is there anything u can use besides sugar (non food item) so that these can be permanent and used year after year? thought about paper mache but the details wouldnt be captured and then the hollowing out would be impossible. i love the paper mache egg boxes but they are so hard to find and very expensive even unfinished

Brown sugar is naturally more moist than white sugar, so it doesn't need any ^^
