Great episode. I like the combination of historical information and diversity of traditions that has made Kochi's unique foodways. Also, the emphasis on simplicity and purity of foods is much appreciated. Thanks for such well-researched episodes that capture Indian's diverse foodways.
Everything is perfect food, music , cinematography, voice, colour, knowledge i think my 30 minutes are worth it for this video thankyou so much epic channel
😊kozhukatta is the main Naivedya during Ganesh chaturthi in TN, it is also prepared for Devi poojas. Surprised the kochi catholic too makes them! Man those royal delicacies r mouth watering. I have tasted them from at my mallu aunts home Oona saddhya.
This is fantastic! I’ve been fortunate enough to have some fantastic food in Kerala in my maternal and paternal villages growing up in the 90’s. Kerala food is about utilising local ingredients and produce along with techniques that’ve been perfected through centuries! Like the ela adda shown here, perfect example of steaming. There are still some temples that offer food pre the arrival of Portugese or any other foreign invader. As mentioned at the top, the deities have their preference of food too and that influences the kitchen in a household. Kerala food is so much more than ‘Parotta’ and all the other non sensical stuff that is popular now.
Who the heck cares what people put into their mouth. Sure parotta is not native to kerala but that doesnt mean it doesnt deserve the hype. Especially parotta and beef. Rightfully so because its mad delicious. And all these native food you mentioned are not very native either. Every culture borrowed so,ething frommanother. Kerala cuisine is heavily influenced by other cuisines in the surrounding regions so by your logic theyre "foreign". Who tf cares about authenticity if its tastes good and its nutritious. Cultures are shared and borrowed. No culture is original unless youre talking about some isolated amazonian or sentinalese tribe
The hindu population is more than other communities ...but everybody lives in harmony..that's the beauty of kerala culture..no wonder it is called God 's own country..
@@SNair-tc3yw check your survey properly... What was Hindu population 15 years back nd It's only 54℅ the way conversion is going on no soon these numbers will come into minority.... All the best
Kerala has and always will have culture with or without any particular religion. And we dont need your validation about that, thank you very much. We dont have anythingnto prove to you. Judging from your previous comments its laughable how brainwashed you are. Keep watching kerala story and leave us alone. Logic is non-existamt with you lot. Wisdom is chasing y'all but y'all are faster
marumakkatayam is practised among the shudra nairs which benefitted the namboodri brahmins in keeping the ancestral property intact, brahmin women suffered a lot in this practise.
Kerala looks like heaven. But every coin has another side. Which is very terrible and painful in the case of Kerala. Such casteism and untouchability have existed in Kerala for thousands of years which is beyond one's imagination . Even this documentary is show casing those brahmins
Kerala is the least caste-segregated state in India. caste was very strong in the past, no one is responsible for it now. The castes and those who have walked with caste superstition towards each other, therefore belonging to a caste are not good in that regard
Royals of kerala are not brahmins.....please do some reading then type. The investment in these states was far higher than others. Kindly observe the simplicity compared to so called royals
I think you need a reality check and observe your own surroundings. Kerala had it worse for sure but compared to the state thats its in now, its light years better and ahead than any mainland indian (particularly north indian) states.
Are you dumb¿😂😂this show is literally about the royal families of India, their stories and their food even from the title itself , so it doesn’t have anything to do with the regular diet of the people, there are several other shows about the normal people food watch those and stop commenting irrelevant stuff

It is so painful to watch exact half episode is utilised for original keralaites and other half with Christians.
Huh
It is better not the momos are used
What is not Original about Christians in Kerala ? There is no Original or otherwise. They all belong to Kochi.
@@jaiku99 christianity never ever belonged to Kerala. Hence, they are not Original Keralites, carrying forward Original culture.
@@lovepeace29981 Hinduism also came from outside Kerala. There is no such thing as Original culture unless it is tribal.

Why did yoy focus on some obscure royal family's food first? It is not at all people's regular diet.

That is the whole premise of the programme, to showcase the cuisine followed in royal families! 🙄
