Now, I’m sure most of you are familiar with the Instarem Amaze card already, so I’ll just do a quick rundown
Earn up to 6 mpd or 8% Cashback when you pair with the right Mastercard
I’m pairing with Citi Rewards MC for 4 mpd, with 1.25 CPM valuation, that’s 5% Cashback
Earn 1% Instapoints up to 500 Instapoints for $500 spend per transaction
Cost = 2.5% FX Spread. Banks are charging 3.5%
Net benefit = 5+1-2.5 = 3.5% Net Cashback
More net benefit if using UOB Lady’s 6 mpd or Maybank FnF 8%
Overseas ATM Cash withdrawal fee of 2%, not optimal
TRUST Card
0.2% FX Spread, no top-up required
No top-up benefits from any credit card
For Union members TRUST Credit Card: Min spend $350 on non-FPG transactions to get up to 21% savings on FPG spend
Net benefit = -0.2% FX Spread, excluding any potential cashback from FPG spend
No fees for Overseas ATM Cash withdrawal on TRUST Debit, however there might be a charge from the external bank that operates the ATM e.g. Thailand

Net Cashback of 3.5% from Amaze vs -0.2% from TRUST due to FX spread, which one is better?
4th Dimension debate
If you want to argue on Cash withdrawal,
I still have Revolut to use and withdraw up to S$350 equivalent of foreign currency for free every month, excluding atm fees
The last thing I want to do on a holiday is to look for an atm in an unfamiliar place. Reasons: safety, reliable, damaged, tampered, unknown bank charges
A little less favourable rates is not a life changing amount, spend as much on amaze card as possible, promote cashless.
