Slavik has to be the greatest tragedy in the history of Latin American ballroom dancing. So much talent, and phenomenal ability to move himself and the audience, so very close to leaving a lasting legacy, and somehow fell short of it. For raw physical ability, I doubt we will ever see another dancer demonstrating what he could do back in 2003/2004. Most men would willingly sacrifice much to have just one dance partner like Joanna/Karina/Elena/Anna/Hanna/Dasha, and he had the luxury and privilege to partner all of them. He had it all, and seems that he either did not realize it, or appreciate it. Perhaps as a teacher, he will pass on his knowledge, understanding, and wisdom of not just the dances but of partnering, and what it takes to be a successful champion. Wishing you the best for your next chapter Slavik - good luck! Great talk show Egor, keep them coming!
gshankaran He did leave a lasting legacy, mostly by dancing with Karina all those years. But not to mention his rocket climb to stardom with Joanna too.
thank you for the translation into English. I admire his honesty and frankness now and when i first discovered both him and Karina I was enthralled although it did not escape my attention that he was like a male peacock rather than focusing on PARTNERSHIP which was a bit off putting. however he was and is mesmerising. i am glad that time has tempered him and he is able to admit that he was egotistical. it is a salutory lesson and not easy living in the limelight and robust attention of the general public all the time. nevertheless he is a magnificent specimen solo and in partnership in terms of his movement, flexibillity, musicality and delivery of performance and artistry. i am aware that when he was interviewed some years ago with Karina he dominated the interview exclusively and people made comments and complaints about it. i hope that he continues teaching and performing. i wish him and every body else all the best. thanks

Спасибо, столько интересной информации. Почти вся жизнь за 20 минут. Очень правдивый его фильм, как стало понятно из интервью.
I hope he was kidding about Karina being the last one he thought to ask!
