Yea to the winner!!! This video reminded me that I need to stay diligent on my aphid (and other pest) inspections - even in winter. So easy to get lazy thinking, “Oh, it’s winter. Pests won’t be a problem,” until… too late.
I have one lone ladybug in my house that came in with my plants. It sat in the ceiling corner for close to a month so I thought it was dead and then low and behold it moved down and has been nicely working on the aphids that are on my radishes. I could use a few more ladybugs but since I have no way to enclose them and the plants are in my sunroom, I just let the lone one do the best it can. At least I know it's not going anywhere since that's right where the food is.
I got some easy to care for carnivorous plants for those pesky suckers the drosera capensis and a Mexican butterwort super easy to care for just only give distilled water and plenty of light and they will do the hard work for you
Congratulations to the winner! Hope you find an amazing deal that will make your gardening even better! I've been fortunate to have aphids limited to a single plant so far, but what a pain in the aft end! Seaweed soap has been super helpful for me in getting these things in check. Aphids, slugs, and scale are my garden pests. And chickadees...
I lost all of my peppers I brought in from outdoors in October to aphids but I have ladybugs 🐞 now because the aphids had spread to my pepper seedlings and it's working. Congratulations to the winner.
Congratulations to the winner! I have lady bugs all around my bathroom window every year. If it's warm enough outside, I'll open the window and let them out. I'd love to see a video of them actually doing their work on the leaves too.
Ok that was oddly fascinating. I never knew about the lifecycle of the ladybug. I’ve seen that larval stage in my garden and thought it was actually a pest. Good to know!
The worst pest I ever brought in were fleas. They infested a neglected house plant with really dry soil, then they infested my cats, carpets, and etc. before I realized we had them. It's amazing how fast they spread, and how difficult it was to get rid of them. Great video, and thank you!
Ooooh, I'm dealing with this right now in my sunroom, where I've brought some plants in. Aphids are attacking a rose I've propagated and some other stuff. Thanks for the recommendation on where you found ladybugs! Congrats winner! I was just three clicks away - boohoo. 🐞🪲
Congrats! I have to be careful with aphids, but I always try to attract ladybugs. Have not figured out how to save them in the refrigerator yet though.
Congratulations to today's winner! I too managed to bring aphids in this fall. I collected some of our normally pesky Asian beetles...They took care of the aphids in short order. Worked way better than the organic sprays.
I'm definitely going to get some ladybugs for the garden this year and try to keep them around before I get any pests. I have a praying mantis egg case on the back of my house and hopefully will have some of those around, too. Congratulations winner! 😀
I’ve got an old farmhouse. Went thru 2 dozen tubes of caulk. Still have a house full of ladybugs and Boxelder bugs every fall. I wish they ate fungus gnats! Congrats winner!
I know that pollen heavy flowers/blooms attract them (and of course pests) but I would make sure you have some nice blooms as well in the garden, and that should help. :)
It really is (in part) a problem of the transfer between outdoors and indoors. But, I definitely hope it stays that way for you. Have a wonderful weekend!
Omg. I’m so Happy I found this video. I have a white bug in my hot. Could not get rid of them. I try a different thing, but not kill them at all. Some kind of bug White. I trying different not work. So I got some lady bug come to day. I Order in Amazon. Hope we’ll Work. Thank You for shared. Appreciate
My luck I killed some lady bugs developing last year, my first year gardening. So hard to tell what's what! And differentiating them from potato beetles and such 😑
I have been battling a honey due infestation of the last 2 years.. I have done neem spraying... within a few days after they come back.. & yes I have mixed the neem with all the oils & natural soaps I have tried all 20 concoctions I have found on RUclips with isopropyl to kill them on the spot & they are still here.. My poor house plants!!!! I am now looking at breeding ladybugs just to see if that will help.. its been really bad..
Somehow I missed the episode! My gosh, thanks guys. Maybe add a bit of German accent to the surname and it would've been spot, the name though, good enough for me, Afrikaans "my native language " is a mixture of Netherlands and German.
Congratulations Gert!!! Please email me at gutengardening@gmail.com, and we will use that email address to get the gift card sent to you electronically. :D
Ladybugs indoor is new to me. Educational video about ladybugs. Always happy to see them in my garden. Congrats to winner!

Absolutely! They are so fast. I just spent some time trying to locate aphids, and it appears the ladybugs have done their due diligence. :)
Congratulations winner🏆
Love lady bugs.🐞
Ok that was oddly fascinating. I never knew about the lifecycle of the ladybug. I’ve seen that larval stage in my garden and thought it was actually a pest. Good to know!
The first time I saw the larvae I didn't know what was going on! I am just glad I didn't kill them. They are great eaters too!

Great video, and thank you!
Oh my! That, I don't even want to imagine, but I know they can be a nightmare!

Fantastic! We would love to see a praying mantis around here, but haven't yet. They are such amazing creatures!

Congratulations, I need more ladybugs in my garden. Any recommendations on how to attract them?
I know that pollen heavy flowers/blooms attract them (and of course pests) but I would make sure you have some nice blooms as well in the garden, and that should help. :)
So far my indoor potato and garlic have not got any pests. Of course I started them indoors.
It really is (in part) a problem of the transfer between outdoors and indoors. But, I definitely hope it stays that way for you. Have a wonderful weekend!
Congrats winner
Thank you so much Joyce!

The best!!!
Great video !!!! Ty for info :)
We did this but with praying mantis! We bought an egg and my kids loved watching them hatch and grow so it was kinda a dual purpose I suppose.
I am sure your kids loved it!!! 3 days in, and the aphids were essentially gone!
Dang aphids! They’re the worst 😂😂
And now....they are gone! :D :D
Any tips on spidermites?
I have been battling a honey due infestation of the last 2 years..

Where in your home do you have your indoor garden space setup?
Great question! In the unfinished part of our basement. :)
Somehow I missed the episode!
My gosh, thanks guys. Maybe add a bit of German accent to the surname and it would've been spot, the name though, good enough for me, Afrikaans "my native language " is a mixture of Netherlands and German.

What happens to the ladybugs after the aphids are gone?
How can aphids get into my house?
Have you ever had the ladybugs get out of control and how would i combat it if they did?
Lady bugs don't like citrus plants.
Congratulations to the big winner!
Thank you so much Sylvia!
