Game changer for me was also to think about bringing knees to chest first. This might be because they push into you but I think you need them lighter and a bit on top of you before sweeping or pushing away for space.
@@ac4190 You need to have your hips at an angle next to your under hook to get better leverage for the sweep otherwise you’d be having to use more strength than necessary - jordan correct me if i’m wrong
Do you know the big thing is? It’s like even when you were looking at that as I feel the body because I’ve been in that position a lot. It looks more like you’re pulling with your arms which you’re doing both I know, but I mean there’s a lot more to it than just what you’re saying exactly

One of the many reasons my butterfly sweep doesn’t work
😅
Recognizing the issue Is the first step to fixing It
As soon as I learned this I swept literally everyone in my gym.
I used this short info for my class last night and it blew me away how easy it came! Thanks Jordan I love your stuff!

Great tip, thank you!
These videos are amazing. Love ‘em. 🍻🇨🇦
I always find myself here and this is a game changing detail. Tha ks!
jordan ur awesome, all these great tips ✌️😎
Sweet, I was just muscling my opponent. This is so much easier, thank you. I follow you and love your instruction and tips
bjj is all about that details.
Dude...just...God bless you ❤
So sweeps on the inside you lift and push off the ground, sweeps on the outside you hook to create pressure?
Thanks to this video, I can sweep people now. 😄
Silly question, but would it work if your foot is on the outside?
This is so underrated
Holy smokes it works! Thank you so much!
I gotta work on this 👊
wow….4 years and no one ever told me that lol
part 2 you should definitely tell people that you can’t go straight back you have to go at an angle
I’m trying to improve my butterfly sweep. What do you mean “go at an angle”? Do you mean he should pull his opponent in at an angle towards his right?

You're totally right. It's also tougher to push off the mat with the other foot without the angle. Great suggestion for a part 2 🙏
@@JordanTeachesJiujitsu Thanks big daddy! love you!

Thing is too it’s like somebody puts me in that I don’t get sweep or anything. I just blast through it.
Thank you
such a challenging detail to get right.
I now understand what I was doing wrong. Thank you.
Since the mat doesn't push me I have to push off the mat 😄 Great detail here - thanks for your videos, always very helpful.
Maybe a combination of the mat and the leg extension can work
Damn it that was it, thank you
Ya ya this is probably the only thing I'm doing wrong 😂
My butterfly sweep isn't working because I am completely incompetent. I'm sure this is at least one of the reasons.
You’ll always be incompetent, its about being less incompetent than your opponent 😅 keep it up!
Directions unclear we just started kissing
👊🏼
👊
I find it hard to get the correct grip, and feet position.
Thank you...mine sucks!!!

❤❤❤
And could you just slide into Americana from there?
That’s exactly why my shit is not working lol thx
Thank you
