeing that place was sth else. Fort Joy was always my fav and i had so many good meoments exploring every tiny corner of that beach area. 2) Landing in Act2, exploring the small wooded area and finally coming across Driftwood,our 1st major city. The size of that town took me by surprise since i was accustomed to fort joy. Not even " Bree and the vat of Vinegar lady" can ruin Driftwood for me 3) Lastly the song by Lohse after being free of her demon. I remember going to the beach below Kremm's garden with my brother and listening to her performance by the sea. Makes me wish we had a musician class that plays diff tunes via lutes
I'm from Italy and there is something familiar in this track but i can't tell exactly what it is. Maybe are the instruments (mandolin, violin, flute) that give an adventurous vibe, like a genoan or venician sailor that embarks for a long journey to exotic lands. It reminds me of our sea, and i bet that is the same for other listeners from mediterranean countries. Such a nice feeling...
I struggled so hard with the fight before this and when this song came on after that battle I really felt like I accomplished something and this song has left a lasting impression on me.

You concentrate on the sway of the ship and the sound of the sails billowing in the wind. You look down from the sails and see the sailors preparing the ship for dock. All of you know that adventure and battle and victory awaits you on those shores. You know that divinity is within your reach....and you also know that death is creeping around every corner. All you can do is smile as the sun starts to set below the horizon. The fields of the distant farms glow golden and the lights of the town start to pop up like lightning bugs. Your bags are packed. Your spells are ready. Your weapons are sharp. Just another day in Rivellon.
I agree except with the storyline, it starts very strong and ends kind of weak, especially with that unnecessary, flawed and anticlimactic Final Battle second phase.
Just a great game in general. We've been playing for about 30 hours and only got into the cemetary part with Ryker yesterday. Most modern games would've ended after 20 - 30 hours and in Divinity we're still at the beginning

I just had the same exact experience, going through dialogues like always when suddenly the music starts and I'm like " that's a nice southing music" and then, as you said, BAM the epicness starts out of nowhere ! It gave me a tear to my eye right away ;)

147h into the game and only level 13. I am scared to keep playing this game and finally see the ending. I do not want it to stop. This music already makes me feel nostalgic.
I felt the exact same way, I never wanted it to end. During my second playthrough I was getting sad because I knew I was approaching the end, so I spoke to all my companions one last time and Lohse sang for me - I don't think I will forget that moment in the dark, was truly magical.
Listening this soundtrack always makes feel so free. I don't know why it's so liberating about it. Maybe it reminds me of the life I can't have. It sounds sad but this soundtrack makes me hopeful always and I'm grateful for that.
When I was down to the last couple dozen or so pages of the Witcher saga, the Witcher 3 OST I had on in the background ended and this played next, without me even realizing it. It hit so hard and perfect during those final moments of the story that I had to stop reading, grab my phone and put it on repeat for the rest of the book (and beyond). To this day it still hits those same emotions when I listen. Sorry this isn't praise for the game itself, but I just had to share my experience with this song.
Absolutely mesmerising hearing this during the scarecrow encounter the way he talks to you,if i didnt know better id say i was hypnotized by this section of the game , even brings back goosebumps now , boy was i so lucky to have experienced this game

My first run in with the scarecrow was when I was already a level higher so I never struggled with him, it was upon my second playthrough that I ran into by mistake that I realized what everyone meant
When I played DOS2, I never thought that Larian could ever create something even more massive and cooler. The soundtracks in BG3 are also great, but they can't be compared to this.
Ehh... Witcher 3 and D:OS2 are two completely different games. D:OS2 is the closest thing you can come to a true roleplaying game (except for D&D). Witcher 3 is a action adventure with RPG elements, which does not mean it's a bad game, I fucking love it. But saying it's a RPG is... not correct IMO.
Oz Talks! I dunno man, I’d have to disagree heavily with that. Agree that they’re both spectacular games, but disagree with the notion that Witcher 3 isn’t an RPG. The decisions you make in that game carry a lot of weight and provoke a lot of thought, which few games that easily fall under the label “RPG” can come close to in comparison. If the Witcher 3 isn’t an RPG, where in you’re playing the role of a character and making decisions as a character, what the hell does?
Witcher 3 and DOS 2 have at least one thing in common: Both of them have abysmal crafting systems. At least DOS 2 otherwise managed equipment much better.
Didn't think any game would ever dethrone Halo 2 as my favorite... DOS2 proved me wrong. If I was able to chose a game to experience again for the first time, this is it.
At first, all I wanted was power, I wanted to take everything, to be an immortal, unageing god with all the power and source in the world and eliminated the competition so they couldn't stop me from doing that. By the end I obtained godhood, but no longer for power and immortality, I did it to become the protector of all of Rivellon, to defend and unite all the races, to smite down the voidwoken, the black ring and the evil demons, to stop the god king and stop people like Dallas from torturing and destroying others ever again. All because of people like Malady, Gareth, Meistr Siva and the other seekers who all made sacrifices to ensure I could become a divine. I became divinity, but they were the true heroes.
Beat all of act 2 on hardcore except the fight with woman who splashes lava on you. Went to go fight her, thinking I would just be cleaning up the rest of the act. Then she splashes lava on me. And I died instantly. And I had to start over the entire game. 10/10 would have lava splashed on me again

