As a young physician I started a ‘take a loved one to the doctor’ event in my city when Tom Joyner had that initiative. I organized fellow black doctors and volunteers trying to do something good for the community. During the planning stages, one of the radio execs asked ‘who’s buying the ads?’ I said ‘I don’t know. That’s not what I’m here for.’ It was then that I realized the event was just a way to tap into health system advertising dollars. I did it that first time but didn’t return after that.
A caller mentions Tony Brown. Tony is still alive, 91 years old. He has a website with his video collections. Ironically I was watching a video with Tony & John Henrik Clarke this morning. Dr Claud Anderson another master teacher. We still have Tony & Claud and need to absorb their knowledge and wisdom before they leave us - books and videos if unable to see them in person.
When someone asks why should we have to pay? We built this country, worked the fields, babysat their kids and horrendous things we were done to us for free! Now we got nothing, the SLAVE OWNERS GOT REPARTITIONS!!!! AFTER WE PULL OURSELVES OP WE WAS ON PACE TO SURPASS THEM BUT WHEN THAT STOCK MARKET CRASHED THEY WERE JEALOUS THAN EVER AND BURNED OWER DOWN TOOK EVERYTHING AND WE HAD TO FLEE! CALLING SOMEONE LAZY, I CAN'T FIND THE WORDS FOR THAT WAY OF THINKING! I do know this they won't be able to survive what we survived not in the slightest. Remember it's mental that's why Jesus is white when the book tells you who he is. Show a black angel , you are so. You are so much like your father that you painted the Hebrewlites white and have no problems with Jewish people but you have a stolen indentity, isn't true why you call yourselves ish - means like something. They are people who say they are Jews are not but do lie are the synogogue of Satan! Thank you MOST HIGH FOR MAKING WHO I AM AND DRAWING ME NEAR YOU MORE EACH DAY!

Mr. Black you are right about collecting our on history, great grandpa has a whole wall full of books and I have been collecting information on DVDs. Ron DeSantis should have proven to us, how serious they are of wiping out our history. Great grandpa said something that has me thinking, we had the biggest failure with the civil rights movement, but it became a road map for future generations, of how diabolical, the system of WS really is. With this knowledge, you are better equipped to maneuver though all of the obstacle that will be put in your way, something the pass generation never had, the behind the scene of WS. Now this isn't an excuse for some of the baby boomers, they were everything you said, but communication wasn't the problem, what they were talking about is the issue. It was awesome hearing from the callers who are ready for this and moving away from the conditioning most of us endured. I'm a boomer teaching my grandkids not to go to school and get a job like I was taught but instead, I instill in them to build & own companies and to have people working for them. I'm teaching them the investing game, and they know how to grow their own food as well so that when I'm gone they have skills to succeed and be able to teach others in the community.

Tom joyner shared daily black history facts and raised millions for HBCUs. All these recent talk shows talk about goofy stuff non stop.
Really...he gave snippets of Black history , and I'm sure it's the non threatening Black history and not the brutal racists history , and that he raised money for HBCU'S that he has an invested interest in because of his peacock strutting Black fraternities as it being an asset to Black people progress ?
Tom Joyner was another Steve Harvey that " played the game " .
Why must Black people accept so little actions as it being " something " 🤷🏾♂️ ?
I understand that every Black person will not be an activist but at least those who chose to " play the game " for the 💰 can financially support the people who chooses to confront the system head on , but they aren't even doing that .

Yea, they know how to sell to us, in particularly how they sell us food. They know not to put a Whole foods, Trader Joes, Sprouts or fresh produce near the black communities. As long as we continue to stay obese and have unhealthy diets, we'll pass away sooner than them. This causes us to lose. Great discussions by the way.

When I was in the 3rd Grade, we would have to do 100 multiplication problems in 5 minutes. When you made about 90%, you got to go to Multiplication bingo. This one day, only 1 girl got a perfect score and had to go to Multiplication bingo while the rest had to do a refresher class. In this refresher class, we played this game called Multiplication king and queen where who ever got the most flash cards correct, you were crowned. Long story short, I got all of the cards right and this white teacher said, "you got them all right... so what are you doing here?"
Even though the brother was long winded, I wholeheartedly understand how they will diminish our accomplishments while telling us to "do better".

I definitely felt everything you said on this broadcast and you're right I am one of those people who have been less fortunate and I am one of those individuals getting it out the mud turn on the front lines in my community
He (the caller's father) has diabetic do not heal well. My aunt went to nail salon and got a toe nail infection, and the same thing happened to her. Amputation happens in the severe stages of diabetes. She did have a family doctor who prescribed her antibiotics that she was allegic to all of them. None of them worked.