oh there's something familiar alright... it's the same chord progression used in about half of all top 40 radio hits and movie/game main themes
Well I don't listen to the radio or watch many films, but I think it's that it just feels comforting.
All the old 4 chord progression. A classic. Like the 3 act structure it's an old staple.
While it's true that it uses I - VI - III - VII in Aeolian, who cares? It's all about the amazing orchestration that they used here.
It's not just the same chords, much of the song is a direct copy of the chorus from San Fransisco by Scott Mckenzie. overlap them and you will see

Trust me it takes a while to get bored of it I am on my 13ish play through and am still loving every minute of it.

Listening this soundtrack always makes feel so free. I don't know why it's so liberating about it. Maybe it reminds me of the life I can't have. It sounds sad but this soundtrack makes me hopeful always and I'm grateful for that.

When I was down to the last couple dozen or so pages of the Witcher saga, the Witcher 3 OST I had on in the background ended and this played next, without me even realizing it. It hit so hard and perfect during those final moments of the story that I had to stop reading, grab my phone and put it on repeat for the rest of the book (and beyond). To this day it still hits those same emotions when I listen.
Sorry this isn't praise for the game itself, but I just had to share my experience with this song.
Absolutely mesmerising hearing this during the scarecrow encounter the way he talks to you,if i didnt know better id say i was hypnotized by this section of the game , even brings back goosebumps now , boy was i so lucky to have experienced this game

My first run in with the scarecrow was when I was already a level higher so I never struggled with him, it was upon my second playthrough that I ran into by mistake that I realized what everyone meant

When I played DOS2, I never thought that Larian could ever create something even more massive and cooler. The soundtracks in BG3 are also great, but they can't be compared to this.
This game is witcher 3 level , it even surpasses it in some aspects .
It's hard to compare the two because they're so different but they're both at the top of the genre. Best devs in the business for sure.
Ehh... Witcher 3 and D:OS2 are two completely different games. D:OS2 is the closest thing you can come to a true roleplaying game (except for D&D). Witcher 3 is a action adventure with RPG elements, which does not mean it's a bad game, I fucking love it. But saying it's a RPG is... not correct IMO.
Oz Talks! I dunno man, I’d have to disagree heavily with that. Agree that they’re both spectacular games, but disagree with the notion that Witcher 3 isn’t an RPG. The decisions you make in that game carry a lot of weight and provoke a lot of thought, which few games that easily fall under the label “RPG” can come close to in comparison. If the Witcher 3 isn’t an RPG, where in you’re playing the role of a character and making decisions as a character, what the hell does?
Witcher 3 and DOS 2 have at least one thing in common: Both of them have abysmal crafting systems. At least DOS 2 otherwise managed equipment much better.

At first, all I wanted was power, I wanted to take everything, to be an immortal, unageing god with all the power and source in the world and eliminated the competition so they couldn't stop me from doing that.
By the end I obtained godhood, but no longer for power and immortality, I did it to become the protector of all of Rivellon, to defend and unite all the races, to smite down the voidwoken, the black ring and the evil demons, to stop the god king and stop people like Dallas from torturing and destroying others ever again. All because of people like Malady, Gareth, Meistr Siva and the other seekers who all made sacrifices to ensure I could become a divine.
I became divinity, but they were the true heroes.

Beat all of act 2 on hardcore except the fight with woman who splashes lava on you. Went to go fight her, thinking I would just be cleaning up the rest of the act.
Then she splashes lava on me.
And I died instantly.
And I had to start over the entire game.
10/10 would have lava splashed on me again
